After weeks of teasing on TikTok with that viral Dubai Pistachio Chocolate bar that I refuse to pay $40 for I discovered this place offered a similar bar for $20. Although steep I figured it was better than shelling out $40 for the one on TikTok. The staff was very friendly. They helped me find what I wanted. Not to mention the place was really nice. I loved the giant lava lamps!! The chocolate was excellent. You can tell they make a premium chocolate. The way it melts in your mouth is just savory, sweet, and remarkable. You can tell there's love in each batch. I mean bravo. Other than the parking situation it's a great spot. Fair warning tho if you plan on going in the afternoon and evening be prepared to park quite a ways. Parking fills up fast in that area. I'll definitely be returning. 10 out of 10 still recommend! I got their Oreo caramel apple. Inflation definitely happened! I remember the apples being seven or eight dollars but now it is $10 for one caramel apple which I think is kind of nuts! But I still will buy it because it is so refreshing to have the crisp green apple paired with the sweetness of the caramel and chocolate! They also got the viral Dubai chocolate ($20 per bar). The outer shell of the chocolate is kind of thin, so it is difficult to break into specific pieces. My sister liked how much filling there was because it made it more rich! I went to an event last night where the host had a wide variety of macaroons from the Chocolate Dude. I wanted to eat every one of them, but I had to share. Such willpower to hold me back! The one I had was iced in a white glazed icing with pink, white, and red nonpareils. I bit into it and savored every morsel. This place is cute and cozy. It's conveniently located on Route 66 the main drive there in Albuquerque next to all the other little shops. So great spot when walking around. They make all their items in house here. I got a little chocolate treat and it was tasty. My only complaint is that there is no prices posted. When I asked about the prices she said they are not listed and that she had the prices on her side and I would have to just ask about each item. I find that a little awkward and embarrassing to have to ask about each item so if I found something too expensive I had to just say oh well what about this item. But outside of that the place is really cute and the chocolate item I got was tasty and I would definitely return here again and try the coffee when I visit again. Maybe this is common practice for chocolate places and I don't know it so it's just new to me. On July 27th I placed a preorder for the viral Dubai chocolate bar. Today, July 30th I received a call, text and email saying my preorder was ready for pickup. Went to get my order and was handed a rather small bag. Got in my car and opened the bag to find a small package with two mini Dubai chocolate bars in it. I was highly disappointed because the product I received wasn't the one that was advertised on Instagram and on their website. As you can see in the pictures on their social media and website, the bar appears to be a decent size. Meanwhile the bar I got was two mini bars that fit into my hand. I go to their Facebook page to express my disappointment in the comment section of their post and they deleted my comments, and even blocked me from their Facebook page. What an unprofessional way to handle business. Please stop with the false advertisement! Put the correct pictures of your product on your website and social media! Don't waste $20 + tax on their chocolate bars, support a different small business instead. read more

This is one of my favorite places to end up at in Nob Hill. It happens nearly every time. Start the night with libations at any of the spots nearby...Tractor, Slice Parlor or Happy Accidents. Then, a stroll ensues, and down I walk, towards the Chocolate Dude. The smell of chocolate when you walk in is euphoric. It always brings a smile to my face. They have a nice selection of hand dipped/made chocolates that you can point at from a display case and have in your hands in no time! I love to get the chocolate covered marshmallows myself. The chocolate covered oreos are a nice treat and don't forget the hot cocoa. It's down right delicious. I tried something new on my last visit. Chocolate covered gummy bears! The service was very attentive and friendly. The chocolate is melted and mixed separately and foamed milk is added (non-dairy options are available). I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty quiet. I was immediately greeted and helped within seconds of walking in. I love the cute brick style entrance and the seating area. I picked up macaroons and a chai tea 12oz latte to go. In a chilly day like today there is nothing better than a well made chai. I visited there for the first time on January 2, 2025. I called first to see if they had chocolate fudge with nuts and they said they had it and other selections. I had already tried two other stores in town and was disappointed with the fudge. I walked in and the girl was immediately offering to help me. I didn't have to wait or try to get somebody's attention. She was friendly and I told her I wanted to try the fudge. So I bought a piece and sat down and ate it and it was out of this world!! I went back and got three more pieces to Go. The texture was perfect. It's not mushy. It's like my mother's homemade hand beaten fudge. I'm in heaven. They have lots of other stuff. I'd like to try like the Piñon covered caramel apple and the Piñon toffee. Service was amazing. Chocolate is amazing. This place is