My first time here, I had the iced chai with boba. Second time, I had the iced jasmine green tea with boba. Very good! My friend tried their pho, she said it was very good! This was my first time here, I had a green apple slush with boba. The boba was perfectly chewy with a great honey flavor. I really enjoyed my slush, I love green apple. I tried the popcorn chicken and fries, both spicy. They were cooked perfectly and were very crisp. They weren't too spicy, but there was plenty of sauce available to change that. The service was efficient. The cafe is very cute, students were there studying. Free WiFi was good. The tables are large with padded bench seating. I see this as a good study spot with a good variety of food and drinks. I'll be back for the boba. I feel that there boba selection is more authentic than some chains in town. read more

Ok, I'm too anxious not to write about my new crush! Seriously, as I was driving into the parking lot glancing at the store sign, it was as if I were to see someone I had a crush on face to face! I'm so happy the family opened such a store in ABQ, saving trips to CA for this Asian lady! They offer most Asian staple flavors. I can ask for gentle ice, light sweetness and don't feel like being demanding. And I must mention grass jelly as one of the "add on" options. You know one's got Asian in his/her genes when he/she orders that! It'd be probably frowned upon by those who don't know what it is. Read some Wiki with me: Grass jelly is made by boiling the aged and slightly oxidized stalks and leaves of a kind of mint with potassium carbonate for several hours with a little starch and then cooling the liquid to a jelly-like consistency.The jelly has a slight bitter taste, a light iodine and lavender flavor, and is a translucent dark brown or sometimes perceived to be black. Its name is waaaayyy more attractive in Chinese 仙草, which means "celestial grass." read more

Yay!! I love that Albuquerque has a REAL boba cafe. The teas are not too sweet and the bobas firm, not squishy. If you have never tried boba before, I highly recommend you try it for the first time at Rustic Bubble Tea Cafe. My go to's are almond milk tea or jasmine milk tea with boba. So delicious. I also love the cute decor and although I have never played them, the availability of a few board games to play. If I were still in school, I imagine Rustic Bubble Tea would be my favorite study spot. This place is the real deal and this is coming from a girl who lived in California for 20 years. read more

Fantastic bubble tea! We can't wait to come back and try out different combinations and the food options on the menu. We had a long morning of working out and playing worth our dog at the dog park and we're looking for something refreshing and fruity. I ordered a lychee slush with strawberry popping bubbles and it was so mellow and tasty. He ordered a special of sour cherry lime slush with popping orange bubbles. We had a side of egg rolls which were crispy and flavorful. The ambiance is clean and fun with boy band tunes playing and board and card games to play. Kind of a bare bones joint but I guess you don't need a whole lot to serve boba tea and a few snacks. It's nice and cozy though, they have 1 couch in addition to a window bar and regular tables. I got a peach milk tea with boba and the popcorn chicken. I'm critical of boba where ever I go...there's was slightly on the soft side but overall tasty. I liked the chicken too...slightly spicy and good chunks of meat! The prices are very good compared to other boba joints I've been to. A 16 oz is $2.99 and a 24 oz is $3.49...not too shabby. read more

I'm not a huge boba lover but this is far better than what I've had at the well known bubble company out there. They have a huge variety of teas and I wish I'd taken a picture of the one my son got because it was freaking delightful... I guess this gives me an excuse to go back and experiment until I find the right one? My only gripe is the staff is young and they all seem very attached to their phones. The service didn't suffer from this but I guess I'm old and set in my ways and it seemed... too casual? Rude? Unprofessional for sure. That said I'll be back and I'll give them a stern lecture in my head every time the tilt their head to look at whatever is so important. read more

Great place. Tea is as you'd hope for (which is a lot better than other Albuquerque boba tea places) and the food is surprisingly good.

