One of the best HK style chachanteng in NYC. Food is good and the wall decor (HK movie posters) is nice. Staff is friendly (at least to a fellow HKer).

Pretty legit hk cafe, I was pleasantly surprised. A bit dim and tables aren't that comfy but the decor makes it quite HK vibes especially seeing crates of glass bottled soda once you walk in. The food is decent for SI (limited choices) compared to other boroughs, a bit pricier but their quality seems decent. Their lemon tea and HK milk tea is pretty authentic. I've tried both dining in and take out and both takes quite some time, I think this is a small business and they're a bit low on staff, expect a bit of a wait or order in advance. Shared parking is available at the back of the restaurant!

Finally a real Hong Kong style cafe in Staten Island. Their HK style milk tea is the best in NYC. I LOVE their main course/main dishes: Golden salted ginger chicken, Kyoto pork chop, Fresh pineapple sweet and sour spare ribs, fish filet with fried tofu in brown sauce. I would also suggest their appetizers: Salted egg yolk chicken wings, salt & pepper chicken wings, fish balls, pig skin and radish in curry sauce; pan fried oysters; Hong Kong style French toast. Well, you'll need to make many trips to try them all lol

Baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce, Hong Kong style French toast and Hong Kong milk tea

A friend recommend HKS kitchen to us and I came for a quick lunch with my family on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 12:30pm and got seated right away. We ordered the baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce, satay beef with cheesy Raman, satay beef bun and Hong Kong style lava French toast. The baked pork chop rice was flavorful with egg fried rice at the bottom. They used a very nice piece of pork chop which was juicy and tender with minimal fat (I've had some where almost half of the pork chop is a chunk of fat where there's nothing much to eat unless you just like to eat a solid piece of fat). The satay beef cheesy noodles tasted very similar to the ones I've had in Hong Kong. The cheese wasn't too overpowering where you'll feel very heavy after eating it. The satay sauce has a very aromatic peanut flavor which balanced very well with mixed with the cheesy sauce. The Ramen was perfectly cooked to al dente. The Hong Kong style French toast was everyone's favorite. The thickness of the toast was perfect with edge was still crispy when it came out and soft on the inside. There was an explosion of flavors from the savory salted egg yolk paste on the inside and the sweet condensed milk and butter on the outside. The flavors and texture of this dish were very well balanced and executed. Finally, I ordered a Hong Kong style milk tea to try and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It was smooth and had a very strong tea flavor with their own house tea blend. I ordered it hot so was able to add the sugar according to my liking. It's definitely a legit cup of milk tea. Overall, the food was solid and I found it even better than a lot of Hong Kong style cafes in Manhattan. The staffs were friendly and attentive and service was fast. We all enjoyed the food and can't wait to go back again to try other items they have to offer.

Fried fish ball with Curry sauce , a banger definitely recommend this. It bring back that street vibe flavors but would love it if it had a bit more curry touch to it and more fishball. Rating: 7/10 Club sandwich is good love it, classic a bit messy to eat but would recommend. Nothing too special but a stable food to go for as appetizers. Rating: 7/10 Chicken Wing with salt and pepper. It's classic and done right but presentation and flavor can use a bit help Rating: 7/10 Spaghetti Pork Chop w/ white sauce. This one is great dish, well baked and the flavor again can use a bit of more but otherwise classic and good. VERY CREAMY ++ Rating: 7.5/10 Black Pepper beef with rice. The flavor is there overall not bad dish and pretty fulfilling. Rating: 7/10 The food flavor can use a bit more help on this side, BUT if you order many other appetizers and food together then the flavor balances out eventually but still a highly recommend place for dine in to eat. It brings back home food memeories OVERALL RATING: 7/10 (HIGHLY RECOMMEND)

Had this place booked marked for a while since I love my hk food. Came around 3pm and it wasn't busy there was plenty of street parking available. I loved that they play the old school hk songs I grew up listening to. The staff was friendly although they don't bring you water or tea upon seating, their borscht and hk milk tea was on point. I ordered the fish filet with corn over rice and I thought it was just okay, I normally get this baked near my house for $11 and their menu was a little confusing and I think the price for it baked might have been $16-$20 which I couldn't justify. My friend ordered baked curry beef brisket and he enjoyed it, I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese curry and it was a tad bit thick for my liking. I would come back but work not purposely come to the island for this.

My first meal from Staten Island. A friend gave them a good review. Thought to give them a try. They deliver to the pick up spots in Queens and Long Island on Saturdays; but will door to door with a minimum of $100. My math obvious isn't too good: thought it was over $100 (ok forgot to count my fingers ...) I would have ordered two fish balls were I calculated. But they're kind enough to do it. Their food is above average. If it's not this far, I probably will go or order again. The fishball is my fave. The meat dishes are good but I didn't have much appetite - when I placed the order, I just got out of the swimming pool, done my 1,000 yard, can eat a whole pig at that movement. The free red bean soup is good, not sweet at all, which is great to my taste. I asked if it comes with rice , the gent said no but graciously offered a free container. I declined, but thanked him. The ordering process was easy and smooth.

My favorite HK cafe in NYC. Their HK milk tea & Lemon tea are amazing. Their food is good too. Price is reasonable.

