Highly recommend. Have used this service before. This time removed tree too close to house. Trimmed tangerine and lemon tree. Cleared tall grass on rear hill. Cleaned leaves from slope. Removed overgrown hedge in front yard. Thoroughly cleaned up, chipped and hauled everything away. Will call again anytime I need tree removal or trimming service. read more

Tree removal is chop chop and drag away, but tree trimming requires patience, skill, and the ability to visualize what the tree should look like from a distance even while you are under it looking straight up while lifting a 12' pole overhead and branches falling on your noggin. My signature tree in our front yard was a beneficiary of this skill. Junior's crew did a great job. I would call Ortega's any time. Use a licensed contractor! p.s. If communication is your #1 priority, virtually every contractor will annoy you. I am not that that person. Judge a contractor by his work. read more

This is the third time I've used Ortega for our palm trees and once again they did not disappoint. They are reasonably priced, do an excellent job, always ask if I'm happy with the work done and clean up the mess thoroughly. I highly recommend them. read more

They have quick customer service but lack understanding details of the job. I asked for them remove a dried up tree, hedge trim two bushes and anchor them against the wall. They trimmed the bushes great and removed the tree! But they anchored only 1 bush on one side by simply utilizing existing wire that was there previously. They were fair on price and open to negotiate. I recommend being very specific and present while they work. read more

Had an extremely stressful and costly experience of hiring this company due to their unprofessional 'bait and switch' behaviors. 1. We sent photos to the owner and he agreed in text messages on what to be done and a price. 2. He explicitly agreed that his team would not use any chemicals and instead would drill 8-10 inches of holes on tree stumps and fill it with Epsom salt that we would provide. On the day his team arrived, his team told us that they did not have the tools to drill holes and would make surface cuts on the stumps instead. That should have been a tell-tale sign, but unfortunately we proceeded with the service. 3. Without any prior warning, his team also poured gasoline onto the tree stumps before adding salt - gasoline is toxic not only to the trees but also contaminate the ground water and the soil. We have fruit trees nearby. Furthermore, gasoline creates fire hazard. 4. His foreman also strongly recommended to remove a tree instead of trimming it due to, "invasive root problem" according to him. Even when we told him that we would like to maintain it at around 15 ft tall, he was adamant that the tree 'would grow so fast' and would cause the pavement nearby to crack. He also recommended to remove another nearby tree that was only about 5-6 feet and 3-4 ft wide, because again according to him, the root could cause pavement issue that would be much more expensive to repair. We were foolish enough to listen to them, thinking that they were the 'professional'. For an extra cost of $400, they removed both. We only realized afterwards, after searching online and identifying the specific species of trees that we had, they were completely wrong - the large tree had little risk to its surrounding hardscape if kept as a column at 15 ft tall, nor would the 5-6 ft tall tree. They only made the recommendations to gain the extra profit. The owner saw the picture of the large tree and never said anything in text messages days before the service (we would have had more time to look up information before making a decision), and instead, they made the recommendation on the day of service, leaving owner vulnerable to agree to their recommendations due to time constraint. We lost two beautiful trees that would cost over a thousand to replace and would still take years to reach similar maturity. 5. The owner also agreed to trim some bushes, but again his team said they did not have the 'right tools' for that so they did not do it - we let it go because we wanted to have the other work done on that day. It is another example of the owner's 'bait-and-switch' behavior. 6 When we tried to contact landscaper to plant new trees in place of the two that were sadly removed, we also realized that we could not grind the tree stumps, at least for a long while, because of the gasoline poured and seeped into the stump - grinding could cause fire hazard and hazard to the workers. 7. It was a headache one after another and we tried to explain it to the owner hoping he could recognize the consequences of his and his team's irresponsible behaviors. We did not request any compensation for the inconvenience, emotional stress or the cost of replacing the trees. I was not planning to write this review had the owner owned up to his behaviors by acknowledging what he had put us through - instead he denied any responsibilities for what had happened and claimed that he refunded $350 of the $400 extra cost they charged for removing the two trees that should not have been removed, only because 'he was a good guy'. We still kick ourselves for making the poor decision of hiring his team and listened to their unprofessional recommendations, and we hope others do not have to go through what we had to go through by reading this review. read more

