I wake up looking put together every morning now thanks to Christen! I have 3 kids, 2 dogs and run a small home business so putting on makeup before seeing Christen was eyeliner and brow filler at red lights! Needless to say, it always looked crooked and sloppy. I never wanted my eyebrows tattooed because the ones I've seen on people end up looking blue and weird. But I started looking into micro blading after I had my 3rd child and I just felt and looked...bedraggled (see before pic ). I literally researched and obsessed over who to see and if I should even do it. Then along comes my amazing local mom's group who recommend over half a dozen artists in LA for microblading. I tried to do this without considering the cost even though we're on a super tight budget because I wanted to find the best person for the look I was going for and save up. You see, I had my eyeliner done by a makeup artist in Chicago who had "experience" with microblading. Long story short she tattooed below the lash line so the numbing agent didn't take and I felt EVERY STROKE. One side was partially done and the other side barely showed any liner. It took hours and hours and it hurt like crazy. I should mention that I have a dozen regular tattoos and am accustomed to tattoo pain... I finally settled on Christen at Brow Tendre and it was the best thing I ever did. The process was painless and she has the most amazing, gentle touch. I fell asleep twice during the brows and we talked like old friends unless it was time for me to shut my trap and get purdy! She knew my history with skin numbing issues and was patient, gentle and kind throughout the whole thing. I loved my brows so I went back for eyeliner too. I first saw Christen in 2018 and just this Friday I got my touch up. Both occasion that I have seen her were extremely pleasant. In fact I feel like my second visit was even better than the last. She is constantly evolving in her work ethic. Glendale is a beautiful but busy city so it made me nervous that parking would be hard to find the first time I had gone but where here office is located they have a parking lot. It is also conveniently located across from a Starbucks and lots of fun food joints. Upon arrival I had text Christen that I would be heading to Starbucks and was afraid I'd be running a few minutes. Instead of inquiring as to why I was in urgent need of a follow up Christen COWERS and does mot stand by her work. I do not enjoy providing negative reviews, but I feel I've been left with no choice. A close friend of mine had her eyebrows micro bladed elsewhere and she was unhappy with the results. I undoubtedly referred her to Christen, knowing she'd do an amazing job. Unfortunately, the results were not what my friend had expected and nor as I would have expected. My friend was too embarrassed to mention her unhappiness to me as I was the one that referred her. The color is extremely faint and you can barely see the outline and strokes. It's as if her eyebrows were not micro bladed at all. I have tried reaching out to Christen since November to rectify my friend's dissatisfaction. Initially she replied back, but as soon as I notified her of my friend's concerns and request to rectify, she has stopped communicating with me. I went in for micro blading which is no small thing. Tattooing one's face is make or break. Christen was my choice based on the great Yelp ratings and based on her obvious talent as an artist. 2.5 years later I finally felt like a touch up was getting to be necessary and Browtendre delivered yet again! This time she did some light shading as well as the blade strokes and my eyebrows look so much fuller. I can't believe they lasted so long from my first appointment, microblading has been so so worth it for me. At the same maintenance appointment she did soft eyeliner for me in a beautiful dark brown so the look can be for everyday and not reminiscent of my middle school raccoon phase.
