Sadly, there was something wrong with the taiyaki machine when we came here, so we had to get the chibiyaki cat paws. It was a very cute compromise and since it tastes the same as the fish taiyaki, there wasn't a big difference to us. They coated the cup with Nutella as the filling, filled it with Ube soft serve, and topped it with Condensed Milk Drizzle and Biscoff Crumbles. It really hit the spot! I have a place by me that serves the same things and I do think it's a bit better than Neko Neko only because their ube soft serve has a stronger ube flavor and isn't as sweet. Neko Neko is simply my place for desserts when i feel nostalgic about childhood. I spent most of my childhood in Asia and a year of my formative learning year studying abroad in Japan..so..a treat like Taiyaki really does take me back in time in my younger years. I love that Neko Neko, while not cheap, is definitely one of the more affordable places and particularly for desserts in Sawmill. The taiyaki with Asian inspired flavors like ube, pansanor matcha and the an (red beans), along with toppings like matcha powder and mochi bites really hit home for me (not sure if they have kinako or sesame still). My family works right up the road, and it's hard not to make excuses to stop in and get a fish cone. There is always a revolving menu of flavors. Last I got honey flavored with nuts on top. I usually get matcha or vanilla, but sometimes you have to switch it up. There is usually a line, but that speaks to their quality! The staff treat you with respect and will allow you to try flavors, explain the new international tastes, and take their time with you. It's a place where you get your cone and go sit in the food court, outside, or take it to go. But the cost, always reasonable. 10/10 recommend (and I might be addicted) read more

I got the Oreos and the condensed milk drizzle. It was very yummy, creamy, and lightly sweetened which made it more enjoyable. It had a very satisfying Ube flavor. I was pleasantly surprised to find a taiyaki spot in Albuquerque! Swung by for a late afternoon snack and was surprised to find a line. After finishing my taiyaki, it was clear why there's a line. Very worth the wait! They have a ton of options, I went with Passion Fruit just because I wanted a little mix between sugary and tangy. Will def be returning to try the others though. They also have lots of options for toppings, but were out of mochi when I went. Will return for that too! Their soft serve is a good mix between soft and still frozen, so it's not melting and running all over by the time you get to the end. The actual taiyaki was pretty good too! I prefer mine a little more chewy but this is great for the price and location. It's a bit hard to find once you enter Sawmill, but it's near the Keva station if that helps. read more

They sell ice cream and two of their products come with a waffle fish dessert that can be bought as hand held dessert or in a cup to prevents spills and messed. Either way both can be filled with filling and toppings can be added. They definitely present the ice cream treat as something delicious and something you must try while being in the sawmill makert. It's a little bit pricey for an ice cream cone but worth it. Staff is friendly. Since it's inside the sawmill market it can get overwhelming with the extensive lines that happens occasionally.
