This place is solid! Amazing drinks, amazing scones, and the sister team that own it are friendly. Parking lot is small and a line usually forms before they open at 8. I was headed to work and needed my morning caffeine fix. I went with their hold cream latte. Just the right amount of sweet for me and ohhh sooo good. In a last minute decision I also went with a house made scone and boy I did not regret it. The corn scone with jam was amazing. My one wish is they were opened just a little earlier than 8. Since I usually need to be at work by then I happened to go on a day I didn't need to be there by then. But it makes it a non option for me on any regular work day.

I finally got to try one of the newest coffee shops in the area. Plenty of parking was available. I went in the early afternoon and there were several people in line. The inside is nice and minimally decorated. Customer service was friendly. I was recommended the black coco biscotti latte. At the time, they also had a soft opening 10% off discount on all drinks. They were unfortunately out of scones for the day. There was a matcha black sesame scone that sounded good that I wanted to try. The drink was ready within five minutes. The latte was good. I got it minimally sweet and it was just right. The flavor of the coffee shined through. I definitely need to come back again to try their matcha and scone. Overall, a nice coffee shop to grab and go for a drink fix.

My new favorite coffee shop in West Covina! I drive out of my way for this coffee shop. The coffee is amazing and their menu is amazing. I try and try something new every time I've come. My husband loves their Coldbrew and it's consistent every time. My favorite is the Pineapple Matcha, it's perfectly balanced in sweetness and flavor The scones are to die for, they are made in house and if you're lucky enough to catch them right out of the oven, you're in for an experience. The blueberry scone is my favorite. My only feedback is that their "cream top" drinks are not nut allergy friendly, I hope to expand their cream top options to include a nut allergy friendly option.

Cute little spot. Still in soft opening mode. The scones though.... Sooo good. Tried the corn and the ham/jalapeno one. Corn is my fave. Also tried the vanilla latte and strawberry matcha. My husband is a strawberry matcha snob and he actually liked it. I do want to try other menu items so will be back soon.

Got the Pineapple Matcha, less sweet with Oat Milk. You can taste a balance of both pineapple and matcha. Would not think of this combo but I liked it! I also got a Raspberry Corn scone and that was crumbly and the perfect texture. Will be back to try the coffee and scones.

I truly have been wanting to try this place since it launched it soft opening, but the hours unfortunately do not align with my work schedule. Finally was off on Friday and did not waste any time heading over there. The place is small, but quaint and welcoming with friendly staff a.k.a. I believe the owners. I ordered the iced strawberry Matcha, which is made with in housemaid strawberry syrup. I was concerned to drink would be too sweet as I normally drink my Matcha unsweetened, but very pleasantly surprised how balance was and how you could taste. The syrup was not artificial my husband had the iced black cocoa biscotti which he absolutely loved as it was chocolatey and smooth We shared a coconut scan in the walnut cinnamon scone. Both of them were perfectly golden brown with crispy buttery edges, and absolutely delicious scones do tend to be dense, but these were well balanced. We both did agree that our favorite was the coconut one. Overall, this is a solid place for coffee and look forward to their full regular hours

First timer! I have been seeing so many videos trending about this place so I definitely had to try it out since it was somewhat local! Parking lot was pretty small only had what seemed about 12 parking spots. Walk in and the interior is fairly small and the way people have to line up is kinda awkward. The line curves to where people are standing in line right in front of the sitting area (cramped if busy). To my surprise (not really) all the pastries were GONE. I didn't get to try anything (I went around noon) so I am bummed! The young lady took my order and she was very nice. There was only two people in front of me before I ordered but honestly my wait time in total was about 5 minutes. The drink I ordered was the hold cream w/ praline top. Kinda embarrassed to say I drank it DOWN before I got to my next destination... The coffee was not strong at all and the cream was a perfect balance. This choice is good if you do not enjoy super strong coffee and want something on the lighter tasting side. Keep in mind that this is a latte so its more milk than anything. My total came out to $6.50 since they currently have their soft opening promotion of 10% off drinks. I hope to try the matcha next!

