Am I really in Albuquerque? Seriously. I'm from SoCal and am quite frankly a boba addict. If you mention a boba place in the OC/LA area, I most likely have had it. Also have had boba in NYC, Boston, the Bay area, Hawaii, and all over Asia! This shop looks like it could fit right at home in SoCal from the drinks to the decoration. They have 2 sizes I tried their thai milk tea and almond milk tea with boba. Boba was definitely on the chewier side, but still soft. It was good, but it doesn't even come close to Half and Half boba. The thai tea was good and not overly sweet like some of the other ones I have had. The almond milk tea was delicious, but not my favorite almond milk tea. I also tried their fried chicken, fried tofu, sweet potato fries, and regular fries. Although the fried chicken was mild spicy, there was no burn at all. The fried tofu was ok, but I think they need to add more sauce since the soy based sauce they drizzled on top didn't have a strong flavor and you primarily just taste plain tofu. Both the sweet potato fries and regular fries tasted normal. Service was decent. The drinks came out quickly, but the food took a little longer. There are a lot of tables and chairs. Location is off Lomas and Juan Tabo in a shopping plaza. It is slightly far to drive just for boba (assuming you're coming from the middle of ABQ) especially when you're used to it being under a 5 minute drive. read more

A legit boba café in Albuquerque that would hold its own in the Bay Area, where I've spent most of my time the past three years! I tried it today and was really impressed with the boba, which was perfectly chewy and gummy, much better than the hit or miss boba quality of Boba Tea Company. Teas were great even though the almond milk tea was a little too sweet for my liking. The peach green tea was delicious though. Their grass jelly also isn't as soft as I usually prefer but I am just happy there's a place in Albuquerque that offers it and other jellies as topping options. The ambiance is also trendy and friendly, and reminds me of places like Tea Lyfe in San Jose, which are great for doing work and hanging out with friends. They even have board games, which I thought was cute. Lastly the prices are way better than Boba Tea Company! Finally, a place that has decent milk tea boba in Albuquerque. I've been dying for a place like this, since I moved here from California. Boba Tea Company just doesn't satisfy my boba craving. I try to visit this spot pretty regularly, whenever I'm on the east side of town, considering its location. Parking never seems to be an issue, thankfully, as it is in a private lot shared by Hasting's, next door, and Subway, as well as various shops within the same plaza. I've tried several different milk tea flavor options, which were all great, including the Matcha Green Tea (my current favorite), Thai Tea, Hazelnut, and more. The only reason for the 4 star rating would be that it tastes a lot like boba flavors made straight from powder, instead of wholesome products. Of course, that's most likely just me being picky, but I can't help it. I've also had their snacks, which are pretty good, except that they haven't yet really gotten a grasp of the original "Taiwanese popcorn chicken," which, for the unfamiliar, is a very common and popular dish served at boba shops along the West Coast. I don't blame them, as I've been trying to re-create that dish at home for years, and it's definitely not easy. I love that they offer board games for entertainment! It's a great spot to bring your friends, enjoy some boba and snacks, and play some classic games to kill time. I will be returning soon, that's for sure! read more

I have only been here a few times. But... out of the few times I have been here, they were great. I'm from Southern California where within a 5 mile radius, there are at least 10 (maybe more) boba tea restaurants. So I sort of have high expectations. Generally smiley (but not creepy smiley) and happy to serve you. Black Milk Tea with Regular Boba: My top favorite boba drink when I go anywhere. $3.75 I think? I have to say that it's the best I've had in New Mexico, and better than some average boba joints in California. There has not been a time where they added too much or too little milk. Same for sugar. Tastes the way the way the famous "Milk Tea" should taste. The boba is evenly between soft and chewy, but not too chewy or too soft. It's flavorful and never dull. Atmosphere is soothing. There's a big chalk wall with beautiful drawings on it. Chairs are black and tables are a nice wooden brown. Theme flows throughout the dining space. The ONLY thing I don't particularly like is that there are smudges and hand prints on the wall. Now, I understand that customers can be rude and smudge the wall then add their handprint. But seriously? Someone worked hard on detailing the wall, then customers come along and tamper with it. It makes the wall less appealing. Now, I don't blame the employees for the smudges, but is it possible to have it fixed? Maybe with a more permanent chalk market that can be wiped off with a wet cloth? I don't know. Just a suggestion. Anyway. Overall this is my go-to boba joint and I recommend it to you if you're reading this and like boba drinks. read more

