Parking is very easy - it is a small lot. Hold Coffee's interior was very aesthetically pleasing. It was simplistic, meaningful, yet dainty. My fiancé and I enjoyed their decor before we had decided what to order. The cashier was very sweet and cheerful. She made us feel welcomed and encouraged to order more! Her energy made me feel compelled to order their pumpkin scones, which were only available on Saturdays. Personally, I've never been a fan of scones, but I was willing to take the risk. I also ordered their black cocoa biscotti latte. Our scone came out first and when she had handed it to me, it was very warm. I was in shock! These scones are made in batches every few minutes! Upon the first bite, I instantly knew that they had changed my mind about scones. This is the best scone I've ever had before. It was crunchy on the outside but extremely soft on the inside. GET THE SCONES! Crunchy on the outside, soft and fresh on the inside. I tried the mushroom and cheese and pumpkin scones and both were absolutely delicious. The matcha scones sold out pretty quickly so if there's a specific flavor you're eyeing, I'd recommend getting there early. We arrived around 10:30 AM, and quite a few flavors were already sold out. Was finally able to visit since they are now open on Saturdays. I came mid-morning and the line was literally out the door. I did not expect such a crowd but the wait was not bad. The place is cozy and plenty of chairs to sit on. The customer service was friendly and fast and our order came out almost immediately (I feel like the wait in line took longer). I ordered the Sparking Guava Pineapple (very refreshing and guava taste really comes through), Hold Coffee (very mild coffee taste) and Pumpkin scone. New coffee/tea and matcha spot in Covina. Hold Coffee operates on a soft opening hours per their sign at the entrance. I believe they are open Mondays - Friday from 8am-3pm. The ambiance of the spot is very mellow. It's more of a grab and go type of vibe. They have benches and stools to sit and enjoy your drinks. There are no tables for seating just an FYI. They offer coffee, lattes, matcha and lemonade. Scones and other pastries are also on display. Most of them looked really delicious and appetizing. I had to pass as i was there to grab a quick drink. I ordered a Coconut Matcha as that is my current go to item. The drink was delicious and ready within a few minutes. I like the refreshing nature of the coconut matcha and it wasn't overly sweet. Customers filtered in and out during my short time in the location so they are clearly building a good customer base. I'm absolutely in love with this new coffee shop! It was love at first taste when I tried the strawberry matcha with oat milk. It is perfectly balanced with a hint of their house made strawberry syrup and the high quality matcha is able to shine through without that aftertaste of bitterness. I've also tried a whole bunch of different flavors of their scones and my favorite is the blueberry! It's crunchy on the outside and so soft and buttery on the inside. The blueberries give it the perfect amount of sweetness and moist texture. My family and coworkers also love it here too! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but they really praised the Hold Cream Latte and the Black Cocoa Biscotti Latte. And honestly, I think the whole neighborhood loves it here too because there is always a line no matter how early or late I show up during their soft opening hours! I've visited maybe about 5 or 6 times and each time is consistent with the fast service and great staff. The coffee shop is clean and has such a calming, cute and chic aesthetic. This place is solid! Amazing drinks, amazing scones, and the sister team that own it are friendly. Parking lot is small and a line usually forms before they open at 8. I was headed to work and needed my morning caffeine fix. I went with their hold cream latte. Just the right amount of sweet for me and ohhh sooo good. In a last minute decision I also went with a house made scone and boy I did not regret it. The corn scone with jam was amazing. My one wish is they were opened just a little earlier than 8. Longgg overdue review for my new favorite coffee shop - the name Hold Coffee is so suitable because it's got quite the hold on me! The interior is bright, clean and fun, with charming blue details throughout. The good thing about a late review is that I can say customer service cleanliness and drinks are all consistent! My go to is the Hold Cream - the praline is sooo light and the perfect texture/consistency I never feel guilty after because it's so worth it. I also like the Covina latte - I don't usually like coconut flavored things but loveee it in this it's not overwhelming at all, quite refreshing - and also named after the town they're based in, how cute. The matcha is also beautiful in color and quite yum, I watched as it was whisked in front of me. All the drinks are strong and not overly sweet. I will literally go out of my way to grab get Hold! This is an update from my previous review: THE MATCHA IS DELICIOUS!!!! I saw a video they uploaded on insta and noticed that they hand-whisked the matcha so I decided to give it another chance. My husband loves their Coldbrew and it's consistent every time. My favorite is the Pineapple Matcha, it's perfectly balanced in sweetness and flavor The scones are to die for, they are made in house and if you're lucky enough to catch them right out of the oven, you're in for an experience. I finally got to try one of the newest coffee shops in the area. Plenty of parking was available. I went in the early afternoon and there were several people in line. The inside is nice and minimally decorated. Customer service was friendly. I was recommended the black coco biscotti latte. At the time, they also had a soft opening 10% off discount on all drinks. They were unfortunately out of scones for the day. There was a matcha black sesame scone that sounded good that I wanted to try. The drink was ready within five minutes. The latte was good. I got it minimally sweet and it was just right. The flavor of the