Fro-yo (the recession indicator) is so back. The ice cream here was delicious, but the stand outs are totally the unique sundae combinations they have on the menu. My friend got the banana pudding - which was so yummy. I got a kinda traditional hot fudge situation, which was very good, but there was so much fudge it kinda melted the ice cream. If this is my only plight in life, I'll be ok. No indoor seating, but some tables outside. I believe no bathroom, too. They only had one person in there working while we were there, but she got it all done super quick. read more

Cute little shop around the corner on Alvarado and just south of Calendaria by a few steps. Our google maps got us to the strip of stores on Calendaria and we almost missed this adorable little place... The owner was there to serve our needs - cones and cups of delicious ice cream treats. There is a wall mural of a painted pony outside on the shop wall - be sure to capture a pix - nice photo op. Prices seemed on point with other places in town. They are located in an itty bitty store around the corner from a strip mall on Menaul Blvd. There's a small row of stools at the window and a few chairs, but it can get tight in there if there's lots of customers! Stopped in last week for a dubi Sunday .. great portion size & lots of crunch . Perfect amount of chocolate.. the soft serve is made from real milk form rasband dairy which is local .. the only thing I do not like about this place is its cashless , so there for- they add the 3-5% fee to their price. instead of letting the customer choose to save some money by using cash . And not be forced to pay additional for using a card .. I would visit more often if I could pay with cash .. they say it's for safety I sorta get that but . You should keep the sign and let people who want to pay with cash pay with cash- the processing fee. Most people do not even realize all the 3-5% extra they pay when using a card everywhere they go .. wasting money read more

Let's just be honest here haha ... we went twice in one week! This was our first time trying pink Pony and went back three days later! The first time I got a sundae "Mah Favorite" the swirl soft serve with Carmel, bananas and a delicious cherry WOW! Wife got a chocolate ice cream with pistachio, dusting, and sea salt with a vanilla toasted marshmallow. Second visit wife got the same thing and I got a vanilla cone dipped in cherry now that was 100% phenomenal! I've been here a couple of times and I really like it. The soft serve is high quality and the selection of toppings is varied and enticing. On my most recent visit I overheard them accommodating a customer's allergy and also noticed they had individually wrapped lactaid pills for sale, so they're definitely doing their part to make sure anyone who wants to enjoy their wares is able to! The only thing I could honestly complain about is that it's a small space and a bit cramped when it's crowded, but that's not something that I would base a rating on. read more

The shop is super cute, clean and bright. The owner & one employee are extremely sweet and helpful- even with a full shop they always have your ice cream in hand quickly and ever so kindly. I can't speak enough on what a wonderful place pink pony is! I am extremely partial to the banana pudding sundae- but you can't go wrong exploring the menu. Their topping list is extensive and will definitely be back to try a new flavor combination after the first visit. Albuquerque has been a desert for delicious local ice cream shops, and I know I'm late to the game on pink pony! I was so happy to find this place when I moved back to NM. Delicious creamy ice cream and INCREDIBLE toppers, the homemade marshmallows are amazing and I love the variety they have on their menu. Service was great, woman working the counter was kind and knowledgeable and helped everyone in the shop in a timely manner. It was busy for a Wednesday night 30 minutes before close, and she handled the volume like a champ! 4.5 stars I had been seeing a lot of chatter about Pink Pony from my boss and in the "ABQ Foodies" group on facebook. My first thought was that it was just simple soft serve, but it was so much more than that. The shop was around the corner from the main shopping center, so it was a little confusing to find at first. There is some seating inside and some benches outside, but as popular as this place was with seeing everyone come in and out, I think that should definitely be the main point of expansion. My mom got a root beer float and I the s'mores sundae (~$7). The marshmallows and toppings are all homemade (and the marshmallows come in several flavors). They offer selection of soft-serve ice cream with a variety of toppings..and I was so mesmerized by so many interesting toppings that they offer. I tried their Italiano Sundae cup (vanilla softsetve with olive oil, sea salt..and roasted hazelnuts)...and i asked if I could add a lil bit of sesame paste too. .and wow...I love such unique combinations of things that I wouldn't even think of trying on my own...but the sundae simply had my taste bud exploded that I wonder if I could try to imitate some of the toppings for my ice cream consumption at home even! I love this shop. Such interesting combo of things to explore..and even if you are a lil plain type of person .they still have your regular/more common toppings for you to try, too. I will definitely stop by this local dessert gem again for sure! P.S. this shop is located at the same spot as Tonari no Mise shop that closed down a year ago. I asked the staff at Pony Pink if they were somehow related..but the answer was..no..I think that Japanese family relocated to New Zealand (!) post COVID era already. I love me some soft serve, and Pink Pony hits the spot! I got the swirl option in a cone with sprinkles and a toasted marshmallow, and it was amazing. The waffle cone was fresh and really tasty, and I loved the chocolate coating inside of it. But really the toasted marshmallow was the star of the whole thing. It was thick and gooey, and I would just eat 10 of those if I could. The soft serve did melt pretty quickly though, so when I go back, I'll likely get a cup with it.
