Rustic Bubble Tea is a cute small restaurant. I've only ever ordered boba, but hope to try their food. During the pandemic, dining hasn't been available. We've ordered many a slushies and teas. Most of the slushies are powered, so they tend to be on the sweeter side. The blended drinks are always smooth and creamy. The boba texture is decent. A little tough, but not bad when I froze my matcha boba for later. My favorite drinks are Rose and Matcha. Next time, I could ask for less sweet. Our all time favorite boba place in Albuquerque!! We have tried most every boba shop in town and always find ourselves craving Rustic and coming back for more! Our favorite is the snow bubble and there are so many different flavors and being able to have more than 1 flavor, there are so many combinations that you could do. And for most of my lunchtime or dinner, or when craving hits me, I usually order their amazing Pho. I've gone to different Vietnamese restaurants but I love their Pho the most. They just have the tastiest Pho ever. FYI, I brought my family and friends to this place. My husband doesn't like boba at all, but when he came across this place, sometimes he's the first one inviting me to get some milk tea here ( gives me giggles sometimes). Their food, on the other hand, is OK, not much more. It's great that they focus on Vietnamese cuisine, but their options are limited and really basic and limited. Their food won't kill you and make you sick. The owners just don't seem to have a passion to make their meals more exciting. They don't really go out of their way to make these dishes more enticing, which is a bummer. If you want decent Vietnamese, there are plenty of good restaurants around town. This is the BEST bubble tea in Albuquerque! The tea was not bitter and still has the tea flavor. The boba are soft, flavorful and perfectly chewy. What we also discovered is the super delicious chicken wings, they are crispy full of flavor and moist. The pho here was discovered by my dad and mom. They came here to visit us from Orange county California where you can find hundreds of authentic Vietnamese restaurants, yet they ate pho here and they both raved about how good it was. We had to try for ourselves and it was really really really good. We have had pho in Boston, new York, San Jose, Orange county, in Vietnam also. This one holds it own. Can't speak for the food here as I haven't tried it before, so this review is based solely on their boba drinks. The first time I go to a new boba joint, I always get a plain milk tea with boba or a Thai tea with boba. These are my methods for measuring how great the rest of the flavors are. Hahaha. I've got both and they were both pretty yummy! I do have to say that the boba isn't as flavorful as I'd want it to be and the texture is a little too mushy. I expect my boba to be somewhat chewy, but the boba here is too soft. I've ordered a few smoothies as well and those are always great! Passion fruit is my favorite by far. I ended up ordering a lavender milk tea with regular bobas, mostly because I was curious what a lavender drink might taste like, and I really do like it. I'll definitely be back to try a green tea and some of their flavored "brushing bobas" - probably tomorrow! The seating area is clean, open, and has a relaxing vibe. Having spent a lot of his childhood in Latin America he had access to the freshest stuff you could get. We ordered the Passion Fruit Snowbubble with Boba to share and an order of the popcorn chicken. The drink was so fantastic, it was the perfect consistency, super fresh, the boba had a great texture and flavor, and the passion fruit flavor hit the mark. It had the perfect balance of tart and sweet but not too sweet! The chicken took a little bit to come out but I know why, it's because it was the freshest tastiest little chicken's that one could ever imagine. None of that frozen deep fried stuff here. The outside had a thin beautiful coating of mild spices and flour. They were delicately crispy and tender and moist on the inside. It came with a nice little side of duck sauce.
