I got some regular gel nails with cat eye, which they didn't really know how to do, even though I sent them a picture of what I wanted in advance and they said they could do it. It ended up taking them 7 layers of polish to get it kind of right. After 5 days, the gel started lifting and my hair started getting caught on it so I dmed them on Instagram to see if they could do anything and they said I could come in, which I appreciated. They redid the nails without following the colors I picked or even the inspo photo I showed them. The polish was sloppy and uneven, the cuticles were barely touched. Ellen followed up on my review and had me come back in to fix my full set, which shows excellent customer service. Nail tech Diamond suggested I try Gel X on classpass and it's seriously life changing!!! I've been getting acrylics for over 20 years and I am way happier with my nails. They're no longer thick and lumpy most likely because their tips are sturdier than acrylics. I also like that they cut your real nails short and it doesn't require fills but instead you get a new set every time. Bonus that the almond shape is already embedded in the tips!!! I also got a gel pedicure. I got a second tier "Passion" pedicure which includes a scrub and mask because if I got the standard pedicure with an add on callus remover it would've only been $5 cheaper so worth it imo. I usually get my nails done (gel or gel extensions) around every 4-5 weeks at a location farther from home, and so I thought I'd check out this place since it's close by and highly rated. I arrive at my appointment time to get my gel extensions removed (just a simple procedure to see how they'd do), and they're able to see me 12 minutes later. I sit at a manicure area. The technician did a good job with the electric nail drill to remove the polish, and they left me to soak my nails in a warmed bowl of acetone. I feel like bowls of acetone are not commonly used at salons anymore due to the brittle and drying effect they have on skin and nails, so I was surprised and a little uncomfortable to dunk my hands in there, but I decided to just follow directions. I dunk my hands for approximately 30 minutes which would be fine if I had cotton strips on my nails wrapped with foil, but it felt very drying to leave my hands in a bowl of acetone for that length of time. The technician comes back and begins to use the drill to remove the gel extensions, and at my request, she trims my nails and quickly files them. My nails came out looking quite uneven as well as quite rough. My cuticles and general skin are super dry despite cuticle oil and washing my hands. There's even leftover gel residue on my hands. When I've gotten removal at other salons, they typically shape your nails, remove cuticles, and just overall leave a better-looking appearance on the nail, so this salon definitely fell short. I totally understand that this is just a standard procedure, removal, rather than it being a beauty procedure, but as a business focused on beautifying the hands, I expected them to have just better care since I'd personally be surprised to let someone leave the salon with how my nails looked. I left 2 stars as opposed to one, which was my original rating, because this is more of a standard procedure than a beauty procedure. However, beware they straight up made me dunk my hands in a bowl of acetons....not great for the skin! read more

I had such a great experience at HN Passion Nails! I came in for Gel-X extensions and a removal of my old builder gel, and Diamond was my nail tech. She was absolutely wonderful--so sweet, patient, and accommodating the entire time. I have very sensitive skin and tend to bite my cuticles, but Diamond took such gentle care of me. She made sure the acetone didn't burn or cause any discomfort and was incredibly mindful during the filing process, which I really appreciated.
