Amazing location for a really cool restaurant. Where else can you dine in a historic airport terminal and watch planes land and take off? Not many places. So this places gets extra points for its cool atmosphere and history. With that being said, the food is just alright. I cannot comment on their dinner menu as I have only been for brunch. I've been here twice for brunch and had mixed experiences. The first time was great, had delicious biscuits and French toast. The coffee is just okay, and the espresso drinks leave a lot to be desired. But overall it was great and made me want to come back a second time. The second time I had a bacon cheeseburger benedict, which was good, but didn't come out very hot. My family didn't seem to enjoy their dishes too much either. They ordered a special and it had a very overpowering 'rundown sauce' on it that made the whole dish taste like fish. We came to Holman's Table to watch the planes, we now want to come back for the food! My foodie buddy loves watching planes take off so we decided to check out Holman's Table. While we would have preferred a lunch or dinner, brunch is the time that worked for us. We made a reservation for their patio which did have some time slots that were already sold out. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. We ordered the Mushroom Toast & Eggs, Lemon Ricotta Toast and the Tostada Benedict. In a word, wow! We loved everything! The Tostada Benedict was full of flavor. A crispy tostada with grilled onions, beans, rice, blackening spice, hollandaise and cilantro with a couple of perfectly poached eggs. There was some sweetness from the grilled onions and just a hint of spice from the blackening spice. Richness from the hollandaise and freshness from the cilantro. The Mushroom Toast & Eggs offered much of the same. Sweetness from onion marmalade and savory from the roasted mushrooms. The best dish was also the most confusing. Lemon Ricotta Toast. The title leads one to believe this might be a sweet item. Quite the contrary. This was crispy toasted Tuscan flatbread, grilled smoky scallions, salty capers, roasted tomato, hard boiled eggs and sprouts. So many flavors and textures in this dish. One of the most memorable meals that we have had in a long time. Biggest regret was not knowing about this sooner! Watch the planes roll in and out at this historic airport terminal - eatery. The historic decor and building provide a unique atmosphere. It is tucked down a long road near the runway, so it is natural to feel you took a wrong turn while driving in. I think that makes it a cool place to bring someone new, because it is like sharing a best kept secret. "Keep going, I will show you." The food is yum! Some of my friends love this place so much that I feel kind of like I'm inevitably outraging someone by only giving it four stars instead of five. Heck, even I kinda love it that much! It's a really really REALLY cool place! It's at the St Paul Downtown Airport, inside the terminal building from 1939! You look out the windows and see small-aircraft traffic! Ambience doesn't get much more unique or charming in an American metropolis. My friends and I came for brunch on the weekend. The vast majority of their brunch offerings are very inventive concoctions that you won't get anywhere else. I got a crab omelette with lemon ricotta, and our table also enjoyed a mushroom toast thing, a farro salad thing, and a bruleed grapefruit. See what I mean about non-traditional menu items? Based on the brunch menu, this is a great place to take someone you want to dazzle with your cosmopolitan palette and cool sense of style. We just didn't love our food enough for a five star review. Many of you very likely will, though! And I'm going to come back for dinner very soon. My omelette didn't have very much crab meat, which was probably to ensure that the seafood flavor didn't overwhelm the taste of the lemon ricotta, which seems smart. When you arrive, you walk into a large entry/seating area. It's large and bright with accents, like old suitcases, that nod to being in an old hangar. We had reservations, so we were seated right away & had a lovely curved booth with a large window overlooking the runway. We were visiting for brunch and started with a few items to share. We had the homemade biscuits and the grapefruit brûlée. The biscuits were large with a crispy outer crust and warm soft inside. They were served with butter and jam. The grapefruit brûlée was AMAZING! It is a ruby red grapefruit, caramelized sugar, whipped cream, & berries. You crunch through the caramelized sugar to a juicy grapefruit. Add the fresh cream and it's a spoonful of perfection. For my main I had the toastada benedict. It was a very large portion with a tortilla, black beans, rice, grilled onion, roasted red pepper, purple cabbage, poached eggs, hollandaise, blackening spice, & cilantro. The eggs were cooked perfectly atop the rice and beans. It was a little spicy but it didn't overpower the dish. I added chicken to the dish and glad I did. Our server was lovely and super personable. My wife and I enjoyed a lovely dinner Saturday night. The Seaplane Salad with Blackened Tuna and Shrimp was perfectly prepared with a spicy kick. I have also been here for Restaurant Week