I happened to be driving by when I saw the huge sign of an ice cream cone - I knew I had to check it out. This place has very good ice cream. I had Holy Cannoli and Red Velvet. The Holy Cannoli was really good since it had a rich and creamy base and was well-balanced with sweetness and tanginess. The Red Velvet was good, although it really didn't taste like typical red velvet to me. There are many flavors offered and I think they rotate them depending on the season or trying out new items. They don't allow you to sample, which isn't great. The place has a nice aesthetic and I appreciate the indoor and outdoor seating available. read more

This homemade ice cream shop is popular! There were so many customers when I stopped by a weekday evening. I really liked the fun feeling...like a kid being in a candy store..except..this one was an ice cream shop! There were so many flavors to pick from....except it was hard to decide as there weren't images/glass window for me to see what the ice cream looked like (granted, they had a note posting that we could feel free to ask for tasting first!). I ended up ordering a hot fudge brownie sundae, with a baklava ice cream and pistachio heath. The price was VERY reasonable...and the serving was just huge...definitely way larger than what I was expecting. Now, I only gave it 3 stars..just because I felt the flavors could have been stronger...and I somehow found the ice cream to be wayyyyy too sweet that the sweetness came first as a flavor and kind of hid the actual flavor of the ice cream. I ended up throwing out 1/3 of the serving..because I couldn't really finish all the large serving they had..and felt it was wayyy too sweet for me. Ahhhh Burque Licks. They have the worst parking lot on earth, but some of the most delicious ice cream in town. The first time we went to Burque Licks, I was super irritated because these half dressed girls were smoking weed and doing a photo shoot literally blocking the front door, so we had to walk through a weed cloud to get in. This isn't necessarily their fault, but it was something that immediately turned me off to this place. But we went in, got ice cream and boy is it delicious. If you know me, you know I love chunky ice cream and it sure does deliver. Lots of mix ins, and a great variety of flavor. I can't wait to try more flavors as time goes by! Went grudgingly to the back to talk to someone and came back with 'you can't have -thing my companion was ordering-' when i'd asked if i could have /anything/ off the menu. So I asked about the most innocuous one and they were like 'sure, i guess'. Fam, my allergens are not a GUESS. I'm lucky mine are all gastro related but what if someone's were ER related?! That's nuts. If you have allergens I don't recommend here at all. It earned 2 stars because my companion's ice cream they said was delicious and unique. So go here if you have no allergens. The curb appeal of this place is amazing! Love all the colorful tables and chairs in front; around the side by a walk up window. There's a great photo op out front too. I was a bit, overwhelmed by the amount of homemade flavors that they offer, but once I saw a mango habanero I was sold! The dip was incredibly large and the mango to habanero ratio was perfect! We discovered this place one night coming home from seeing a film. We have a friend who lives in the neighborhood, just south of Lomas. The ice cream is great with a nice selection, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. It's a very busy place even at 9 o'clock at night. The reason I only gave it four stars is because although it's a nice interior and they have an outside "patio" (you can even order from their window off the patio) they're so busy that they're not able to maintain the tables and spaces where you sit to enjoy your ice cream seems like they've given up maybe even trying. Of the multiple times we've been there. We've had to clean a table off, and that includes trash stickiness where ice cream melted onto the table, to be able to sit and enjoy our treats. It would be so much more inviting if they could maintain the cleanliness of the place between their guests... which I get is difficult because of the high & rapid turnover. read more

I got the apple crisp and it was delicious. The crisp was hot with apple slices. The ice cream was vanilla and delicious. My daughter got 2 scoops, one was churro and the other was pumpkin Oreo. The churro had chunks of churro in a cinnamon dulce deleleche ice cream. The pumpkin had a very strong pumpkin flavor with Oreo chunks. Bothe were delicious. The indoor area was very clean. Super friendly staff and they let you sample flavors before you choose. All the flavors I had were great! Cap'n crunch was probably the surprise of the flight, it was really good! I recently tried this spot on opening day, my partner and I had been waiting for this spot to open up as I am a big ice cream fan. I say this to say that I know it's opening day so they are still figuring out the processes. We only happened to try the window service since we weren't entirely sure the process. After we had already ordered our ice creams, we decided to go inside the building. That's when we realized there's even a fuller larger menu inside. It was jam packed so we'll definitely need to come by to try other menu items. In terms of ice creams, I tried a vegan Oreo cubano and salted caramel. These flavors are RICH! I love Oreos in ice cream but wow they don't skimp on the amount of Oreos in it. I ended up having to save it in a bowl since it was melting and almost too much for me that I couldn't eat anymore. The waffle cone though is very tasty! All in all, cute spot and look forward to trying it again. Maybe going more for a sherbert or something smaller. It's the middle of summer, hot, and with the need for something cold. Lucky us, Burque Licks recently opened to find relief from the heat. The place was colorful, vibrant, and moderately crowded. You have the choice of ordering and sitting outside and inside, so choose wisely. We chose to get our ice cream indoors, but our table was dirty. It seems that most tables were. Everyone looked busy, getting people's orders and getting the out quickly. This may have been the reason why table cleanliness was being neglected. The ice cream flavors range from usual to exciting and we got a good range. The options are vast with cones to sundaes to milkshakes. I ordered a flight, which had 4 flavors to choose from. I got the raven, burque burn, mango, and honey baklava. The hubby got a waffle