Leo was responsive, reasonable, friendly and made quick work of taking down a Pine tree, grinding the stump and cleaning up 3 other trees. He also let us add on grinding 2 more stumps the same day. They messed up and they know it and then the owner said oh well I'll fix it you just tell me what you need and I'll get it for you and I'll bring it to you. I told him what I needed and I never got an answer. Then I post a review an honest review and he starts bombarding me with text and phone calls yet again. You know when you lie to people over and over again they tend to just ignore you.... So this guy knew exactly what he needed to do, he said he would do it, I gave him a list of what he needed to bring here to repair the damage that his company caused. He said he would and then he never did. And then he bombarded me with phone calls and text messages yet again probably wanting me to take down my one star rating which I will never do now. If you hire this company you need to be out there with an Eagle eye and call them out on everything that they do that damages your property! I mean these people destroyed my property and then left piles of trash that cost me $1,500 to be removed. They stole items that were near and dear to me. And no it wasn't the owner it was the workers but you know what if you employed them you're responsible for them! Like I said if you employ them make sure you're home and you're out there following them around like toddlers and telling them what they can and can't do because if you don't they'll just do whatever the hell they want! But, instead he left twice during cutting and came back after we told the workers it wasn't done as guaranteed. They did minimal cutting , argued with us, thus making the process stressful. I have 1/3 of an acre up in the Big Bear area and had so many trees that had gotten WAY over grown and a lot that needed trimming. I actually had 2 properties up here that needed attention. The other property had 9 very tall pine trees that had multiple dead branches that needed to be trimmed and most of them are over 200' tall. Not only did I get a very good estimate, HLI started the work that day, removing 3 100', diseased pines on my primary residence in under 2 hours, both properties were completed the following day!! The HLI team even cut all the pine in 12" cakes and stacked them so I and my neighbors could later use them for fire wood. The other thing I appreciated and didn't know was, HLT uses a bucket lift to trim pine trees because the spikes most company's use cause the pine trees to leak sap that attract Pine Beatles that eventually kill the trees. The owner of HLT supervised both jobs, making sure I was 100% happy, before accepting a penny from me!! I am MUCH happier now that my lake and Mountain View is unobstructed!! Update: Since my initial review this morning, someone from HLI contacted me. We assured them that is was their company that dropped the load with the palm trees. They said they would come pick up the palm trees and they are here now chipping up the palm trees. Thank you for your responsiveness, HLI! But a word to the wise about ChipDrop....They have been unresponsive. Warning: Do not accept CHIPDROPs from this company!!! We received a ChipDrop from this company on May 1. We requested chips, no logs. Once we began to distribute the "chips" it became apparent that this company dumped AT LEAST 2500 lbs of palm trees. See photo. This is not what a chip drop is suppose to be. I contacted ChipDrop as well as the contact who dumped the load. NO response! VERY unhappy! read more
