The crew is very friendly and did a great job with my three citrus trees. I was quoted a little low so I added some $ cos we had trouble doing an in person estimate, forcing Andres to quote based on photos I sent. They let my parents pick lots of oranges (super sweet) from the trimmed branches before they were ground up. The crew helped set aside the fruit filled branches. I've used another tree business for many years and I must confess, I was mortified that this pandemic situation had such a profound effect on his ability to do business. He no longer could find a reliable tree climber for trees over 30 feet tall. So I needed to go hunting, and quickly. I had two main concerns - proper pruning for tree health, beauty, and longevity, and serious concerns over the seasonal, heavy winds. November is the time of year where Santana (some call it Santa Ana) winds can literally rip a tree apart if not properly maintained. My neighbor was a God-send. He had done a bit of sleuthing and found Reg's rave reviews. He had promptly employed their crew for his big tree. Lucky me, I had the benefit of seeing them in action, seeing the end results, and having a pretty good idea of what their price point would be for my job, without spending a red cent. It made it easy to give them a call. Andres, supervisor, arrived promptly both times, once to give me a bid, then secondly to supervise his crew of 4 men a few days later. I had two very large trees that required skilled climbers, as well as three smaller trees that needed shaping. It was quite impressive watching them work as a team, taking approximately 3 1/2! hours total from start to finish. They had a chipper, and left my yard very neat and clean afterwards. These guys are real-life heroes. Reg and Gilberto showed up on Thanksgiving Day to attempt a cat rescue in 25 mile per hour winds. My cat was stuck in the tallest tree on my property - a cruel, 50 foot monster of branches and thorns. They first tried to scale the tree without cutting any branches - this proved impossible due to the density of the branches and thorns that chewed through gardening gloves. As the sky darkened and the winds roared, they made one final attempt. This time Gilberto would saw the branches as he climbed. We shone lights up as Gilberto began his daring ascent: there clung brave Gilberto in the tempest, climbing when the wind ceased, hanging on when the tree swung like an inverted pendulum. I'm sure that without the winds they could have rescued my cat. They considered several options such as cutting a part of the tree and using ropes and nets, but all of the options endangered them or the cat. The safest option would be to wait for the winds to calm down so they could climb up and grab the cat. So they resolved to be there as early as possible the next morning and pray for less wind. I put a mattress outside under the tree and spent all night looking up as the wind whipped the tree like an arcade joystick. Each disconsolate meow that escaped the tree broke my heart. I looked up at the violent night: the tree, the wind, and the distant stars and it seemed almost as if two of the stars were caught in the stormy center of the tree's convulsions. And I realized those two stars were not stars at all, but the shining eyes of my poor little cat, pleading for my help. Out of desperation, my brother began to play guitar beneath the base of the tree. He played his song while my cat cried his meows and it was as this strange and desperate song went on that something miraculous happened: my cat began to come down. With the thorny branches gone, my cat was able to make his way down the trunk of the tree like a vertical tight rope walker. Within seconds he was back in our arms. Reg and Gilberto did not ask for any compensation which speaks volumes of their generosity and honesty (I did give them a little reward and am so thankful for their efforts). Reg's Tree Service really went above and beyond and made my cat their priority. I am so thankful for their effort and for answering the call when no one else would. If they showed such dedication and effort in the most trying of times, I'm sure they'll have no problem tackling your tree trimming jobs! Epilogue: My cat, Twix, came down cold and scared, but is doing better every hour and eating heartily. We are thankful to have Twix back with us, but saddened to have trimmed the tree and will be planting a new tree soon. read more

Andres Marquez gave an estimate to removes 10 trees but only removed 8. He stated on the contract that they would repair anything they damaged as the trees were near the pool. They broke several main valves with drip line connectors. While the crew was able to repair several drip lines, they were unable to the main valves. His crew manager signed the contract that it needed to be repaired. I reached out to a sprinkler contractor after a week of 100 degree temperatures and no contact from Andres about repairing the main valve. The sprinkler was system was repaired and I asked the sprinkler contractor asked Andres to pay his portion. Andres asked me to pay his portion and he would put a check in the mail to me the next day. I left town, thinking I could trust Andres but I could not. I returned two and a half weeks later to discover no check. When I tried to call him, he would not answer the phone. I sent him a text, he never responded. He totally ghosted me. We are talking about $75, not thousands of dollars. So now, I have to sue him and he will not have to pay court cost and attorney fees. They did good work, but if they cause any damage, they will not repair it. read more