The coconut matcha has me in an absolute chokehold. It is SO good! The matcha is vibrant and fresh and not overly milky like a lot of places--and the coconut syrup tastes authentic instead of artificial, which I really appreciate. The shop itself is clean, simple, and adorable. But what really sets them apart is the service. Every single person is so kind and welcoming, and they genuinely make an effort to get to know their customers. My husband took my daughter, Storm, in one day without me, and they recognized her right away! He came home and said, "They know Storm at the new coffee shop." That kind of personal touch is rare these days, and it's clear they truly care about the people who walk through their doors. I can't wait to keep coming back!

Hold Coffee (West Covina) is not awful. I had the Hold Cream Latte ($7 - Menu Price). It's Madagascar Vanilla Bean, Almond, Two Shots of Espresso, Milk, and House Praline Cream. Unfortunately, the coffee tastes very milky and bland. It's weak coffee. I still felt sleepy. (Note: Currently, there's a Soft Open sale. It's 10% off all drinks.) I arrived at Hold Coffee (West Covina) on Tuesday (around 9:15AM). Parking is easy. There's a small, available front lot. Staff is very friendly & welcoming. Staff politely answered all my questions. My drink took one minute and 28 seconds. Fast! As mentioned, I did not love the Hold Cream Latte. It tastes frugal and cheap. This coffee reminds me of those bottled mochas sold in the grocery store. This coffee is forgettable, and I hope the quality improves with time. On ambiance, Hold Coffee (West Covina) is cute and charming. There's also customer internet with password; customers must ask staff for details. However, there's zero electrical outlets; there's no public restroom nor hand sanitizer bottle; and the seats/benches are hard & uncomfortable. There's about three mini stool tables. Fortunately, the location is very clean, and there's upbeat, fun music. Overall, I had an adequate experience at Hold Coffee (West Covina). As it is, I can't recommend this spot; however; I do hope this business improves with time. It's a not awful place. 3.4 out of 5

A steady stream of customers were coming in to partake in the soft opening of this locally-owned coffee spot. Carolyn and Katie are sisters and jointly opened their dream shop. Fresh baked goods are made in-house daily. The menu has Classic and Signature drinks: Lattes, Espresso, Americano, Cortado, Flat White and Cappuccino. I orderd an Iced Covina Latte from the Signature list ($6.5). It was refreshing, slightly sweet, with Coconut as the main flavor, made with Oat Milk and Cinnamon. Sweetened Condensed Milk was part of the recipe, I thought it might taste more like a "dessert" drink, but it was light and perfect! Non-coffee drinks are: Lemonade, Tea, Sparkling waters (Peach, Guava, Pineapple), and Matcha (Strawberry, Pineapple, or Coconut flavors). A good variety of scones are available, priced at $6 to $6.75 each: Black Sesame, Wild Blueberry, Cranberry-Orange, Cinnamon- Walnut, Madagascar, Vanilla, and savory Applewood Ham with Jalepeno. *During the soft opening, orders are 10% off. *Current hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 3pm., closed weekends. *Free parking in the shared lot. Sincerely, Rosemary

    The Black Cocoa Biscotti

I was in search of something cold with a flavor that was bold and from what I was told I had to check out the Hold. After my first sip my tastebuds were rocking like Ben Folds! But at the end of the cup I was about to implode. So let me tell you what I ordered to make me feel this way. Black Cocoa Biscotti was the drink and it came with Dutch cocoa, roasted hazelnut and caramel with house praline cream. Ohhh man this was really good and will definitely get this again along with another one of their exciting drinks. The service is good and I can tell they really enjoy the craft. Parking is limited and there is no restroom available. It's a great grab and go spot and that's my take on this coffee spot, Peace out peeps.