and felt that it was one of he few bargains left in town. The options and portion sizes made it worthwhile. I finally got here because I had an item I sold on Craigslist and needed to meet the buyer in St Paul, so of course I made a brunch excursion out of it. It was packed on a Sunday at 1pm, I'm glad I made reservations. There was a crazy thunderstorm happening too, I was surprised it was still packed. Plenty of parking though. The space is modern, chic, there were plenty of classy touches everywhere. It's what I expected for an airport for private flights. It was cool to see the runway from the restaurant. Only sad thing I found was the lack of diversity. I had a really nice corner spot while I waited for my husband. I sipped on a vanilla latte that was full of the delicious depth that you crave on a sleepy morning/afternoon. Once my husband arrived we ordered the grapefruit brûlée, mushroom toast with soft poached eggs, and the vat burger. The grapefruit brûlée was beautiful and super refreshing. I really loved the taste of this bowl, sweet, sour, a tiny bit bitter, and bright. Getting the actual grapefruit out was a complete mess, I wish they sliced the meat of the fruit out before they worked their magic on the rest of the dish. The mushroom toast was earthy and balanced. We selected poached eggs and it was the right choice to go with this dish. Actually, poached eggs is always the right choice for any dish. The vat burger, yep, I like. So it turns out Holmans is in my top five maybe even top three for places to get phenomenal food. I've ordered Holmans holiday take out packages a few times since Covid. By far the best bang for your buck!! I also find my self daydreaming of eating the black and blue burger on the tarmac seating. This burger is so underrated in the Twin Cities. Yes TC has many amazing burger spots but this burger is by far in my top 2 for "quality" style burgers. I crave this burger!! The food influencers and social media bloggers need to make a date night of this place and realize what they are missing!! Also to top it off they have opened up a lounge area with music and cocktails. This is a great spot for drinks! The cocktails are great and they have a good wine list. Plus it is really fun to watch the planes go by. But skip the food if you're looking at the dinner menu. It's pricey and can be better. I went with the pork ribeye and my husband got the steak special. Both of our meals were fatty. Some people love that but We are definitely not fans. Holman's Table is in a very unique location with the airport runway behind it. I was exited to try it based on its glowing reviews, but it fell a little flat for me. The dishes just missed their mark by a little bit but if I could give half stars, then I would say 3.5/5 for this place. The decor is adorable and very comfortable. I loved the intimate half circle booths and the seats were also cushioned and very comfortable looking. Food overall did not impress me too much. The mushroom toast was the best thing I ate there though. I would give this a try if you're already there and reading this. Other than that, the hash browns and pancake I ordered were average and my friend's egg's madame seemed a bit mediocre (egg was oddly cooked and the sauce was okay at best). This spot has an old school vibe with a modern menu. While there we got to watch a military cargo plane take off and surprisingly from the inside it' was really quiet. Just an all around cool experience to be that close to a runway. The staff was all fantastic and the food was amazing. We ordered the mushroom toast and eggs, which was refreshing and a new eating experience. I really enjoyed it. However, for me the star of the table was the black and bleu burger. It was perfectly seasoned and the pecan smoked bacon was hands down the best bacon I have had on a burger. It had the perfect amount of cheese (even the cheese was amazing). Biting into the burger I could tell that the restaurant cares about the quality of their ingredients, because everything tasted fresh. I desired a breakfast burger so I added an egg and hash browns, which just made it all come together exactly how I craved. My boyfriend and I made 5pm reservations (that was all that was available) on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly. The ambiance is really nice here, and I can't say enough about the comfort of the seats! Finally, a chair that won't put your bum to sleep during your meal. It took awhile to get our drinks, but it took even longer to get our appetizers. Our server apologies repeatedly, letting us know that they were working a brand new menu so the kitchen was a little backed up. We understood, but a free drink or dessert would have gone a long way to help forget the 30 min app wait. The French onion soup was delicious! Boyfriend also loved his crab cakes, but wishes he had shared them as they are a large portion. I ordered the hanger steak, medium, and he ordered the ribeye, medium rare. As you can see in the pic, my hangar came out reeeeaaallly rare, but I was starving at that point (over an hour into the meal) and just ate it. It was seasoned really well, tasted fresh, and was excellent quality; just wishing I hadn't had to cut off the cooked bits and leave the