This was the first time I've had an eye exam by an optometrist trying to coax me into believing my eyes are unable to focus naturally.. more closely to someone 20 years older than my age. I asked if this test is aimed to purposely have me choose between two extremely blurry letter sets that I could not read. She confirms it is, and proceeds to tell me how my eyes are unable to focus and how unhealthy and abnormal my eye focus ability is before preying on me to try and get special readers and adjusting my prescription to fit that bill. I appreciate the previous years of service but I'm not obligated to buy frames from this store. I came in only for contact prescriptions.

Dr. Le was thorough, clear, personable, and professional. She took the time to explain everything to me, made me feel at ease, and I truly felt taken care of throughout the visit. I feel lucky to have found this practice through my insurance. When I receive this level of care, it really stands out, and I wanted to acknowledge it. My experience was okay, not exceptional but good. The office was definitely clean and updated. I arrived a few minutes early on my appointment time and was promptly seen, after completing a one page questionnaire and paying my copay. The male doctor's assistant that took me in, asked me some preliminary questions, etc. was very good and thorough. I really appreciated his attention to detail. The doctor, Dr. Chang, was nice and casual in bedside manner. I did my best to explain my concerns and what brought be there. He did the routine exams, views, retina looks, etc. Not sure if I didn't make myself clear, or maybe he was just very confident everything was okay, i just walked out not certain that my concern about the buckle on my eye was okay since it was installed so long ago. Maybe I was expecting more? The only other issue that I had was the female workers in the back, near where I was located in the office. They were so loud the whole time I was there carrying on about personal matters, jokes, etc... It was definitely annoying...

They don't really care if the frames they're choosing for you is actually suitable for your face. They just want to make sure you fall in love with frames that are $500+ I got flattered into buying a pair beautiful plastic YSL frames, but being Asian with very little nose bridge, these plastic frames (not very adjustable) are super annoying as they constantly slip off my nose. Seems like advice your "optometrist" office would give you, if they actually cared about you. Well, they did a good job selling me since I walked out of there dropping $1500 for two progressive glasses! Oh, and that's after insurance. Whatever that means because the two "saleswomen" and the guy who also does the "fitting" are clueless and can't explain your benefits to save their lives. Shame on me for falling prey to their inauthentic "help" fitting me for frames. Mind you, when I was getting fit/in shopping mode, they were sweet as pie but when I went back in to ask for an adjustment so my $1000 glasses could fit me better, they could give zero sh!ts. So transparent. All I can advise is buyer beware and stand firm on your budget. I don't think they have frames for under $400. In the past, I've always felt like a number at optometry offices, which is why I don't have an optometrist that I see regularly. Healthcare has become an area that is more about quantity rather than quality..however, seeing Dr. Nguyen was completely different. Her office is welcoming and very hip! It was so easy to vibe with her and speak openly about my past vision problems. She took the time to explain my vision health and answered all of my questions. She is up to date with the latest technology and I even inquired about my candidacy for LASIK vision. She explained the pros and cons and provided me with great resources to learn more. They were all super friendly and welcoming As a new patient, I had no problems with the paperwork and insurance. I called ahead of time to make sure that my insurance would cover the visit, and she went above and beyond and called the insurance company herself! Overall, I was in and out of my exam in less than 30 minutes! Definitely possible during your lunch break, or a quick stop while running errands. Dr. Nguyen answered all of my questions regarding my eye care and health. She even used pictures to help explain what was going on with my eyes. I was initially hesitant to enter because the signs on the door were in Korean so I was skeptical that they'd help me, but then I thought That's ridiculous, we're in the United States, why wouldn't they help me? And went in anyway. It turns out I should've trusted my gut. Big time. Literally the second I walked in I was rudely told by the receptionist "We're closed". It was 5:10pm on a Monday. Their posted hours said open til 6pm. So I said "I thought you close at 6?" A crotchety old doctor man interjected abruptly "We close at 5:30". Their rude aggressive demeanor was not ok with me, so I said "You say you close at 5:30, but it's only 5:10, so that would leave me 20 minutes to browse frames, right?" Crotchety senile doctor barks "No!". I said "Oh really? From 5:10 to 5:30 isn't 20 minutes? Is my math wrong?" They all just looked at me. Then the receptionist said "We need time to put the frames away." Um first of all that's only if I actually saw some frames I wanted to try, but more importantly that's part of operating a business. And as I'm looking for something specific and can tell by looking if a frame will suit me or not, it's unlikely I would've even touched many frames. And *on their website* their POSTED HOURS are until 6pm Mondays. I definitely won't be spending a penny here and would encourage anyone else to go elsewhere.
