Over 2-1/2 years after the last tree trimming by Ayala's Tree Service, several professional tree trimmers showed up to my Redlands house to cut down four wild trees and re-trim several more, including a large Olive Tree and a stately Oak Tree. Work this time included trimming a hedge, cutting back bushes and lowering them to mitigate wildfire hazards that could threaten the house from across the street and a neighbor's backyard, trimming two fruit trees, perfectly shaping a cypress tree, and trimming back a neighbor's trees to the shared fence line. A torn screen on a second story window was even pulled off without extra charge. For everything included in the scope of work, the price was reasonable, and all tasks performed were very professionally done, including an impeccable cleanup of downed branches and leaves. The only hiccups were two popup sprinkler heads being knocked over by workmen's boots. But within two hours of calling after discovering the first downed sprinkler head, two men showed up and quickly fixed the sprinkler. And the second popup sprinkler whose absence resulted in two skyward geysers of water was fully repaired within a few days without me even being present. I had a tree branch fall close to my house last night. Our overgrown liquid amber tree was worrying us it could fall onto our house. I wanted someone to take a look so I just picked the two highest rated people on yelp. I requested a quote from Juan late in the evening. I was blown away that he responded so quickly. It wasn't an automated reply, either. He said I could text him any time. So I did and we scheduled a time to meet early the next morning. Juan arrived on time and explained our options along with some reasonable prices. I know the prices are reasonable because another company showed up an hour later and their prices were much higher. Of course when those guys found out I got a better quote already they were very willing to deal and lower their prices. That just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when someone throws out very high prices to start. It's all a negotiating game and I understand that. We decided to go with Juan and Ayala's Tree Services. They started work the same day (today) and finished the same day. We ended up having more work done than originally planned, and Juan was fine to adjust the quote reasonably along the way. In the end we ended taking out two large trees, one small tree, and two existing stumps. Besides the reasonable price, Juan is an excellent communicator. He made sure we knew he was fully insured. He did work in the back yard and I asked him to let me know when they would start so we could keep our dog inside. He texted me before going back there as I'd requested. He was careful with our property as well he draped a large tarp over our porch to keep debris and junk from getting all over the place. My initial review of Ayala's Tree service didn't stem from our business together, but this one does and I wanted to make sure I did it to commend Juan and his company for providing quick and stellar work. I sent Juan some photos pretty late in the evening that didn't show just how messy my trees were. They hadn't been maintained properly in many years, and I wasn't trying to be deceitful, I just looked at the trees and said "It's time". I wasn't sure if Juan and his crew would see them in person and modify the price, but there was no price adjustment and that meant a lot to me. In all, the job took 30-45 minutes at most and Juan and his crew were very thorough and clean, not leaving a single piece of evidence that they had come out and cut the trees other than the trees themselves looking presentable! They came with a large crew of almost 10 people and worked quick! My palm trees have never been this good looking in the few years I have lived at my property, but I will make sure Ayala's Tree Service is out at my property at least yearly to maintain and keep them looking their best.