cone with m&m pieces and two scoops: banana pudding and unholy cannoli. All scoops were big and blasting with flavor and creaminess! The cone was definitely sturdy. My rank from best to ok were Burque burn, banana pudding, honey baklava, raven, and unholy cannoli. Of note, the Burque burn was mostly vanilla with a tingling addition of green chile that hit the right spots. Overall, we got a delicious relief from the summer heat in a colorful place that was buzzing. The employees were super busy but greeted us with smiles and got us our cones quickly. Indoor seating was full but we found a spot outside. Been wanting to try this place forever and I finally was in the area so I jumped on my chance. Went around 3:30 pm on a Friday. I was able to get parking but there was a long line inside- it went by pretty fast though and the long line makes sense because the ice cream is amazinggg! I dropped in on a Saturday evening with plenty of a crowd. At first, I tried to order from the walk up window, but nobody ever appeared. So I wondered inside and entered the queue with two places to order for a time. Neither was manned, but eventually, I got through to make an order. I think everyone is relatively new behind the counter, but all very courteous and enthusiastic mini wearing "summer of no violence and 'Burque licks ' T-shirts, btw this is the only way I knew they were employees! Two hard-working guys scrubbed all the patio furniture after everybody left. Parking is a bit tight, but if you are patient the Ice cream all well worth it The creamy delight I had blue raspberry and chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone. I think it was hard to keep all the new ice cream refrigerated well so they gave me a cup in case it dripped too much. I went yesterday around 4:30 waited at the outside windows for minutes as there a family with kids infront of me. as soon as they were done I went to step fowrd the young man slammed shut the window with out saying a word. I waited for a while.... nothing. So I walked around to the front where I see another yound man cleaning out side. said nothing. I walk in got a weird behind the counter hello. and that was it. I was inside a good 7 min while I heard talking behind the glass but that was it. and the yound man from out side came in and still nothing saw me waiting there. I get that there was I guess 2/3 of them but I was one person the very least they could have doen was too let me know they knew I was there and they would be with me. There was only a group of 3 ahead of me in line, but it took almost 15 minutes from the time that we got there to when I got my ice cream. Service was kind of slow, as there was no order as to which orders came out first and they stopped taking orders for awhile to decorate cones. A gal that had ordered after me got hers first, even though her order was a little more complex with a milkshake. The flavors rotate, which is nice and everything is homemade and unique. The ice cream itself was great. My dad got a scoop of the apple butter oatmeal for $4+ and I got a scoop of the pumpkin oreo and the samoa for $6. I was expecting little scoops, but I got two massive scoops in a cup with real chunks of cookies (oreos and samoas) in mine. I came here with some friends when they first opened it and it was busy but love the decor inside. The staff were friendly even when it was super busy with lines out the door. Their lines are a bit confusing as there are two counters to order from and they snake around each other. I got two scoops in a waffle cone and it was so good! I came here a second time to show my husband the delicious ice cream and that experience wasn't great. I ordered from the outside window and it took me 10-15 min to get my order. First off, there wasn't a staff member at the window but I could see inside and made eye contact with staff multiple times but none came to the window. Finally, someone had come and said "I'll be right back." He comes back and asks what I want to order but there wasn't a menu at all so had to look it up on Yelp for the flavors. As I was looking at the flavors, he said, "I'll be right back, I need to take another order." He leaves. 5 minutes later, someone else comes and takes my order... it came out quickly but how are people supposed to know what they want if there wasn't a menu at all outside? Lots of unique flavors open until 930, but even when it's not busy it is dirty inside and out. I want really badly to like this place, but the product is not consistent. A different size cup every time I go and I have seen a single scoop with three times more ice cream than served when you order a hot fudge sundae. This will be my last time for at least six months maybe by then they will work out the kinks. I was her last week we arrived at 915 and got our ice cream about 922 and they were kicking us out at 930 on the dot before we could finish our ice cream, so then we moved outside and within two minutes we were kicked off the patio seating as well. We finally made it to Burque Licks and were excited to try a variety of flavors. Overall, it was a good experience, with a couple of standouts. One thing that immediately stood out was the portion size. The scoops were huge--honestly, one scoop here was probably the equivalent of two scoops at many other ice cream shops. Definitely a great value. We sampled five flavors: * Land of Enchant-mint - This one was a bit disappointing. It had plenty of Andes Mint pieces and chocolate chunks, but the ice cream itself tasted more like green vanilla than mint. If you're looking for a strong mint flavor, this one may leave you wanting more. * Mango - We originally wanted a sorbet, but the cashier wasn't sure whether this was a sorbet or an ice cream, which was a little surprising. It turned out to be ice cream. While it wasn't exactly what we were expecting, it was still smooth and enjoyable. * Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - A solid choice with generous chunks of cookie dough and plenty of chocolate throughout. * Coffee Toffee - This was the favorite of our group. The coffee ice cream was rich and creamy and loaded with crunchy toffee bits in every bite. * Cookies & Cream - If you're an Oreo fan, this one's for you. The flavors are creative--banana pudding, raspberry Oreo, Christmas Tree Cake--but I decided to go for the pistachio heath bar, topped with hot fudge. My ice cream was well-balanced with plenty of huge pistachio chunks. Pistachio purists might not like the artificial green coloring, but it was fine for me.
