Was craving a savory dessert and glad to have found TeaSu! We ordered 3 flavors of their Korean shaved ice. The strawberry one is our top favorite so far. Well flavored with adequate amount of graham cracker topping. The mango shaved ice was pretty good as well, but lacked actual mangoes in it. We are used to the Korean mango shaved ice from California that has a lot of mangoes in the bowls. But it's also out of season I think, so that's taken into consideration. The Taro shaved ice was okay. We really liked the very crispy coconut flakes and red bean topping. Will definitely have to return to try their other flavors. Service was acceptable. The young girl was friendly while taking orders. The man making the shaved ice was friendlier in interaction. Ambiance is clean and simple. Didn't play their video games but they seemed to be off when we went. I love love love teasu. I always get the same thing, a taro bingsu with boba. The texture, the flavors, it's the full package. A one of a kid in abq- (for real, I don't think there any other Korean shaved ice spots in town. But boy oh boy you gotta try it. Portions are large but not crazy filling cuz, ya know- ice. I really enjoyed my time here. The shaved eyes is different from other eyes that I've had. The shit I've had in Denver usually is just frozen melt that shit and then a sweet drizzle, but this shaved ice is actually having all the ingredients blended together and then frozen and shaved. So I really enjoyed the ambience as well as the service. There's a very super cute wall with a bunch of sticky notes on it that you can add a nice drawing too, and it really made our night. Teasu is a great place for Boba and snow shaved ice. I have been here a few times and thought the drinks were all great. I never drink boba as often anymore..and found the price on a slightly expensive price (~$7 without taxes/tips) The only thing would be that they don't really have food/snacks to try, so you should go there for drinks/shaved ice desserts (not a problem, because next to the establishments, there are few other restaurants anyways). Overall, I like that you can always find parking in a large parking lot. Five stars for the bingsu! It was pretty amazing - made with a machine that makes the "snow" - consistency is different than shaved ice. We had the mango one as well as the taro with graham crackers option. Delicious. On the other hand, the drinks and boba were just ok. So four stars averaged out haha. I really wanted to like this place, and I was also super excited to try them because they were highly rated and I don't know where else in ABQ that sells Bingsu. BUT, I was very disappointed.. When I first walked in, I wasn't greeted, and when I went to order, I asked the gal what Bingsu she recommended and all she said was, "they're all good" (very monotone, as if my question was an inconvenience to her). So, I asked to order the Mango, but they were out of the strawberry topping (Which was a bummer because the next one I wanted to try was the strawberry Bingsu). I ended up ordering the Taro Milk Tea with Black Boba and Oreo Bingsu to share with my significant other. The boba was super hard, taro milk tea tasted like sugar water, and the bingsu tasted like shaved sugar milk with chocolate dirt (Nothing had flavor and basically just tasted like sugar + milk or sugar + water). Not to mention, I was under the impression that it would be "served with sweetened condensed milk" like it says on the menu. Needless to say, I ended up only drinking half the milk tea and throwing it away. On the plus side, the place seemed decently clean and the gal told me to have a good day (unenthusiastically). Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place unless you don't mind sugar water. I would consider coming back to give them another chance. Stopped in at this place in a strip mall upon my daughters recommendation. We order two bingsu's one being mango and the other was strawberry. I also had a hot matcha tea and my daughter had a red bean tea with boba my husband and other daughter had a a strawberry bingsu and a mango bingsu which tasted wonderful my kids have actually been to Korea and stated the bingsu was double the size and half the price we paid here in Albuquerque....maybe in the future. I have been trying the boba tea and Asian dessert places around town one by one. They've all been fun to try, but I tend to confuse them as they have similar offerings usually. However, TeaSu has these amazing shaved ice ice cream sundae creations- bingsu, that are so pretty and so delicious . Pictured is the mango one. With all the high reviews for TeaSu, I feel a little guilty giving my honest feedback and low rating - but I can only capture the experience I had. I am a boba fanatic and so traveling to New Mexico, I knew I had to find the best boba spots. With it's high average rating, I knew TeaSu would have to be the place to go. Upon arrival, there were only two employees working so it did take some time for orders to come out. However, the employees were very friendly and apologetic for the long wait. I ordered the oolong milk tea, half sweet, with pearls and the green tea bingsu (shaved ice). The bingsu comes with red bean and a chocolate drizzle. Unfortunately, both items were far from good. The bingsu's ice texture is on point - it's thin, melts in your mouth, and I appreciate the layering of the toppings/drizzle (shaved ice, toppings/drizzle, shaved ice, more toppings/drizzle). Where it get bad is the red bean. I at first was enjoying the shaved ice thinking it was a great sweet treat until I noticed a faint sour taste. I inspected further and tried each part of the shaved ice and located the foul taste - it was the red bean. The red bean was spoiled and sour and ruined the entire shaved ice experience afterwards. Next, the oolong milk tea had no taste of oolong at all and was absolutely watered down. I would describe the flavor of this drink as watered down milk. The first sip was bad. I gave it another sip just for the benefit of the doubt and had to throw away the drink. The pearls - mushy. Farthest from having any sort of tea flavor at all and unfortunately the worst milk tea I've ever had. I'm disappointed because I wanted to love it as others have - maybe it was just an off day or something but my experience was not good. Was craving some shaved ice. Came across this place. We got a matcha with roasted almond and taro with coconut stripes. Both are very tasty and flavorful. Syrup drizzle and the scoop of ice cream are the best mix into the shaved ice cream. It's made freshly so it does take some time to prepare. I have heard of this place from friends so I decided to try it out. I got a mango bingsu and a red bean drink with boba. The drink wasn't that good as I was expecting the red bean to be actual red beans versus paste. I could tell in the drink that it was a red bean paste which resulted in it not tasting that good. As for the mango bingsu, it was pretty good but there was some mango pieces that were super sour and hard. Some of the pieces I couldn't even eat, I had to spit them out. I had high expectations of this place, but it didn't follow through. This is the first time my friends and I came here. The matcha bingsu was good and the boba was pretty good too. I think that the oreo milk tea with regular boba was really yummy. The service was nice and the place seems clean. They have fun arcade games that my husband really enjoyed. They have simple decor inside but still nicely decorated. The bingsu was some of the best I have had in a while and very traditional, I studied abroad in Korea and I used to have bingsu all the time. Sorry to start with an aside, but this is necessary. My buddy Shay recently shared this Bingo graphic about, basically, cities that are on the "up-and-up". Some game squares included: axe-throwing bar, unused community garden(!), and Those Scooters. Yep, yep, and yeppers, that would be ABQ. So when a place like TeaSu lands in our area code I can't help but geek out at yet another newbie treat to land in my belly, in this case, the Korean iced delicacy, bingsu. Rather than further displacing minorities in this gentrifying area code, I thank you, TeaSu, for embracing our diversity and introducing me to a truly fluffy unicorn of a cold treat. After plenty of bites of the taro bowl, I texted a photo to my Asian food expert buddy, Kenny, describing it as "kinda like icy powdered sugar and cotton candy, and it holds up -- been eating for 10 minutes and it isn't melting." That's usually my frozen food buzz-kill, the meltdown, you know, like real Hawaiian shaved ice, it only remains majestic for a minute. Not this stuff. Paired with some creative takes on green and milk teas, including lychee jelly (yes), the stuff coming out of this kitchen is house-crafted on the spot and dee-liteful. They have cute stickers, too. And I still think they need to be listening to the customer base about where to go from here. My guess is, for long-lasting gentrifying merit, they'll need to add some American favorites to the menu and go the opposite direction as well, because easily half of the customer base, my observation, are Asian. That's a beautiful thing. Better yet, it's great to see local businesses succeeding in this heretofore franchise mall. I went with the mango passion fruit with mango boba although it made me a bit sad that there are no blended milk teas here they do have a variety of bingsu so if your in the mood for some shaven ice get one of those! My passionfruit tea was delicious it was sweet without being overwhelming and the popping of the mango boba bursting as you drink it is amazing. While the Strawberry fruit tea was a bit watered down, the Chocolate Bingsu was amazing! Served with brownies, bananas, ice cream, chocolate sauce, and condensed milk, the Chocolate Bingsu is definitely worth trying! We ordered the small size which was perfect for our group of three. Went to both the soft opening and grand opening. The inside was simple and some of the staff were friendly. Good place to hang out with friends and family and maybe to study there as well. Their boba is always the perfect texture. Wintermelon milk tea is one of my favorites. Also they probably have the best taro milk tea I've ever had. Very authentic since it's made out of real taro, not just the bright purple powder like most places. If you have a little more time on your hands, the taro bingsu is a must. It comes with Mochi balls, coconut flakes, red bean, and condensed milk. The regular size is more than enough for two people, even three. I still yet have to try the other flavors! read more