Hold Coffee a great addition to West Covina. I am so glad to stop by Hold Coffee during their soft opening. It's a family owned business. My goal is to support small business. Parking was easy. In case you didn't find a spot, you can park on the street or at Food 4 Less plaza. I went early but the shop was super busy but honestly the service was excellent and very fast. The staff were very cheerful and genuinely warm. It's a pick up type of coffee shop style. The decor was simple and nice. The shop was very clean. They have a very delicious drink menu, but the scones menu was the one I was keeping my eyes on. We got - Covina latte 5/5 It had cinnamon, coconut, sweetened condensed milk, milk and espresso as they described. It was just an excellent drink! - Black coco Biscotti 5/5 It had roasted hazelnut, Dutch black cocoa, espresso, caramel, milk, and praline cream. It was very rich in flavor, silky and refreshing drink. For scones we had: - Apricot pecan 5/5 It was buttery, rich in flavor, perfectly sweet, nutty with crispy edges. - Corn Scone 5/5 Very flavorful, flaky and buttery. I had not tried any scone like it before. Their scones were outstanding! The BEST scones I tried around. They ran out of many scones that I wanted to try. On my second visit, I went very early. They just opened the shop. Early in the morning, you can enjoy the various assortment of tgeir delicious scones. I had the chance to try the apple wood ham and Jalapeños. It was delicious as I expected, mild spicy and very flavorful. I also ordered orange cranberry and blueberry scone which were crumbly, flaky, buttery and flavorful. Their scones are the best! For drinks, I got Covina latte with oat milk and black cocoa biscotti again. These drinks became my favorite! What a wonderful Coffee shop! We really enjoyed our drinks and scones. Definitely, I will come back.

    Elote scone
    Jonathon G.

I ordered the Hold Cold Cream Top Latte, and it was really good. The coffee was smooth, and the cream topping paired well with the espresso without being overly sweet. I also tried the Matcha and Elote scones. Both had great flavor, but the Elote was my favorite. The texture on the inside could be improved, though, as they were a bit denser than I expected. One thing to keep in mind is that the shop is pretty small, so it isn't the best place if you're planning to stay for a while to study or work. Overall, I'd definitely come back for the coffee and would recommend giving it a try.

Full service, fresh ingredients, clean space, great music…read more Took a chance exploring something new without really reading the reviews and couldn't have asked for anything better. We parked in the structure behind the restaurant. On weekends, parking is free for an indefinite amount of time. When we entered, we were greeted by the friendly staff and got a table by the window. The space is bright and filled with calming green accents and plants. The menu is simple and well curated. I briefly read some of the reviews while at the restaurant and they didn't lie, the crispy pork belly is a must. We ordered the Chili Oil Toast which comes with pork belly and avocado. If you're into numbing spice and a lot of chili oil, this dish is definitely for you. My tolerance is pretty weak, but the flavor is amazing! The house-made bread was extra crispy and delicious, but the pork belly... you'll just need to try it for yourself! My favorite was the Breakfast Burrito. This item was healthy and easy to eat. The egg was fluffy, the avocado was fresh, the turkey bacon added the perfect amount of salt, and the sweet potato balanced the salt. For the drinks, the Spanish Latte (hot) was a clear winner. The Matcha Latte was equally great, but needed a bit more syrup, which they kindly provided on the side. Highly recommend checking this place out when they have live DJs too! Customers are also free to sign up to DJ. The sets for sign ups start from 3PM to 9PM on Saturday.

Food-wise, we couldn't have asked for better. The pork belly was absolutely delicious, the sourdough bread was perfectly soft, and the potatoes were seasoned just right. I'm not usually a big coffee drinker, but their iced vanilla latte won me over. Add in the DJ playing chill background music and the overall friendly atmosphere, and you've got a spot that nails both the food and the experience. I feel that when matcha is made fresh it tastes better and more care goes into the drink and the craft. I will say the cold foams were in a squeeze bottle and premade. The worker said they're made fresh daily, which does add some comfort, but I still prefer them made to order. Anyway, I received my drink and gave it a taste.
