It was great to do business with Ezra and his crew. They pruned nine very tall, old pine trees in the backyard. The pines were heavy and unsafe with overgrowth, and one tree had already lost a large limb in recent winds. I contacted Ezra Tree Service as I had some tree trimming that needed to be done. I contacted three companies via Yelp and Ezra was the first to respond. I was impressed with the company's five star reviews and decided to move forward after receiving a fair estimate. During the estimate process a man named Trinidad showed up on time and gave me a verbal estimate. I wrote this estimate on a business card and re-affirmed the estimate through Yelp messaging as I didn't receive a written estimate. The work that was needed was a pepper tree to be trimmed about 50%, trimming of seven queen palm trees, skinning of seven queen palm trees and removal of a stump. The crew showed up on time. The pepper tree looked great and they trimmed the queen palms as promised. The stump was removed as promised. My issue was that the queen palms were not skinned to my satisfaction. I had explained to Trinidad during the estimate how I wanted them skinned. I wasn't here while they were working but my wife was and my wife didn't complain about the queen palms not being skinned. At the end of the day, I had a Yelp message exchange that identified that the queen palms needed to be skinned and that was part of my estimate. I contacted Ezra to identify that the queen palms were not skinned and he offered to come back out. We were then hit with several storms which were not suitable to perform work in. I followed up once but didn't receive another visit. I'm sure if I was home at the time the skinning would have been done. They attempted to skin five of the seven but only completed about 25% of the skinning and didn't even attempt to skin the last two. Pros: first to return messages, the first to provide an estimate, did a great job on the pepper tree, provided a fair priced estimate, showed up on-time, cleaned up all the mess. Cons: did not provide a written estimate, did not complete the agreement by not skinning the queen palm trees, didn't follow back up after I contacted them. read more