middle. The gnocchi and Brussels sprouts that came with mine were cooked perfectly as well. Boyfriends ribeye was HUGE and he also liked his mashed potato side. He ended up taking half of the steak home, though he also agreed that it was fantastic. Our server was kind and attentive, but the pace of the meal just really dragged on. And the patio looks out on the small aircraft coming and going. (Not as noisy as you'd expect!) We had the broiled grapefruit to share and the entrees were all delicious. Booked a surprise Birthday flight for 3. The flight was for my partner and I, along with our own personal photographer during sunset. After our flight dinner was served and it was incredible. The choices we ordered were extremely tasteful and satisfying from the appetizers, to main entrees, to dessert. Nothing was a disappointment. I'd also like to mention that the salmon I ordered was truly the most moist I've ever had. Salmon can get tricky, because it can either be undone or overcooked. So order the salmon if you're a fish lover. As we headed into dessert, our server brought out a complimentary tart with a candle, which was so sweet because she knew we were celebrating a birthday. Elegant, isolated, and delicious. This is located at the St Paul airport. It's pretty cool to see the helicopters land outside the window for people to come inside and eat. Also, parking is easy. We got the charcuterie board and the raspberry ale infused cheese is out if this world. The cheese isn't colored, so you'd have no idea, but the hint of raspberry sweetness is perfect. It's worth getting the whole board if even for only a few pieces of that cheese. It's subtle, but it's what I'll dream about. It's lent, which means fish. The Mahi Mahi special has a great charred sear. It was laid on top of white rice with a citrus sauce that climbed it's way through the grains. Very good! The service was very good. I would recommend making a reservation ahead of time because when we got there, the dining room was full already. I'm not one to typically complain, but our experience at Holman's Table was extremely disappointing. My fiancé surprised me with a brunch date and outdoor reservation on the patio. It was a sunny 85 degree day, and we were seated at one of the only tables in the direct sun, when there were 6+ other tables open in the shade. We asked to move twice to a shaded table and were told no, "those were for other reservations"... no one came. Another couple came 30 minutes later, also seated in the sun and asked for a shaded table, and were moved within minutes. After asking a 3rd time, we finally were moved to an open table in the shade. I would understand if our table was the only available option and the patio was full, however there were many shaded options available. As a paying customer, it's frustrating to hear "it's impossible to move you with our reservation system" and then see exceptions made for other customers. Our server was great and understanding of the situation and the food was good. Holmans table has been on my list of new places to try, and this experience has left me not wanting to go back. read more

Tucked away at St Paul's private airport. It's definitely a hidden gem and a bit of a trek out of the city to get to but the atmosphere is very nice and the more remote location provides a nice getaway from the city. The hidden gem also means its not on everyone's radar so it's a nice little kept secret kind of a secluded/private restaurant! The interior is awesome - very cozy, all leather seating on the booths and chairs. They even have cute fur pillows for guests! The views are awesome of the airport strip. Although the two visits i've been I did not get to see any planes take off. Sounds like from the restaurant staff - this doesn't happen too often. At most 5-10 times a day since it's a private airport for mostly business/corporate use. The bar and wallpaper are both really trendy and elegant at the same time. Highly recommend for a date and great for groups as they have long bench seating that can accomodate. Lots of free parking in the front lot as well. Food was great both during brunch and dinner service. Killer pasta, burgers and breakfast selections here! Highly recommend their breakfast sandwich burger, wild boar pappardelle! Unexpectedly AMAZING!! My husband surprised me to dinner at Holman's Table for my birthday. We are foodies and I can't believe this was our first time dining here. It won't be our last!! The ambiance was so peaceful. Al fresco dining on the runway, perfectly spaced tables so you didn't feel like you were in someone else's conversation and NO MUSIC!! The fact there was no music blaring while I tried to enjoy my food was wonderful!!! The food was beyond delicious and the drinks were top notch! We enjoyed the mushroom toast, $300 burger and the fried chicken. Some of the best fried chicken this southern gal has ever had!!! We started our evening with the 'Penicillin' and the 'Cayman Cooler' to toast the birthday celebration! We ended the course with the Chocolate Cremeux and the Coconut Cheesecake. Just wow!!! The best part of the entire experience was the staff at Holman's Table. Our server, Kristi with a K, was by far the loveliest server we have had in a restaurant.
