Holy Schnitzel was a solid option for a Kosher Lunch on Staten Island. Service was a bit rough, like many other businesses they may be struggling to recruit employees. My guest and I waited approx 10 minutes to order from the counter. The food was good, chicken sandwich was by far the star while the hummus was ok. The falafel sandwich while chock full it was missing some vinegar veggies, spice etc. I expect to pay more for Kosher but the prices are a bit out of line. I will likely give them another chance because I have a orthodox employee and there are limited Kosher options on Staten Island. read more

Very good food! I didn't order from this place for years because the way things were handled by the previous owner and the food quality at this venue. But under this new ownership (few years I heard) the food is really terrific and the menu was revamped and priced appropriately! I ate the Shawarma and it was an explosion of great flavors with fresh ingredients in a crunchy baguette,. My wife ordered their shinitzel sandwich and was delicious too. My kid got their tenders with fries - - - again, everything very fresh! The only negative thing about the experience was the delivery. We waited 1:20 min to get our food and we live just 8 blocks from the restaurant! It's a real problem here. read more

I was certainly excited to try this place with some friends. I was not familiar with their food and follow a kosher diet, so believe me how excited I was seeing a menu where I could enjoy bacon. Sadly, that's where it ends. For one, the menus need to be updated. They have a sign that says prices on the menu are not reflective of what they truly are. So they can make a sign but not a new menu? How hard is it to print a new menu and laminate it? I ordered The Holy Double, and waited about an hour for my food to come and it never arrived. One of my friends received his falafel wrap in minutes and it looked good. Another friend ordered a rice bowl that didn't come until I asked where is our food. 20 minutes pass.I ask where is mine and they said "it'll be right out". 20 minutes pass. I ask again and they ask me what kind of sandwich I want (even though it says on the device "The Holy Double"), and they bring me the wrong one entirely. I return it, then later ask again. They point to my alleged sandwich as it was being made (it was not my sandwich). I ask once more and a worker says once again "it'll be right out". People that came into this restaurant later than me were getting their food faster. At this point I requested my refund. How long does it take to make a sandwich? The food seems really good so I will come back in the future to ACTUALLY try some. Until then, please get your act together! read more

