We had an absolutely fantastic first experience. Eric our server was absolutely fantastic. The cocktails were great. The appetizers, walleye cakes and lobster cauliflower cheese were both delicious, especially the walleye cakes which were divine. For entrees we had the scallops with wild rice and the steak diane, again both were fantastic. The side of fries we ordered was also so good. We were celebrating an anniversary and they took a family picture that they printed out for us to take home as well as offered a vanilla sundae for dessert, both which were a very nice touch. We also had the chocolate cake which was ok, a little dry for our liking. The atmosphere/vibes were absolutely immaculate inside. There is valet parking available for $15 in the back lot too. We can't wait for our next visit.

Love the Lexington every time! This is a special occasion place for me, a little pricey, but sooooo worth it. In the summer I love the patio (they have fun patio drinks like the frozen rosé). It's so fun to be on the rooftop, and they offer plenty of shade for hotter days. This time I got lobster spaghetti & it was deliciously creamy and buttery without being too heavy. Everyone loved their food! Service at the Lexington is always top tier & our server anticipated a lot of our requests before we could even ask. Street or valet parking! Reservations recommended.

Went for a couple cocktails on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded. They have many options to dine in, several bars and dining rooms and rooftop. We went downstairs bar. The bartender was kind. Tried shrimp cocktail, which was delicious with some onions and tomatoes and dehydrated, jalapeños Calamari was OK but decent size. Huge chocolate cake with mascarpone cream on the side (according to bartender new recipe) was very dry. Definitely needed to mascarpone cream. Old-fashioned was delicious.

The Lexington has a beautiful, historic dark wood interior that transports you to a different era of St Paul. The staff is very professional and provides strong service in line with the historic environment. However, the place where The Lexington suffers for me is with their food. The menu feels a bit disjointed and the prices far exceed what feels reasonable based on the complexity and quality of the dishes we ate. None of the dishes were bad, per se, but they were pretty average renditions considering the price point. There were also out of the chicken pot pie, which we had hoped to try, even though it was only 6 pm. Next time I'd probably just come for a drink to enjoy the vibe of the bar.

Aesthetically speaking, the restaurant is absolutely amazing. I had to walk around for a bit just to take in how cool the place looked. One of the staff members noticed and kindly offered to show me around. Halfway through my mini tour, he told me that he was the one who did all the Christmas décor--and that he's been collecting these pieces over the last 15 years. I was really grateful for that experience. Honestly, the entire visit--from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out--was top-notch. For food and drinks, I ordered a Moscow Mule, the Meatloaf Wellington, and the lobster with cauliflower cheese. It was my first time trying a Wellington, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. The lobster, however, was a definite hit--I ate every bit of it! The drink was very good as well. For sure each items is on the pricier end but given the service your definitely getting your money worth. I also noticed they play live jazz music too, so I'm definitely interested in coming back for some good quality music.

Attended a grooms dinner on the 2nd floor space. Very nice!! Service and food all great. Bartenders friendly and made yummy cocktails. Also extensive list of mocktails, which is so important.

A friend bought tickets to CynCity Tours "Baseball & That Ain't All " held in The Lexington banquet room. So we came early for food and drinks. This was all new to us so we didn't know what to expect. Traffic and parking was busy (Weekday 5pm) but we fell into a great parking spot lot across Grand Ave. The shoppe is closed and the lot then opens up to The Lexington patrons at 5:30pm. The Lexington is white linen tabletop fancy. Sal and I like to sit at the bar so we killed time with drinks and an appetizer. The bar was full, however we found a skinny rail with barstool seating just behind the bar in the cocktail lounge. A nice place to perch, sip, snack and talk smack. Sal ordered a Non-alcoholic Wisconsin old fashion and I got a Non-alcoholic Lavender Lemon Drop. Both had strong flavor without the woo-woo side effect. Now the menu is expensive. We looked over the apps and decided on a relish tray. The description said "housemade pickles" but there were no pickles! It had herring which is a pickled FISH... nope! The cured meat was okay (better than the fatty, chewy capicola ham served upstairs). The creamy cheese ball was good on the hard bread cracker. It reminded me of the shape on Birch bark, long and folded a in C- shape. The deviled eggs left you with a spicy cayenne aftertaste. One was plenty rich and I can slam back some deviled eggs at a good potluck. There was a liver pâté under pickled red onions and plate was decorated with dollops of yellow mustard and spicy mustard seeds. And there was a basket of traditional bread rolls and butter. That was my favorite thing out of everything. My take away is that when the bread is #1 and the cubed cheese on the app tray is pungent (like gym socks), it's TOO fancy for me. We found our server and the bill was handled quickly before we headed upstairs to our Baseball presentation. A positive note: all the staff we interacted with (maitre d, bartenders, waiter who brought out the food, and our waitress) were all wonderful and helpful. The glamor and ambience was on point!! If you like sophistication, this place is for you! If you like Juicy Lucy's and Grainbelt, maybe stick with the corner dive bar.

