Drinks are 5/5, absolutely amazing. Service was also fantastic, the workers were very nice and patient, great customer service. Lower rating only due to management, they were extremely understaffed for a weekend. Waited over an hour for two drinks, even when I was cited a 30-minute wait when I first came in. Though a nice gesture, one issue I noticed was that the workers offer to expedite orders that were asked about. I only saw this once, but if that's happening often, it definitely messes up the wait time. Hoping that the massive traffic helps them open up a bigger store with more employees. Definitely would recommend, and am definitely coming back myself, but be ready to carve out 1-2 hours just to get your drink on the weekend! read more

I would give a 3.5 if I could.. let me tell you why. The Drinks themselves get 5 stars! They were delicious, we all got matcha's the vanilla with cold foam, Strawberry and banana pudding. All were excellently made and flavors were delicious. Services is kind and helpful. However time for a little feedback. Keep your menu updated, the posted menu had drinks that were not available and seasonal or rotating drinks are not separated. We waited 40 minutes for our drinks... from the time we ordered to the time we got them. And although the drinks were good, I don't know that I would consider any drink to be good enough to wait that long and had I've known it has going to take that long. I don't know that I would've ordered. I think they need to warn people and give a time estimate on how long it will be. We went around noon. I don't know if it's always that busy, because was my first time going but to me there workspace is not adequate. They do not have enough space so I don't know if they started small because they weren't sure how popular they were going to be, but I feel like they've already outgrown the space that they are in to be able to handle the volume of customers. So I'm taking stars due to the length of wait time and the fact that the menu could be better updated. So definitely worth trying, but if you are make sure that you have plenty of time just in case it's as busy when you go, or bring a good book to read. read more

Visited the viral matcha shop I've seen on social media for the first time. Located inside of the Winrock center, across the street from the park. You'd probably miss it because it's located in the building. There is no real signage but flags on the outside. Plus, you walk in and it's just a counter with a cash register and ladies making the fresh matcha right before your eyes. Friendly staff, menu isn't too extravagant. For the record, the thought of drinking something that looks like liquid grass doesn't appeal to me but with the suggestion of my daughter and a friend, I thought "let's give this little local place a try" I ordered a strawberry matcha. I'd say I drank a little over half of it. It was okay. Now don't take my word for it in this case. I think this is the best place for matcha in Albuquerque right now. Some mornings it gets crowded and it can be a little slow, but they are whisking each cup by hand. It's a small operation and you can see it all happen. They have quite a few options to choose from, but I usually opt for the plain one (The Ritual), less sweet, less ice. Their matcha still shines through the milk and agave, without being too bitter. The green is dark and not too light like other cafes. There's a few tables and some comfy looking seats, so might be good for a quick drink and hang out with friends. I was in town for a day and was craving matcha, so I found this spot on Yelp and decided to check it out. I was instantly impressed by the adorable and stylish interior with plenty of seating and a few outdoor tables. The cashier was very helpful in answering all my questions and I decided on a Philosophy Matcha, I added extra fold foam to treat myself! You can see the staff whisking away and so it does take some time to get your drink, but I certainly did not mind waiting for quality. When I was waiting, I could see groups of people filing in and standing in line, quite the popular spot! My drink was slightly sweet with a hint of vanilla and the cold foam was very decadent (just how I like). The prices are a bit steep for NM but again, you're paying for quality. Heard good things about this new matcha place so my friends and I came to try. It's an aesthetic spot and I was so excited to get a sweet drink! We tried the strawberry, ube, and regular matcha...so so disappointing. The matcha was clumpy and so I tried to mix it up and stab at the clumps but it didn't do anything. Tried to enjoy the drink but even with all the matcha clumps I couldn't taste any matcha so that was confusing. The ube cream was very heavy in the sweetness and didn't mix into the drink at all, so it was like trying to mix oil and water together. LOVE!!! Homebody matcha has found a permanent home in Winrock Center, one of my favorite places to shop and spend my days off! The matcha is ceremonial grade, has amazing color and flavor. Their signature lattes are delicious, the blue coconut one was our favorite, the coconut complimented the matcha so well. Great location, close to the mall, outdoor shopping, uptown, the movie theatre, the list goes on! I know some people mention the wait time, but it's because they actually make the matcha fresh for each drink. They whisk it right there instead of pre-making it, so it does take a little longer, but that's to ensure the quality is there. You can really tell the difference compared to places that just pour from a batch. And seeing all the HATE toward management, and even some false accusations being spread, I honestly don't get where it's coming from, unless someone has a personal grudge or couldn't keep up with the level of quality that management aiming for. From what I can tell, management is trying their best to provide high-quality drinks while also listening to customer feedback and improving where they can. That's not easy to balance. I understand that sometimes letting someone go is necessary if they're not meeting expectations, it's part of keeping a business successful and continuing to grow. Every business has standards, and if those aren't met, changes have to be made. But when I see posts criticizing management, I can't help but wonder, would you rather keep an employee who doesn't meet expectations, or maintain higher standards to deliver better quality? At the end of the day, I'd rather support a place that takes pride in what they serve and holds a high standard, even if that means a little extra wait time. While I love supporting local - it's far more important to support ethical and kind businesses.
