We've been shopping here for years. Good chocolate but their prices are astronomical! See's Candies (my favorite) is $34 per pound. This store is $44.00 per pound. Paid $46.00 for 2 caramel apples and 4 dark chocolate turtles. The apples had a paper thin coating of caramel. Had to buy extra caramel. Even the turtle had plenty of walnuts but less than 1/2 teaspoon of caramel. Good service but won't be going back anytime soon. read more

As someone who has traveled a lot and gotten lots of ice cream I can put this up against some of the better ice creams I have eaten across this great land. They make their own ice cream but also candies, chocolate, er, chocolates and more. A big surprise - the young lad behind the counter was enthusiastic and helpful. After nearly a year of living in ABQ, hubby and I decided to try this little ice cream shop right around the corner from our house. I am constantly in this shopping center, at the corner of McMahon and Unser and for some reason we've just never stopped... but we did today. I'm not a huge fan of the exterior. The windows are completely wrapped and you can't see inside and ultimately that's probably the reason we never stopped in... but boy do I wish we had sooner! Upon entering and crossing the threshold of the door I was immediately greeted by this intense smell of sweet goodness! The air was filled with most decadent scent of pure bliss and it took me a minute to begin looking around because I was just soaking up every sense I could! Although we were there for ice cream we took a stroll around the store that was filled with the cutest candies and treats! We were greeted by an employee at the ice cream freezer who was very friendly and eager to provide us samples! She explained that the ice cream was fresh made in store and that they have staples and rotating flavors. We ended up getting a slew of flavors... cherry, s'mores, mint chip, butter pecan and almond joy! Holy smokes! We were in ice cream heaven and overload all at once but had to try all of our faves! Every single flavor was delectable; creamy, smooth and the yummiest of flavors. The s'mores had this smoky flavor that worked perfectly but was something I'd never tasted in s'mores Ice Cream before! The smoky flavor was not too overpowering and the was perfect touch and amount to elevate the flavor! The almond joy was also incredible! Tasted just like almond joy. Everything was heavenly! We will definitely be stopping back thru again soon and I'm excited for the next round of seasonal flavors! The employee told me that they have a biscoff ice cream that comes around that is super popular; I can't wait to try it!!! read more

We've passed by this place so many time and finally stopped in for my birthday! The girls working were super friendly and told us all about the ice cream options and toppings and the specials on the chocolate and candy that day! We ended up just getting a few sccops of mint chocolate chip. There's something so rich and creamy about the ice cream! Literally the best ice cream we've ever had. & my husband said his waffle cone tasted really fresh. There are quite a few places around town that serve soft serve or frozen yogurt, but much more rare is real ice cream. Thick and creamy, actual ice cream is near impossible to find if you're looking local especially. I really enjoyed the sweet cream ice cream here at ChochGlitz & Cream. The real downside being that it is way way out on the West Side which for me a drive to Santa Fe is almost quicker than going all the way out to Unser in Rio Rancho. They have a good variety of chocolates and other sweets, very similar to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Honestly, kind of like Rocky Mountain and Cold Stone had a baby. They offer a smaller selection than the chains but the basics are there and I won't complain. Again, don't find myself way out there that often but I would totally go again. They make the ice cream on the premises. It is really quite good. Creamy, not overly sweet, and pleasing to the taste. The service is good. One of the times we were there, a person with obvious mental illness was causing a bit of a scene, but they handled quite professionally. Their chocolates did not match up with the ice cream as far as taste and quality. They were pretty average but the price was not - they were quite expensive for what the product delivered. This place has some of the best chocolate I've ever had in my life. (and I'm picky about chocolate!) It's extra smooth and super creamy. The staff is always friendly and I like that they are open fairly late. It's a little pricy but because it's so good I think it's worth it. Try the chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate covered caramel crispy bars, chocolate covered cheesecake, or chocolate covered key lime pie. Oh and the ice cream is amazing too! read more

Mango orange passion ice cream home made and it is the bomb. So it is a small shop but the chocolate is amazing. Staff are very friendly and will talk about more than just ice cream and chocolate. You can get ice cream by the pint. So it is not 31 flavors but they do change out flavors often. I not a dark chocolate fan but love white chocolate and strawberries. One problem is no restroom so you can't wash your hands or after you eat your ice cream and need to go bad you better just go outside by the bushes. read more

