Amazing experience!!! we arrived a half hour late for our reservation due to traffic and the hostess could not have been more kind and attentive. Great spot close by Xcel energy stadium for a bite and a beer! I had the Herbie burger and it was cooked perfectly with an amazing aioli on top. The fries were crispy with Parmesan and I love the board they serve it on. We sat in the overflow area so we were surrounded by architecture from the hotel attached which was beautiful and worked for us as we only had a little bit of time to eat before the game. Dinner for four on Thanksgiving with a reservation made well in advance. I specifically asked if this would be table service off a menu and not a buffet. I was assured it would be table service. I called again a week later to confirm the table service and was assured it would be. We arrived on time and were seated to find out it was buffet only. Couldn't believe it. One of our party members, using a cane, was unable to get to the buffet. I could go on, but will end with reporting that all four of us had water to drink and I additionally had coffee. We stopped here after a wild hockey game and totally enjoyed our time sitting at the bar. It was super busy and crowded with hockey fans but the staff handled it amazingly. Came here on New Year's day. We had a reservation for 7. It wasn't packed and service was great! Had a last minute addition making our party of 8 and was given an extra chair with no issues. We were sat by the fireplace so it was a little hard to watch the hockey game that was on but it wasn't a big deal. I really enjoyed all of the food. The walleye was so buttery. I've had better risotto (this one probably needed a little more seasoning/creaminess) but it was still really good. I think the shrimps made the dish. The pork chop was also cooked well and flavourful. Restrooms very really clean. That is rare these days so I appreciated that as we are a immunocompromised home so prefer to be outside. Check in was a breeze and we were seated on the patio which is open and roomy. Our meal here was ok. The restaurant itself is a beautiful space and the location is amazing if you are going to the Ordway or there's an event in Rice Park. However, the food and the service were mixed and overall just average. I ordered chili, which was their soup of the day. The flavor was good, but it was 75% beans and little else. My husband had the walleye cakes and he said they were ok. Our server was pleasant but disappeared at times, so as others have mentioned service was on the slow side. We were on a date night on a non-game night (this is important later), and I honestly thought since we made a reservation, and how we were dressed (for a night at the orchestra), I thought we'd be sat in one of the dining areas. Instead we were sat by a window in the bar area, with women's volleyball playing on a TV overhead. Alright, so not great so far. I was hoping the food and the service would make up for it. I ordered my steak frites medium well. The fries came out great, but there was a lot of red on the plate, and by the time I got to the middle of my steak, it was definitely medium. When I pointed this out to my server, he just picked it up and brought it back without so much as an acknowledgement. He brought it back cooked, but still without saying a word about making it right. Love the addition of this place in the heart of St. Paul. The atmosphere is like a cozy sitting room but with a sports bar flair. The menu is a revolving door based on the season and is sure to have something to your delight. The bar menu also seems to rotate. On my most recent occasion here, I started out with a Downtown Sidecar (pictured) and we had a few appetizers. The curry cauliflower was fantastic, a slight crisp but the flavor was superb. Also tried the chips and dip and the Buffalo flatbread. Both were good, nothing that you wouldn't expect from both of those items though. I got the seasonal risotto with chicken for my entree, which was a spinach and pepper. This was a slight disappointment as it tasted more like fried rice than risotto. Overall, the menu choices will bring me back again. Game nights and play nights make this place crowded so if you can avoid those two things, you can pretty much have your run of the joint. read more

We chose to go here because it is one of the stops on our Pub Pass and it is close to the St. Paul Saints stadium we were going to later that night. I am not sure of the parking situation because we chose to use Lime Scooters to get here. The outside of the building is very pretty, with old brick and a statue out front. The inside of the building is equally beautiful, it has an old dinner club feeling. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time and we chose to sit at the bar. Everyone who worked here was so nice and attentive!! We each got beers on tap and chose to split the Herbie Burger. This was probably one of the best burgers I've had in my life. It was oozing with the right amount of grease and I loved that the cheese was melted. The fries that it came with were also perfectly crispy! I wish that I lived in the area to go here a few more times...this place was a nice discovery, located right up against the doors to the energy center conference venue. It's a nice intimate restaurant, with comfortable chairs/booths, and a warm atmosphere. The food cost is comparable to similar types of restaurants in the area, and the food portion sizes are really large! I went here with a colleague and tried the Avocado Caprese Salad (YUM! Would eat this again a million times!), the risotto (they had a vegetarian version this day, and it was delicious and my type of comfort food), and a side of french fries (well cooked and well seasoned), and some hot tea (they carry Rishi, which was a nice surprise). The service was really good, though they stopped checking on us after we paid our bill-- we had to flag someone down to get cocktails after the fact, but it didn't bother me since the cocktails were great. Overall, definitely recommend and I look forward to coming back if I'm ever in the area again! read more

It's right next to the Xcel center, so make sure you check the events at the Xcel because parking can be tough to find and expensive if there are events. The food was flavorful and well presented. The fries are the perfect amount of crispy with not too much or too little potato. They were out of some of the signature drink ingredients. In the bar area there are big TV screens playing sports. You could tell they just hiked up prices because they're close to an event center (Xcel Center). We got one local IPA and one glass of DAOU Cabernet, and it cost $25 without tip. We accidentally came her during a Wild game and parking was terrible. Make sure you give yourself time to park. I made a reservation and we were seated right away. The space is beautiful and has a large fireplace. We had some questions about the menu, but nobody was able to answer them. My husband and I ordered some drinks. I never got one of mine and at one point got the wrong drink entirely. They do have a great selection of beer, wine and mixed drinks. I tried the salmon crostini for an appetizer. It was ok, but there were way too many toppings for the amount of crostini. There was also some timing issues and our main courses were brought out before we were halfway into our appetizer. My husband had a steak and I had the lobster pasta. My husband said his steak was cooked really well, however it was missing some flavor. My pasta was good, huge portion and definitely had plenty of leftovers. We both ordered dessert but we only got one. It was good. Throughout our entire experience we were constantly brought another tables food so I think the tables numbers got mixed up somewhere. Overall, food wasn't bad, but there were definitely some service issues. I was taking my husband here for his birthday so I felt really bad when it wasn't the best experience. I'm sure they are short staffed and working on training new staff so hopefully things get worked out. I might give them another try in the future. read more

This patio on Friday/Saturday night is a complete vibe! I had an absolutely lovely night sitting on the patio, sipping drinks, trying new menu items, and enjoying the live music. Sweet Corn Elote Fries: Fries topped w/ bacon , chevre, cilantro, a lime slice to squeeze. I really liked the elote fries, as they stayed nice & crispy w/ all he loaded goods on top. They were definitely a fun choice & I would grab them again. I woldnt mind a little spice. Homemade Chips & Dip: I am chip obsessed. They are my number one go to snack on a regular basis. These chips were super crispy and seasoned just the right amount. So tasty. The dip was a delicious roasted garlic French onion dip. I couldn't stop eating these! Watermelon Feta Salad: Based with greens & topped w/ mint, charred red onion, & drizzled with a Fresno chili orange vinaigrette. I really love watermelon & this salad was a great for the summer vibes. So refreshing. It definitely was perfect on the patio. Entrees- It was hard to choose which entrée's to get.
