My toddler daughter needed glasses and we already had a prescription from her pediatric Ophthalmologist. I was searching for a place closer to home that carried toddler frames, because the recommendations from her pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Dohney eye institute in Pasadena were all in SGV. I called New Vision specifically asking about frames for my 20-month old and after being satisfied with their answers, made an appointment. However, their selection was disappointing and they didn't have the strap-on toddler frames, as I was told on the phone. I went with the only viable option reluctantly because I wanted to get the glasses and didn't want to waste more time. I gave them the prescription (in paper form) and they had trouble with their scanner so told me they'd give it back to me when we picked up the glasses. I asked if my daughter needed to be present, and they said yes. When glasses were ready, they texted me at 3:48 Friday asking me to make an appointment, and said they were closing at 4:15 and reopened on Monday. Had I been notified even a couple hours earlier, I could have rearranged my schedule instead of waiting until Monday. So that was disappointing. Finally when picking them up, my daughter tried them on but they didn't really do anything else so not sure why my daughter needed to be present or why I needed to make an appointment. And they also didn't have the paper prescription that I had been promised. The person giving me the glasses made zero effort and just told me how easy it is to request it again from the ophthalmologist office. I obviously know this. This just underscored to me that things aren't communicated properly about patient requests.

The Dr. was great she explained every test and the exams, step by step, I really appreciated her professionalism and she was very pleasant. Then it came down to the staff; Mary Lu and Maria they are exceptional, so kind, attentive, patient, thorough and really engaging with you in helping you find the perfect frames to the most proper tint. I can't say enough about Stein Optics in Burbank they are the best. Best of all I left there with new contacts and I can See.

The reason I am giving them 4 stars is because they don't answer the phone most of the time and they text you letting you know they will call you back and unfortunately they don't. I understand this is because they're busy but you are lead to believe that they will call you back. You will have to call a few times. The second reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was quoted a different price for my contacts the first time vs the second time. Meaning at the store I was told it would be *this price* and then when I called to pay the next day, I was told it was *this price*. I was also told that shipping would be a less amount of time then quoted so it does seem like there's a messaging mis-alignment but that's okay- will improve over time. It's happened before so the doctor looked at it and saw an eyelash and pulled it out no problem. I called since I'm having a similar issue. Now they refuse to help me. Pushed me off on some other doctor and ophthalmologist. I asked if they can just take a look and without being able to give me a reason why, they've decided it will be out of pocket. Completely unhelpful. Looks like I'll be finding a new doctor who wants to help patients, not just push them off on someone else or dismiss them without a consult first.

I decided to try Dr. Hakopian and I was so pleased with my overall experience. She was very thorough and spent about 45 minutes with me. She carefully and patiently did an eye exam for me after I expressed I have sensitive eyes and explained every process step by step and went over the results, unlike other doctors I've been to who don't even go over your results with you. She went over my original prescription given by my previous doctor & compared it to the new prescription she was going to give me. She actually showed me on the machine the difference between my old & new prescription & how differently I was seeing between both lenses. She made recommendations to the new lenses she was going to give me & explained why she's going to prescribe those specific numbers & how that would be most beneficial for me. It's been almost 3 months since I've been using these new glasses & they are perfect! Such a major difference from the previous one to this one. No headaches, no blurriness. She doesn't take my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket, but I took a chance anyway and it was worth it!!! Very happy with my first visit with Dr. Hakopian. Most offices charge a minimum of $200/patient, however, I was able to get a second opnion for both my parents for under $300 total. From start to finish, everything was efficient, professional and well organized. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to explain each step of the exam, which made the entire visit feel comfortable and stress free. Dr. Ani Grigorian completed a thorough and attentive exam on both my parents while addressing all of my questions and concerns. I never felt rushed, and the level of care was excellent. The convenience of having eye care within Costco, combined with the quality of service, makes this an easy choice. There are no bells and whistles here.... just professional care. I was told it was not their responsibility, and the receptionist was extremely rude, dismissive, and unwilling to acknowledge the mistake or even offer a simple apology. While I didn't expect them to undo the purchase, I did expect some level of accountability or customer care. I followed up with an email to express my concerns and was completely ignored. It's incredibly frustrating to be misinformed about something that directly impacts a costly decision, and even more frustrating to be treated so poorly when trying to resolve it. Because of this experience, they have lost not only me as a patient, but also my husband. I would not recommend this office based on their lack of professionalism and customer service.

The frames were of poor quality, seemingly sourced cheaply from China. At the time, I didn't know what the going rate was, and since I knew her personally, I felt embarrassed to question the price. So, I paid the amount, trusting her and not expecting to be taken advantage of. Recently, I had an eye exam at another optometrist office (this exam was $85- no additional charges) and the doctor informed me that my eyes are fine for over-the-counter reading glasses, and I didn't need prescription lenses. Given that I have a +1.50 prescription, this made me realize I was likely overcharged for something I didn't need, which is deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this practice to anyone and advise others to be cautious when seeking services here.

I had to use my old glasses from another optometrist to be able to read. Additionally, I brought my own frames which had a loose screw. They replaced the screw but used a long screw that it stuck out the other end. Lastly, my old optometrist gave away a free case when you bring in just your glasses.
