Needless to say, it always looked crooked and sloppy. I never wanted my eyebrows tattooed because the ones I've seen on people end up looking blue and weird. But I started looking into micro blading after I had my 3rd child and I just felt and looked...bedraggled (see before pic ). I literally researched and obsessed over who to see and if I should even do it. Then along comes my amazing local mom's group who recommend over half a dozen artists in LA for microblading. I tried to do this without considering the cost even though we're on a super tight budget because I wanted to find the best person for the look I was going for and save up. You see, I had my eyeliner done by a makeup artist in Chicago who had "experience" with microblading. Long story short she tattooed below the lash line so the numbing agent didn't take and I felt EVERY STROKE. One side was partially done and the other side barely showed any liner. It took hours and hours and it hurt like crazy. I should mention that I have a dozen regular tattoos and am accustomed to tattoo pain... I finally settled on Christen at Brow Tendre and it was the best thing I ever did. The process was painless and she has the most amazing, gentle touch. I fell asleep twice during the brows and we talked like old friends unless it was time for me to shut my trap and get purdy! She knew my history with skin numbing issues and was patient, gentle and kind throughout the whole thing. I loved my brows so I went back for eyeliner too. Glendale is a beautiful but busy city so it made me nervous that parking would be hard to find the first time I had gone but where here office is located they have a parking lot. It is also conveniently located across from a Starbucks and lots of fun food joints. Upon arrival I had text Christen that I would be heading to Starbucks and was afraid I'd be running a few minutes. I did text her to let her know but she mentioned she had not seen it because she was with a client and had not seen it. Which I totally understand. She did not look at her phone once while she was with me during my appointment. Her attention was completely on me the entire time. It was great because I've had plenty of people doing services on me and were always distracted by their phone.. I understand that all eyebrows are different and some people may need a little more time but mine was a touch up and the appointment was quick and easy. She also made this appointment super comfortable with her friendly disposition. The office itself is so vibrant in color and beautiful in display not to mention how clean it is! I decided to text the business, to see if there were any cancellations and they responsed so quickly and very professional (which is a rare fine already these days). Just my luck there was an open appointment, and I booked with IVY whom I wanted to see. The shop is very clean, and modern minimal style which is right up my alley. I was greeted right when I came in, and actually taken right away. I told her I was a first time customer, and IVY took the time to ask me questions about what I wanted for my eyebrows. She even asked me if I was okay with starting me while she finishing tinting someone else (I appreciate she gave me the option, and I didnt mind her going between both of us) Everything was a 10/10. The way she mapped my eyebrows, the conversation/music we were listening too. She checked in with me during every step to make sure I was comfortable, and happy. I would definitely go back for tinting after talking to IVY about them. After the shaping, she asked me if I wanted them filled in as well (she even offered if I wanted to watch her to do it step by step). I actually really loved my eyebrows, with the fill in & with out. When I lived in the UK I was a successful well known actress who worked in theater and TV on TV for many years. During that time I did countless modeling and photo shoots and worked with top London stylists and leading make-up artists. So I think I know a good stylist when I find one. When I first came to LA in 2004, I went to several in Beverly Hills, etc...they were good, but then I stumbled across Lida and her team, completely by accident. I have never looked back. I've added my recent hair cut photos, please note, I don't color my hair anymore - decided to let the grey grow through, I am 60 now! This was my hair cut by Lida 6 weeks ago, just before my birthday in March. The real Lida talent is that 6 weeks later, I can wash my hair and go - the cut is so exemplary, I don't have to blow dry or use product to make it look great. The cut is everything and Lida is that - she is the gal with everything. Plus there is always great conversation, other great women and fabulous food and beverages for everyone. Called and made an appointment for a facial. Hard to make an appointment due to their time schedule and mine, but finally got one in. The room where you get your facial is too small. The gurney is against the wall so the person doing my facial can't walk around me, but it was okay. She searched for every black head she could find on my nose and face. Very thorough. Also very painful having those pushed out, but I felt like I definitely got my moneys worth. The second time I went, I had a different person doing my facial, and she wasn't as through as the first person, but it was ok. Getting your underarm waxed here isn't painful. It was okay, but I feel like the European Wax Center does a better job. Still gonna come back here though for facials and underarm waxing due to the cost and convenience of free parking.