amazing. They have several different flavors ranging from mint, vegan dark chocolate, to pumpkin starting at $3. We were able to pick up our order the same day, but due to high demand, pick up was only after a certain time. But, staff was friendly and efficient about bringing out the order. My mom got me $3 white chocolate pumpkins. They had good flavor and it was fun to watch the marshmallows come out. The one did have a slight crack at the top though. Truffles are good, also a nice variety of sweets and coffees. Not as much dark chocolate options as some other places in town. If you want to pick out all the flavors yourself, truffles are $3 each. It was a bit confusing because usually you pick a box size of 4,6,8 etc... but here you can just fill up a box with as many or few as you want unless you take a pre-packaged assortment. The Mexican mocha was very good, more chocolate in it than I was expecting. Parking was a bit difficult, had to go around a couple times and ended up paying for street parking. Our order: 2x Piñon Dark Chocolate Clusters 2x Piñon Milk Chocolate Clusters 2x Amaretto Truffles 2x Pistachio Dark Chocolate Clusters 2x Pecan Clusters Milk Chocolate 1 Green Chile and Lime Truffle. You can taste the amaretto in the truffles, which is hard because sometimes chocolate can be overwhelming. The green chile & lime had a nice little kick at the end, it was not overpowering. The clusters were all very good. They are all of a very nice size. I think dark chocolate pairs better with pistachio and milk chocolate pairs better with piñon. The reason that I'm only giving 4/5 stars is because the price is quite high. The truffles are fairly steep for their normal size. I'll choose this local place over any of those airport or mall chocolate companies, all day everyday. I just wish that this location had a discount for bulk, veterans, and/or specials that drive business. We paid upwards of almost $40 for the above order. It's quite heavy. ChocolateDude not only offers a great selection of delicious chocolates, but also some unique chocolates using local foods like pistachios and green chiles. The shop had a fun, coffee shop type vibe. The register area looks like the front of a VW bus which was cute. There were several tables up front for those that want to enjoy their chocolates on site. This would be a fun spot to come with a friend for dessert. There were at least four large cases that were fully stocked with freshly made chocolates and chocolate covered foods. Employees were being the cases actively making the chocolates and stocking the cases in the middle of the day. For those looking for a gift they have a few shelves of boxed chocolates and goodies ready to go. In the chocolate category they offer lobos, nut clusters, truffles, barks, toffee, and brittles. They offered a nice selection of fudge too. There are also chocolate covered goodies like marshmallows, apples, chips, graham crackers, and pretzels to name a few. The pricing on everything was very reasonable and lower than most chocolate shops I've visited in other cities. The Pistachio Lobo (caramel, pistachios, and chocolate) was delicious. It was large enough to make two servings for me. The caramel and chocolate were both creamy and delicious. Green Chile Pistachio Brittle was both interesting and delicious. Nob Hill is a cool area to check out when in Albuquerque. The places here have a hip vibe and Chocolate Dude is no exception. With paintings of rock legends and even a lava lamp (yes, talk about nostalgia), this place made you feel right at home - not that my home has a lava lamp (but it did during my teen years #emoforlife). The chocolates here are very good. I actually grabbed some chocolate caramels and chili brittles to give friends back home. The brittle had a kick of spice at the end but very nice. And the price was great. We also had hot chocolates which were great. I want to start by saying that we went for the Dubai chocolate which is amazing, but none was ready, so we opted for a few other things, one being the green Chile pistachio brittle, OMGOSH this is the best brittle I have ever had! But here is the not so great part, we drove over which was a bit of a drive but still worth it because my three granddaughters were super excited to go and get some tasty treats. I spent over $40 there, but decided not to leave a tip, because we did not sit in the store, it was purely take out. But heres the thing, as soon as she realized there was no tip, we got the deep freeze. I was disappointed because it really is good. But not sure I will return. We stopped in for the first time today to check it out. There was one other customer in the store and she was seated as she had already gotten her coffee. The guy behind the counter mumbled something under his breath as we browsed but turned around to busy himself with sorting things. We had a few questions on the chocolate but couldn't catch his attention to ask. When he finally asked if he could help us, I explained this was our first time in the store and we weren't sure what to try. We asked if they had any complimentary samples or if he had anything that he would recommend we start with. Unfortunately, he got stuck on the world "samples" and he became quite short and just said "No samples right now." We decided it wasn't worth it to invest our time and money in trying something when it was like pulling teeth just to purchase a piece of chocolate. As you can see from my photos, we were there quite a long time as I was able to photograph all of the display cases as we looked at everything and waited for help.