I eyed the low star rating with some trepidation, because many of the criticism was coming from Cantonese people who know what they're talking about and as far as I could tell, judging the place plainly and not on an unreasonably strict curve. Perhaps because my expectations were level set and because the 3 items I had were decent, my normally critical self is going to round up what I would consider a 3.5 star experience to 4 stars. My partner and I biked here on our fancy bikes that we didn't feel comfortable locking outside, and they very kindly allowed us to keep our bikes in the front area. Some tables were occupied, but it was pretty chill on the Saturday afternoon I visited so this might be why they were so relaxed about it. We got the horlick french toast, rice noodles with fish balls, and HK milk tea. It's true that I'm used to Manhattan and north Brooklyn prices but wow things were shockingly cheap on this menu. I didn't expect the best food but the horlick french toast and HK milk tea were particularly good. I think the fish balls and noodles tasted like they were either rehydrated or defrosted and absolutely not made fresh, but again I think this dish was like 5 or 6 bucks? So I'm fine with a little reheated noodle action. What I really came here was for the ambience, and even the haters in the reviews can't deny this place is cute. If I were here with a group I would love to sit in one of their plush booths. They didn't rush us at all and didn't mind me walking around taking dozens of videos. I'd recommend a visit!

I really enjoyed the combination of crispy rice, yummy cheesiness, well seasoned pork chop, and boldly flavorful pepper sauce, which had a bit of a kick. I just wanted the pork chop to be grilled and a little more tender. Black Sesame Lava Toast was quite tasty. It was nicely crunchy, buttery, oozing with a bit of irresistibly sweet and nutty black sesame. I would have liked even more black sesame though. Service was good. The waiter was friendly and everything came out in a timely manner. Prices were very reasonable. I ended up paying with Venmo. The tom yum seafood with rice noodles was the star dish of the afternoon -- sweet, flavorful, and packed with a generous amount of seafood. Keep in mind this dish is only available on weekends. I'd come back a third time just for the tom yum soup. Service was good and the staff were attentive. Note: you order and pay at the register, and the waitress brings the food to your table.

Decent HK-style cafe in the Bensonhurst neighborhood! Came as a party of 5 on a Sunday afternoon…read moreand waited ~10 min for an available table. Extensive menu, but my friends came several times before, so we knew what the good dishes were here: - Curry Fishball Cherng Fun: Warm, soft, and fresh! This curbed our initial hunger and was a good starter for the table. - A + B Breakfast Combo Orders: Both combos come with a milk tea and egg sandwich, along with the main dish (Macaroni Soup or Tomato Beef Mac Soup). Filling for one person and a great value! - HK Chow Mein: Classic, solid noodle dish. One of my faves to have, no complaints. - Beef Chow Fun: Another classic noodle dish. Good flavor and great portion! Plenty of dishes here from breakfast combos to lunch and dinner dishes. Food is decent! This spot is on the smaller end, so expect to wait a bit during peak times. Would revisit for a home-y meal!

It is rich in body and smooth in texture. However, the aroma of the tea was slight covered by the milk choice. Typically, HK milk tea usually comes with evaporated milks or condensed milk by request. Using regular milk will covered the aroma of the tea and pushed the texture to a smoother but lost its taste of the traditional HK Milk Tea favor. This is still good for a regular craving though. I also tried this French Toast with Cream of Mushroom. The French Toast in HK should be paired with Syrup and butter with jam/peanut butter within the toast. This one at Like Cafe was fusion with Cream of Mushroom and cheese inside the toast. It made this devilish afternoon tea item a savory meal itself. It's amazing. I cannot stop saying "CS" (Crazy in Cantonese) after trying the first bite. I recommend to try it with Iced Tea with lemon if you are a small eater. Overall, This is an awesome cafe you can try when you come to Brooklyn. Thanks for satisfying my Hong Kongers Stomach. Burn Apetito Calvin

Come here after breakfast (their busiest time and brunch), you'd find yourself in joy without the crowds. This is a very local Hong Kong style breakfast/brunch (hidden) spot that's been tucked away on the corner and it is a Chinatown stables for a really long time. Also, they are very ethical, the local newspaper had it that every summer/winter the boss closes the restaurant for a month and gives their employees a month off. They do the most authentic HK styled rice noodles, fried rice, macaroni, and spaghetti, which were a fusion because of the long history of British colony. The HK milk tea is another one of those most authentic cup that you can get in NYC. They are generally really fast with their service and the prices have been very reasonable for years. So much love for this local business and I hope they'll be here for many more years to come.

I also tried the scallion pancakes and a Lychee, Apple, and Rose Tea, though I didn't get pictures of those. The dry pepper chicken was AMAZING. You can really taste the heat from the peppers, and the chicken itself was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The dumplings tasted fresh and were packed with flavor, especially the chili oil dumplings. The pan fried veggie dumplings had a great texture, and the scallion pancakes paired really well with the sauce. My drink was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just refreshing. The place itself is small but sized just right, with enough tables to feel comfortable without being crowded. I liked that we could order through a kiosk, and the food came out quick and fresh. Service overall was efficient and smooth, and the vibe was really nice for a casual meal with friends. Since it's nearby, I will 100% be coming back. Highly recommend if you're craving flavorful, spicy dishes!

We had 夫妻肺片, and it was very bland to my taste.. it was not spicy or numbing, or flavorful as I would like... 回锅肉 (double sautéed pork belly) was not bad. My family members had the clear beef noodle soup and Dan Dan noodle which I didn't tried but they said it was okay. Kids had pork belly bun and they liked it. I would definitely come back and try other dishes on the menu just because the people there were really nice and welcoming.