First time visit and we were blown away by the level of personal service delivered by the staff and the quality of the food in a unique environment. Our server, host, and other staff talked with us about our dining experience, food, and our evening in a sincere and professional manner. The cocktails were top notch and classic with clever twists. I enjoyed the Manhattan and my wife the Vieux Carre. The chopped sirloin hamburger was amazing and a gluten free bun was available. My wife had the pot pie, also excellent. The crème Brûlée for desert was perfect with a crispy sugar crust.

The Lexington is a Saint Paul classic. The food is incredible, the service is 5 star and the environment is unmatched. In the summer the rooftop is always a hit and has a great vibe. This place will always be one of my favorites for a nice dinner date, a summer happy hour or just to sit at the bar and have a snack! The Lexington has it all.

Spectacular food, service and ambience!!! We had the perfect table and experience for our large group for dinner before our play at the Guthrie. We parked on the street in the neighborhood but they have valet too. The server overheard some of our table forgetting their glasses so they came and gave them spare readers! The food was absolutely to die for! Every single thing we ordered was delicious! Get the dirty green beans side if you get the chance! The aesthetic is beautiful. It's very regal, and old school classic. I highly recommend for a special night out!

A few notes to set the scene I went today for lunch on a lovely 70 degree Spring day after getting a haircut across the street to check some work emails, grab a beer and quick lunch to go order. Full disclosure: I'm slightly biased bc I grew up about a mile away and just moved home recently, so any cool vibey place in the old neighborhood has a special place in my heart. That said, it has a very cozy/hip neighborhood feel and understated sophistication for what is a pretty residential and quiet area of St Paul The 5/5 elements... Scott (who I think may be the owner?) is super cool, was serving/tending bar and running around to manage the patio while chatting me up & giving great recs on beer/food based on my half hearted description while I multi tasked on work nonsense. Awesome guy, and reason enough to check this place out The vibe/softly playing music and entrancing Twin Cities flyover footage playing in the background on the TV at the bar was oddly soothing Ordered brisket tacos, brussels sprouts, and fried chicken sandwich for myself + a friend to go. Yamahama, I'm not gonna cheat and double check the menu, but the brussels have a delicious umami flavor from either duck fat or facsimile that perfectly balances the acid from the balsamic/vinegar situation. Fried chicken sandwich is a KILLER, highly recommend. Friend loved the brisket tacos as well Highly recommend this place should you find yourself near Merriam Park in St Paul for lunch, dinner, or happy hour. Must try spot. Cheers

The inside of the bar is pretty small and felt a bit cramped, especially with how busy it was on a Sunday. They do have a back patio that is fairly large, which I appreciated, but during the day it did not feel very inviting. Without lighting or much going on, it came off a bit plain. As for drinks, I tried a non alcoholic half and half with lemonade and iced tea, which I actually really liked. I also had a mojito style cocktail that was not my favorite and tasted a bit too strong for me. The overall vibe just was not really my thing, but I could see it being more fun at night or with a bigger group.

(I realize that might be ambiguous, so what I mean by "great for solo people" is that you won't feel uncomfortable coming here alone. It's easy to chat with people if you want to; it's easy to just enjoy the music if you want to.) Okay, I know you want to hear about the drinks. They have a great selection of beer on tap. They have tons of cocktails, including a selection of barrel-finished cocktails. Not drinking tonight? They have plenty of THC and even a CBD-only option (winning!), along with some non-altering choices that include switchel(!). There's a huge outdoor patio with fire pits that I will probably check out next time. Anyway, this is a great spot!

Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I highly recommend giving it a try. One small note: We didn't realize a 20% gratuity had already been added to our bill. That's partially on us for not catching it on the credit card slip, (we tipped in cash) but I do think it would be helpful if servers mentioned it when presenting the check. I typically prefer to tip in cash, so on our $62 tab, we ended up leaving a $34 tip. Even with that little surprise, we'll absolutely be back. So, if you are from out of town, I'd find a local spot to hang out instead because I have made that mistake before when I go to a new spot, and usually when I travel I'd like to find something local instead of a bar in the WF! However, if you are local, and need a chill neighborhood place to hang out, I think you'd be surprised how lovely the Selby bar is. Also, it's just nice to hang out somewhere that is not too dark like a usual bar might be. First, the specials! They are amazing. They always have really, ridiculously good beer and/or wine specials. See pic. Then, in addition, there are happy hour specials 4-6 pm that offer additional deals. But the daily specials are really good so even if you are getting there before or after HH don't feel like you will miss out! They have a great selection of MN beers - usually a few surly selections, lift bridge, and others. They usually have a good variety of beer styles and sometimes a cider on draft. Then, the food: they have a menu that has burgers, including the Beyond Vegan burger, for $10 with fries. They also have some apps and different veggie bowls you can add protein to. If you were already thinking of eating at Whole Foods then you probably won't spend much more eating here but that all depends on what you like and what deals are around. I have often gotten the vegan burger and I always love it. You can also bring in some food from the Whole Foods deli but be courteous and clean up if you leave a big mess of food they didn't serve you! Finally, the staff. The bartenders are really chill. Be nice to them and tip as you would at a bar! The bar takes credit cards or cash but no Whole Foods gift cards. Be nice to the Whole Foods employees in general! Also - this WF doesn't sell beer or wine to go because of MN liquor laws, so if you want beer or wine you need to have it here!
