We're in the process of rethinking our yards, and figured that the trees were long overdue for a trim. I reached out to Melendez Tree Service via Yelp messaging, and they provided fairly quickly! We were able to get a date/time arranged for a visit to quote the work in the following days. Louie came on time on the day of the quote. We walked both yards to see the trees that would need to be trimmed, and he double-checked with me on the trees to be trimmed before providing a quote. The quote wasn't too bad. Due to it being a fairly busy season and he already had his return customers scheduling with him, there wouldn't be any availability for several weeks. We at least slotted a day/time for his next available (around 3 or 4 weeks away)., but with the note that if someone last-minute canceled, then he'd let me know. In the end, my gardener was able to get my trees trimmed last-minute, so I had to cancel my request with Louie. We hired this Tree Service to come to our house to cut our back tree that our dogs use for shade when they came to give us a quote. We were very specific about how we wanted the tree cut. They arrived for their appointment and we secure their services to my surprise, when the job was done, they had completely cut 90% of the tree and left no shade for the dogs when I spoke with the owner at the end of the job and stated that my wife was very specific about how she wanted the tree cut, even walked him through the process he stated that it was a mistake on their part I think they can learn from this and hopefully moving forward communicate with the customers to make sure that they are not just repetitive same service for all customers as not everybody wants the landscaping done the same read more

Louis and his crew showed up over an hour early (which was fine), having texted and called to let me know they were on the way. They did a great job trimming our tree, following my requests exactly. I was concerned the tree would be scalped to just a bundle of sticks, so I specifically asked them to go easy on it. They left plenty of foliage, as requested (see photos). When they were done, we walked around the tree together and they trimmed the few areas I wanted a little tighter, for better shape. They cleaned up everything perfectly when they were done. I chose Melendez Tree Service after I saw they were Yelp verified, and they gave me one of the best quotes, was communicative, and they were a service for trees specifically (vs. many others who primarily do landscape). After we scheduled service, the crew came to cut down one fan palm tree, ground the stump down (as if the tree was never there!), and trimmed/skinned 3 of my queen palms. Now I know why Melendez Tree Service has 130 5-star reviews. Luis answered our request for a quote via Yelp very promptly. He was the last of 3 quotes we ended up receiving in person, but while showing him the project, we felt confident he understood what our end goals were and could do the job correctly. We needed a large ash tree and small citrus tree removed, plus a few other stumps ground down so that we can eventually put a retaining wall and other landscaping. It was important that the contractor chosen understood we needed as much of the surface roots and full stumps gone so we weren't dealing with this later down the road. His team showed up at 7am to get everything going and they were done with the entire project by lunch. It was neat to watch them complete the work! Luis runs a great team, and everything was fully cleaned up when they left. They even blew all the leaves that had already been on the ground from the tree.
