    Burger and fries.

I stopped into Russell's on a Friday night around 6:30 PM. It was my first visit, and I was excited to check out the vibe. The atmosphere is much different from the previous restaurant at this location, and I really appreciated the change! We didn't have reservations, and it was a busy night, so we grabbed three seats at the bar. The bartenders were fantastic--attentive and friendly. I ordered a burger and fries, and it was simple yet delicious in the best way. The fries were perfectly seasoned with something more unique than just salt, so much so that ketchup wasn't even necessary--they were amazing. Honestly, I could've gone for a second order. The burger was melt-in-your-mouth good and perfectly portioned--it left me feeling satisfied without being overly full or wanting more food. I'm already looking forward to returning to try the omelette on the menu and explore some of the cocktails. Oh, and here's a bonus: if you ask for a hot towel, they'll bring you a steaming, wonderfully refreshing towelette to clean your hands--an especially thoughtful touch on a cold January day. P.s. One of the people I was with ordered the salmon and when asked their feedback, they said "decent; I would order it again; A little bit expensive for the quality"

Got seated quickly. Staff were friendly. Food took a while. It was very busy for a week night. The space was completely transformed since the previous restaurant. It was a great update and makes good use of the interior. The smash burger was really good. Comparable to Saint Dinnette's Burger. I loved the shoestring fries. I got the walleye nachos. It was good. I have never had anything like it before. The walleye was breaded and fried. You could find nuggets of it on top of the nachos. My favorite thing about this dish was the guacamole mousse.

Hubs has been mentioning this place since they opened. It's in the space where Tavern on Grand had been previously. The inside looks so different from the Tavern days! Drink menu was good, 8 or so cocktails to choose from and a good wine and beer list. Got a Bourbon Basil Sidecar and hubs had a Rosemary Paloma. Drinks were very good, albeit, a bit on the spendier side. Was dying to try the cacio e pepe fries. They were good, although, not sure I'd get them again, mostly because the cheese didn't melt on them very well and they were a little messy. Got the Swedish Meatballs and a side of green beans for my dinner. The meatballs were definitely sizeable for one. If you're looking for traditional Swedish Meatballs, these aren't it, but they are still delicious. Made with chicken sausage and mushroom gravy. Hubs had the spring chicken (just love that name) and I had a small bite and it was tasty. Whatever was in the puree gave it a subtle sweetness. Would definitely recommend getting a reservation, as it was pretty busy.

WOW....they really did a beautiful job on the upgrades to the precious Tavern on Grand space! We loved Tavern on Grand and were sad when it closed but were excited to try Russell's. Entering it's a really wonderful space....warm and classy and perfect for a nice romantic dinner out or to celebrate a special occasion. We started with some cocktails which was delicious and well made. We had an order of the Cacio e' Pepe French fries (crispy and delicious) and the Spinach & Artichoke dip (needed some salt or seasonings). For dinner I had the Classic Steak which was magical (generous size and perfectly seasoned and prepared), the Burger (delicious), and the Roasted Chicken (moist, beautiful sauce and preparation). Everything was very tasty! The service was impeccable! Friendly, knowledgeable and experienced with timing and check backs. She was wonderful and I wish I could remember her name but it really enhanced the experience. We had a great time and highly recommend Russell's when you want a beautiful night out!

I went to Russell's on a Friday evening with 3 of my friends. We arrived around 7:30pm and sat at the bar for a couple minutes before being seated at a cozy booth. The ambiance of the restaurant was really cozy and welcoming. Our server was helpful in explaining the menu and was attentive. We started with the walleye nachos and some drinks. All the drinks were super tasty and I loved the nachos. We all split the cornbread which was dense and sweet. My friends ordered the caesar salad, ribs, and the burger. Everyone loved their meals and the price was typical.

Todd Russell has completely revamped the former Tavern on Grand into a welcoming and lively neighborhood spot. Spacious, with a bar, booths of various sizes, two dining rooms filled with tables and one private area. Only had appetizers at this visit, but the flavors and presentation of the cacio e pepe fries and Swedish meatballs were solid. A couple small wrinkles in front of house service, but nothing that can't be ironed out over time. We'll be back for more!

Nice atmosphere, warm and inviting, but the service was below average and the food is expensive and not worth the price.

They thought the pancakes were amazing, and the Cajun Breakfast is everything I wanted it to be and more. They use ground andouille sausage rather than diced rope sausage and it's just so much better. But honestly, I could have been happy just dipping the double buttered toast into the hollandaise for a whole meal. SO GOOD! And the service was impeccable - friendly and attentive despite how busy it was. Only thing that could use a little work is the seating- our booth was torn up badly and not even duct taped to smooth it out. Some repairs/updates would go a long way. But joints like this I don't judge the ambiance too harshly.

There were still some empty seats around, so perhaps the earlier the better. The Tiramisu Cold Press was pretty good. I didn't think it was anything special though since it didn't seem to give the "wow" factor that would make me want to come back just to have it. Biscuits and Gravy were okay too. The gravy was delicious, but same sentiment as the Tiramisu Cold Press in which I didn't feel like it was anything too special. It is still good, and a beautiful brunch spot to catch up with friends Service was alright. Our server was nice! Though we were a bit confused since we had like 2-3 people asking to take our order? And towards the end I had asked for a to-go box and wasn't brought one, until another server asked if we wanted the check and I had to ask again for a to-go box. Nothing crazy though, I can overlook it since the service we received wasn't bad at all. Overall, food was good, interior was beautiful, and service was okay. It is a solid brunch spot!