coffee shined through. I definitely need to come back again to try their matcha and scone. I truly have been wanting to try this place since it launched it soft opening, but the hours unfortunately do not align with my work schedule. Finally was off on Friday and did not waste any time heading over there. The place is small, but quaint and welcoming with friendly staff a.k.a. I believe the owners. I ordered the iced strawberry Matcha, which is made with in housemaid strawberry syrup. I was concerned to drink would be too sweet as I normally drink my Matcha unsweetened, but very pleasantly surprised how balance was and how you could taste. The syrup was not artificial my husband had the iced black cocoa biscotti which he absolutely loved as it was chocolatey and smooth We shared a coconut scan in the walnut cinnamon scone. Both of them were perfectly golden brown with crispy buttery edges, and absolutely delicious scones do tend to be dense, but these were well balanced. The pineapple matcha was so refreshing and the pineapple taste wasn't over powering. And the Covina coffee was also really good. Parking lot was pretty small only had what seemed about 12 parking spots. Walk in and the interior is fairly small and the way people have to line up is kinda awkward. The line curves to where people are standing in line right in front of the sitting area (cramped if busy). To my surprise (not really) all the pastries were GONE. I didn't get to try anything (I went around noon) so I am bummed! The young lady took my order and she was very nice. There was only two people in front of me before I ordered but honestly my wait time in total was about 5 minutes. The drink I ordered was the hold cream w/ praline top. Kinda embarrassed to say I drank it DOWN before I got to my next destination... The coffee was not strong at all and the cream was a perfect balance. This choice is good if you do not enjoy super strong coffee and want something on the lighter tasting side. Keep in mind that this is a latte so its more milk than anything. The matcha is vibrant and fresh and not overly milky like a lot of places--and the coconut syrup tastes authentic instead of artificial, which I really appreciate. The shop itself is clean, simple, and adorable. But what really sets them apart is the service. Every single person is so kind and welcoming, and they genuinely make an effort to get to know their customers. My husband and I tried their hold cream latte, black cocoa biscotti latte, and their Covina latte. The hold cream latte is my favorite from them (I want to say top three coffees I've had this year). The cream is perfectly sweet and has a slight nutty flavor. The coffee itself was really smooth but I did feel a little jittery afterwards (not a bad thing!). My husband preferred the Covina latte from them because he's a sucker for coconut flavored coffees. But the star(s?) are definitely the scones!! I'm always on the hunt for buttery scones and theirs did not disappoint. We have since tried their vanilla scone, lemon poppyseed scone and apple wood ham + jalapeno scone. Hold Coffee (West Covina) is not awful. I had the Hold Cream Latte ($7 - Menu Price). It's Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Almond, Two Shots of Espresso, Milk, and House Praline Cream. Unfortunately, the coffee tastes very milky and bland. It's weak coffee. I still felt sleepy. (Note: Currently, there's a Soft Open sale. It's 10% off all drinks.) I arrived at Hold Coffee (West Covina) on Tuesday (around 9:15AM). Parking is easy. There's a small, available front lot. Staff is very friendly & welcoming. Staff politely answered all my questions. My drink took one minute and 28 seconds. Fast! As mentioned, I did not love the Hold Cream Latte. It tastes frugal and cheap. This coffee reminds me of those bottled mochas sold in the grocery store. This coffee is forgettable, and I hope the quality improves with time. On ambiance, Hold Coffee (West Covina) is cute and charming. There's also customer internet with password; customers must ask staff for details. However, there's zero electrical outlets; there's no public restroom nor hand sanitizer bottle; and the seats/benches are hard & uncomfortable. There's about three mini stool tables. Fortunately, the location is very clean, and there's upbeat, fun music. Overall, I had an adequate experience at Hold Coffee (West Covina). My husband and I are on a mission to try all the local coffee shops in the area, and Hold Coffee has quickly become one of our favorites. I've been here a few times now, and I believe they're still in their soft opening. The menu is simple, but thoughtfully curated with plenty of great options. Between the two of us, we've tried just about all of their Signature Lattes. My personal favorites are the Black Cocoa Biscotti Latte and the Covina Latte. Both are well-balanced and not overly sweet. The scones deserve some love too. The Ham & Jalapeño Scone was an instant favorite, flaky and packed with flavor. They also have a corn scone (I think...I can't remember the exact name), and it was just as delicious. Every visit has been a great experience. The staff is genuinely friendly, service is quick, and parking is easy (the holy trinity). My only wish is that they extend their hours in the future. Right now they're closed on Saturdays and Sundays, which makes it harder to stop by on weekends. If you're looking for a new local coffee spot, I'd definitely recommend giving Hold Coffee a try. I randomly happened to be in the area for work around 11am on a Saturday. When I did a Yelp search for "Coffee", Hold was just a mile away. Unassuming location, simple exterior, but man is this place incredible. I ordered a cortado and, on the recommendation of the barista, a pumpkin scone to go with it. Amazing recc. I also tried the Matcha and Elote scones. Both had great flavor, but the Elote was my favorite. The texture on the inside could be improved, though, as they were a bit denser than I expected. One thing to keep in mind is that the shop is pretty small, so it isn't the best place if you're planning to stay for a while to study or work.