After living in Hawaii, I had a difficult time finding a boba tea place that was in par with what I'd left behind. Rustic has filled that void! The tea tastes fresh, not stale or over brewed. The menu is large without being overwhelming. All the classic tea choices are available as well as some more innovative ones. The staff are friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is I have further to drive than I'd like, to get one! This is definitely my new "go to" boba tea place! read more

Their food and drinks are decent but inconsistent however they are very rude and unprofessional. Have been here several times because we moved from Tempe and wanted a place comparable to our old spot by ASU. Great atmosphere and they have games to play but are disgustingly dirty playing cards were black. Not sure we will be back after how we were treated all I wanted to do is pay and young asian guy kept arguing with me instead of letting me pay and move on to help others behind me. Hidden in a super small slot in the Hasting's strip mall is this gem. Boba tea is a great snack and fun for everyone. Tapioca strips or spheres in milk tea, herbal tea, or snow tea. Mix and match for your favorite combination. I'm partial to green teas with tropical boba, but play with flavors to find your favorite. Rustic offers a comfortable seating with free wifi. It's a nice invitation to stay, work, interact.... I think this would be a great change of pace for a book club or other group. Try it out! First of all, if you're looking for an actual boba tea cafe in New Mexico, as far as I know this is the only game in town. Fortunately, it's an amazing find. Rustic is located in a strip mall right off Juan Tabo, meaning that there's plenty of parking--plus there's a bike rack right next to the store. The interior is bright, clean, and modern, with plenty of comfortable seating no matter what your preference is. Outlets abound for those of us with laptops, and the wi-fi is free. But a boba cafe isn't a boba cafe without boba... and the drinks here are delicious. The thai iced tea with boba is as good as any I've had in Los Angeles, and their Popcorn Chicken is perfect. The service is amazing, too--both employees with whom I interacted were extremely polite and friendly. Bottom line is this: this Los Angeles ex-pat drove 60 miles to get to this place, and I'd do it again in a second. read more

Coming from California, I have a pretty high standard for Bubble Tea/Boba. I will say that this place was such a pleasant surprise. The drinks were very well balanced on tea and milk. I ordered the Taro Milk Tea which was one of the customer's favorites. Little did I know they also served chicken wings, snacks and Pho like many boba shops in California. I ordered the combination Pho which had a great balance of soup and noodles. The broth alone with no add-ons was already so tasty and I saw little to no oil on the surface. Came to ABQ for a business trip and was craving boba. My coworker and I decided to try out this place because I read one of the comments that said it was comparable to bay area boba! I'm an asian kid who grew up in the 626 where it's an asian mecca and tons of different teas and boba from the motherland have set up shop there so my taste buds were already prepped. I ordered a regular milk tea just because I use that as a comparison of milk tea when I go to new boba shops. This place definitely was delicious and reminded me of being back home. The decor is really awesome and is also something that a lot of 626 boba shops have set up. They also have board games so it is a good place to go and hang out with friends. I'm digging this bubble tea joint so far. Having moved recently from Houston, TX where there are copious amounts of tapioca shops in Chinatown, I was jonesin for some good tapioca + tea in the ABQ area. Lo and behold, yelp suggested this bubble tea cafe with extremely high reviews and it did not disappoint. I'm not sure the tapioca balls are up to par with some of the greatest Bay Area (TPumps honey boba!! mm) or Houston joints but this place is far more authentic/amazing than your only other abq area competitor Boba Tea Company (barf!!!!). I ordered the jasmine milk tea and taro milk tea with tapioca. Both milk teas were good. The tapioca was okay too, but I wish it had a stickier texture to it, but this may be personal preference. I couldn't wait around for the popcorn chicken (takes up to 15 mins to prepare!) because I had my pup with me waiting outside so I will definitely need to come back to sample that and all the other tea options. read more

The family and I were craving Boba and decided to stop by this place. Staff was friendly and the area was clean. We ended getting three different drinks (Jasmine Milk Tea, Taro/Hazelnut Milk Tea, and Taro Snow). The drinks came out pretty fast, tasted good, and boba had a good texture. They really sweeten the boba (a good thing), which made me feel that my drink was too sweet. Our only change for next time would be to see if we could adjust the sweetness of our drinks.