I got a quote from another company that was less than the quote received from Ortega's Jr Tree Service. I chose to hire Ortega's because of the high rating . If Yelp gave zero stars, I would give zero stars for my experience with Ortega's Jr Tree Service . NO SHOW. NO CALL. What a BIG let down. Met with Ortegas Jr Tree Service rep for a quote on Saturday. Booked to come on Wednesday morning at 8am. No show. No call. I texted a little after 8 with access instructions, After an hour of waiting , no text back. It's now 2 1/2 hours from my appointment time to give Ortega's some kind of response. Nothing but crickets. Not what I expected from a company who has many Yelp reviews. Hmmm. read more

So i found these guys on yelp and their reviews were awesome so I decided to give them a call. They came out today and man I completely understand their 5 Star rating. They were in and out in like 30 minutes and they did a beautiful job trimming my palm trees. They also left the jobsite spotless.. Thank you for doing a great job!! I highly recommend this company.. read more

FANTASTIC work from start to finish. Jonathan (CEO) works quickly and professionally on the quote and scheduling process. His tree trimmers were punctual, clean, efficient, and did excellent work. If you have a POOL, these guys use a HUGE TARP to COMPLETELY protect the pool from tree scraps and palm fronds. In the past, other tree trimming companies have left a mess in my pool. Not these guys. TOTALLY recommend Ortega's Jr Tree Service! read more

They did a great job and were reasonably priced. We asked them to trim back these trees after one lost a branch in a windstorm, and they certainly did as we asked. They cut off quite a lot though, so maybe inform them in advance if you want a milder trim (see photos). read more

Wow!! 24/7 really was 24/7 what a live saver. We had a huge tree come down in the storm at 2:30 am blocking our entire driveway no cars could leave and landing on our neighbors roof. After calling the fire department at 3 am finding out it's my responsibility I looked for tree trimmers. I found Ortega's tree service 24/7 with 500 great reviews and called them at about 4am!! They moved their morning job for us and arrived at 8:20 am !!! I am blown away how quick they had the entire tree removed, shredded and cleaned up in 3 plus hours and took it off my neighbors home without any damage. They came with a bucket lift, shredder, and like 7 people and all is behind me!! Thank you for amazing customer service and great work! You saved my sanity this morning read more

Best Tree Service ever! I've tried quite a few tree, trimmers and landscape companies but from now on, I will be using Ortega's Jr. very fair pricing and top quality work. They cleared my back wall of a bunch of old shrubbery, and reduced a monster orange tree down to a beautiful, nicely, shaped tree! their team was very respectful and friendly, and they made sure they left my grounds looking excellent! They even made sure that the neighbors yard was clear of any leftover debris. I recommend them to anybody and will be posting this review on other online media. read more

We bought a house that needed a lot of attention. It's a half acre lot with 8 huge overgrown trees. It appeared that the outside was neglected for years. A lot of over growth and vines growing everywhere. I called Ortega's tree service. I am extremely satisfied with the whole team's professionalism. They trimmed and removed all debris. They quoted me on Tuesday and worked on Thursday. Very reasonably priced. They worked their butts off. Highly recommend them and will use them again. read more

The good thing is they were available sooner. Just for one Mulberry tree , the price was fair. However, when they were cutting the branches, seems like they were in a hurry. There was a helper who tried to drag the branches along the pathway destroying whatever was in the pathway. I had to raise my voice because I disliked it. I wish they had shaped it. read more

I got many quotes to trim and prune 2 large trees at my property. Jonathan came out and gave me a very fair quote, mind you I had gotten 6 quotes in total from other tree services and they gave the fairest price. His father Sammi who was very nice and friendly showed up on day of job on time with his crew of workers and they did an amazing job cutting my 2 large trees. Was really happy with the service. My trees really look great. They also were nice to clean up my entire roof and parts of backyard for free. They picked up after themselves really well. I would definitely hire them again in the future. Appreciate the work. I would say hire with confidence. They are also licensed. read more

Overall excellent service - would recommend and use them again. This was my 2nd time using them for tree removal services. We had 3 trees removed in one day - the main one was a large pepper tree with deep roots that was damaging my drip irrigation lines and leaning onto the house/roof (pictured). They trimmed the branches first, then chainsawed off the trunk into pieces, then dug out the main root ball. They also fixed my torn irrigation lines afterward and showed me they were all working with no leaks before filling in the dirt and covering them up. They also removed 2 smaller trees (magnolia) very quickly after that. They arrived early, gave me a quote on the spot (that was a good price in my opinion), then worked fast and efficiently and were done within a couple hours (earlier than I had asked). They were nice, friendly, and easy to work with. read more