Perfect! They sell other desserts too, and now I wish I bought some to eat at home. Only downside to this place...they have no bathroom which I think is super weird. My kid needed to wash her hands after eating and she couldn't. We did, we loved our experience, here's how it went down. First, I bunny hopped on their website where I perused a few basket options, ranging $30-50. We were shopping for a little kid and a big kid, and after picking what we thought would suit each of 'em, we called. The woman on the other line was very sweet, patient, and we customized two $30 baskets with a few extras, like carmel corn and little chocolate bunnies. Final cost with tax: $75. Final baskets: 5 stars. The curbside process was awesome in this distanced era, I called when I landed in the parking lot and they were outside, dropping everything in the back seat, minutes later, dressed head-to-toe in protective layers. But this is really the best part of the experience: last night, last minute, my neighbor asked me where she should get some candies for her kiddo, and I told her to call Chocglitz. Dianne did, and they were ready with my order, today, so we saved an unnecessary social outing. When the goods were delivered, the woman said, "Hey, I have the box for your neighbor, Dianne, as well, and I just want you to know that we decided on a very specific set of treats, here. Wow! I know it's taken this long to try this place but I was so glad I finally did. It's nice to have something so close to my house. Everything is homemade there. From ice cream to candies and chocolate dipped fruits, bananas, cheesecake, and Oreos! We got the strawberry ice cream which had chunks of fresh strawberries throughout! So delicious! We also bought the white chocolate dipped toffee and a pecan caramel apple which they so delicately sliced for us. Lastly I got my son the Star Wars solid chocolate candies which were also exquisite. This is my first visit to ChocGlitz & Cream, which is on the southwest corner of Unser and McMahon on Albuquerque's westside. The first thing that struck me was the décor, which I thought was fantastic. It was both decorative as well as having a warm and inviting atmosphere. There are tables inside as well as some outside. Today happened to be their third anniversary, so they were celebrating by having a single scoop of ice cream for free. I had a dark chocolate with nuts scoop on a cone, which was nice. It was very busy, but I presume that's more due to their third anniversary. Future visits will tell. After we enjoyed our ice cream we explored. We found chocolates of all sorts as well as specialty candies. My wife and I purchased some delicious truffles for later. And I same a Millennium Falcon made of dark chocolate. Just had to get that. We agree that ChocGlitz & Cream is a place we will return to. I'm looking forward to that. read more

Over the summer one of our neighbors made homemade pizza for 1st responders, medical personnel etc. included with the pizza was ice cream donated by Chochlitz & Cream. I have to admit both were delicious. Fast forward 6 months and we're on the hunt for something sweet. Decision made to return the favor and visit the business. It's a small shop, with ice cream, chocolates, fudge caramel apples & corn, various frozen treats. So much to choose from - what to get? I settled on a piece of milk chocolate caramel and rocky road ice cream. We also got ruby chocolate covered strawberry wafers and chocolate with mix-ins ice cream. The freshness of our treats were evident, and they were delicious. An added bonus was for a specialty shop they were reasonably priced. Our total bill was less than $20. I live in the area and this is my go to for sweets! Me & the family love this place. They have the best treats, very consistent , friendly service , just the absolute best. I love their chocolate gummy bears and chocolate covered marshmallows. It's a hit or miss when I get the marshmallows at Rocky Mountain because sometimes they are good, sometimes I can't even bite into them, they are so hard but here they are soft all the time. Only change I would make is I wish they came covered in peanuts like the ones at Rocky Mountain. I will come almost everyday when I know they have their lemon poppy icecream in stock. The people here are great, the lady even brought my chocolate out to me and took my payment because I called and said my baby had just fallen asleep. Exceptional service doesn't get better than that! Fortunately, even our governor and mayor seem to agree that chocolate supply is a truly essential service, as ChocGlitz & Cream is open during the COVID-19 crisis. The shop has a hard limit of 3 customers at a time, so it is highly recommended to review their website and call ahead to talk to the amazing staff. For mental health reasons, I went there live and in-person yesterday. Not only was I able to get some absolutely stellar small-batch chocolate-covered fruit, thus boosting my vitamin C and getting the anti-depressive benefits of theobromide in one fell swoop, the fabulous proprietress joked with me, sharing some absolutely vital good humor. The grab-and-go freezer is currently empty of display items for safety purposes, but they still have their full selection of pre-packaged pints & quarts of some of the tastiest ice cream in the city. We could also have taken home my favorite cheesecake-on-a-stick, and goodness knows, I'm going to be tempted to order that ahead the next time being shut-in becomes too much for me. read more