As a new purveyor of Bubble Tea I was happy to know that Rustic is conveniently located. I ordered a regular size Rasberry BubbleSnow (smoothie) with kiwi popping pearls (juice bubbles). It was DElicious!!! The atmosphere is simple and clean. They have hames you can play while you sit and enjoy tour sweet treat. The staff was helpful and friendly and the prices are resonable. The menu is a little overwhelming, but that just means you never have to order the same thing...if that's what you want to do of course. Over a great experience. In terms of their boba drinks and food. I ordered their Honey Milk Tea and my boyfriend ordered a Taro Slushy for the hot day. The drinks were good and the boba were not the right texture. Was planning to go to the subway next door, but this cafe stood out too much not to try it. The environment is super calm and perfect to just talk and Enjoy a nice afternoon. We were greeted and helped immediately and after we ordered food came out super quick. The spring rolls are huge and the peanut sauce that accompanied them was delicious. The egg rolls weren't my favorite, however they were pretty sizey too. Calamari was delicious when paired with their dipping sauce and Thai teas with boba were so refreshing. Only downfall is drinks are kind of pricey and just for the three appetizers I was at $30. Definitely worth the try they have so many options of drinks I would go back for. read more

I'm visiting from So Cal. I wanted to treat my niece and nephew to boba. They recommend Rustic. I'm all about supporting small businesses. But I'm giving this visit 1 star. We ordered 2 Thai teas with boba and 1 peach mango green tea with boba and grass jelly. There was only one person ahead of us and it took 25 minutes to make our drinks. The grass jelly was one huge chunk. I had to break it into smaller pieces with my straw. Very disappointed on my visit and I won't be coming back. read more

I love this place!! Quality is always good. There are many flavors to choose from. The lavender milk tea is my new favorite!! It was the coconut snowbubble with lychee bursting boba, which is also amazing. The taro snowbubble is a good one. The honeydew snowbubble and green apple snowbubble are both really good and refreshing too. Honeydew is my moms favorite. The kids like the slushes particularly the green apple with mango bursting boba. My daughter LOVES the rainbow jelly added to anything she gets. The service is wonderful and everyone is friendly. The place is clean and cheery yet relaxing. There are also games to play if you wish. Nice place to hang with friends or just read and enjoy your bubble tea. We have also tried some of the food but... The popcorn chicken was okay nothing spectacular or anything I would purchase again. The sauces were really good though. You can get your chicken and the fries in mild, medium, or spicy. I think the for the price you should at least get fries with your order. Price for the fries and chicken alone is a bit much. Wings were good and they do have days where they have specials on those. This is my new favorite spot for bubble tea in Albuquerque. I hate the prices and insufferable menu at Boba Tea Co, so I've been looking for something local to replace them. Rustic is a good option for sure. The prices are reasonable and they're open pretty late, and on top.of that the bubble tea is good. They have a number of options for flavors, flavored jellies, and in general what you'd expect from a good size bubble tea cafe. They also sell snack items, but I'm sad to report that egg puffs are not on the menu. The shop itself is very well kept and has a bit of seating inside. This is in a large strip mall so you won't have any problem parking, but it's not obvious from the street where Rustic is located. read more

I called ahead to see what vegan options they had. The owner answered the phone, asked when I'd be coming in, and then told me that he'd make a special vegan Pho for me for that night! When I arrived, they told me that they are willing to make it for me again if I give them a heads up. And it was amazing, absolutely delicious vegan, gluten free, fresh veggie goodness.