The reason I came here is because my mother is annoying picky & kosher. My father also claimed that they've had food here before & it was flavorful. However, today would be one of the greatest upsets since the stolen election of 2020. I placed an order for what should be staple food items. Shnitzle, shawarma & israeli salad to name a few. The Shnitzle: quite thin, cooked fine & decently sized. Seasoning apparently wasn't available today. No salt, pepper, paprika used. The Israeli salad : no salt whatsoever & was essentially some tomatoes & cucumbers. The chicken shawarma: came on an Italian hero. I swear, even though I'm not supposed to according to religion, but it came on a fricken Italian hero. Guess that's Staten Island for you. Also ordered some "popcorn chicken" which was more like tasteless rubber. As described by my spouse. The "Kung Fu chicken" was absolutely a kick in the face. They likely used paprika for coloring but there was no flavor again. I had to get salt, pepper, garlic powder & mix it up. I was able to use my tv culinary skills from watching Geordan Ramsey yell at enough people to add just the right amount to make it take palatable & not get verbally degraded by my family members. The chicken fingers were by far the best item today but also no flavor. Thankfully the bbq sauce saved the day, although I specifically asked for honey bbq sauce. So, we got (2) fries, (2) popcorn chicken, (2) shawarmas, (2) israeli salads, (1) chicken fingers & (1) king fu chicken for a total with tax of 125 horrible spend dollars. I'm sorry, I don't mind supporting local businesses over fast food chains and big box stores, but I they should hire whoever they used to have or train someone to properly season the food. I will never order from here again. The 5 of us could have went to Angelina's kitchen for the same amount minus drinks and at least myself would have been satisfied. Sadly, my spouse is going heat me complain about this horrific experience for 3-4 days. As fir the owners, I apologize, but also don't feel too bad about my honest review. If you want to clearly read a menu and know what the food prices are, this place isn't for you. Menu had prices and lunch specials listed and we were there on a weekday 11-3. Ordered a lunch special sandwich, 2 shwarma rice bowls and a create your own salad with Brisket. We expected to pay the prices on the menu, and the waiter/manager did not inform us any prices would be different. The check came and the lunch special of 15.99 was 22.99, and the salad with toppings should have been 20.24 but we were charged 22.49. Normally pointing this out to a waiter would get an apology and quick correction but we were given explanations such as: 1) the menu says "prices subject to change anytime" (from the time we ordered to the time we paid?) 2) the computer has new prices (but your menu doesn't, nor does it have a note. And the waiter did not inform us about the price change). 3) kosher food is expensive (of course, but you still expect to pay price on menu) Eventually the waiter/manager called another manager and he agreed to refund $4, which makes no sense since we were overcharged more than that. So I am here for the second time in a month. Not much has changed. The food is ok. A change from cooking at home. The problem is two fold. Eating here is nit very appealing. One expects when you sit at a table it should at least be clean. This is a very little ask. Sticky, crumbs and no one attempted to clean. The place looks very tired. The onion rings were nice and thick, but the breading/batter was falling off each ring. By the end I had a pile of fried breading/batter. Flavor was pretty good, but poor execution. The best thing I got was the Holy Toasty. I wouldn't call the chicken "crispy," but the charred bread certainly fit in that category. I've been to this place a few times and always have a satisfactory experience! I've only tried their wraps (falafel wrap and spring wrap) and they are delicious. They're also very accommodating if you need any modifications. I'm not Jewish but I was attracted to this place because of the healthy food options and the vegan/vegetarian options. It's rare to find a place in this island that can offer that. I will definitely come back. (My review is actually 4.5 stars. I'd add the other half if they had more vegetarian/vegan options. First of all let me say the food here is delicious, the fries are some of the best I've had in my life. There are so many sauces to choose from and the variety of sandwich/ wrap/salad combos is unreal. BUT I have to say the schnitzel is not tasty. It's often hard to bite through, rubbery and flavorless. Sometimes I forget to order my sandwiches without the schnitzel, and perform tabletop surgery to remove it. For the food I just had from here, it doesn't even deserve 1 star. This is the first time I've eaten from here. Uber eats rated it 4.6 overall and the menu sounded good so I went for it. I ordered the tony special sandwich and a side of the mix of 3 types of fries. The fries were the better of the 2 but that isn't saying much because they were awful. The fries were mushy, soggy and just didn't taste good at all. The sandwich is another story. The sandwich was wrapped in 2 sheets of cooking paper, both of which were so soaked from the sandwich that the paper ripped as soon as I tried to pick up the sandwich. The sandwich itself was unbelievably soggy, I could barely pick up the sandwich but that was mainly because the bread wrap wasn't wrapped at all so as soon as I started to pick up the sandwich it completely fell apart. I still attempted to eat it because I was starving. The onions and peppers were incredibly mushy and the chicken was awful. It's difficult to cook someone as simple as chicken, onions and peppers bad but this was beyond disappointing. Never eating from here again. read more

If you like spicy their "Tony Special" is one of a kind and if you want something without heat and delicious try their "Big Sister" not spicy.. My kids love their popcorn chicken and sliders. I originally ate here and left a review 3 years ago. It was a pretty bad review and we'll deserved imo. I had honestly sworn the place off and didn't intend to return, but today I was with my mother and we were looking for something to eat. We went to the new place, "Mustard", but unfortunately they have no seating for elderly, or handicapped, so we left. After eliminating a couple of other places, I reluctantly agreed to go back to Holy Schnitzel... Wow! The place looked great compared to last time we were there. Clean walls, no dust piled up, thoughtful lighting, front of house not stacked up with boxes/storage, and almost all the employees were wearing branded t-shirts. It was amazing how much better it was. I ordered a hero called "the champ" and it was truly delicious. My mother had shawarma and was very pleased. Ironically, the sweet potato fries that we liked a lot last time were not great this time. Well prepared, but no flavor. The above said, kudos to management and the team working there. Holy schnitzel!! What a great place!! Great decor very clean.. When walking in you have a great young lady who greets you with a smile!! She was so sweet and helpful. She explains everything and made some great suggestions.. I went with the holy schnitzel hero its thin chicken breast fried in a breading with lettuce tomato and fried onions on a baguette. I also ordered hummus and falafel platter. She told me everything was made in house. It took a while but everything is made to order. Well when i got home it was worth the wait, the food was so good the schnitzel was still crisp the falafel was moist an the hummus comes with pita and it was hot it went so well with it. Sure, I can go to a deli and get a sandwich at half the price, but coming from LA where sandwiches are $10-15, the price is very reasonable for what you get and it's delicious! I ordered a healthy salad delight with chicken. This salad costs $17. You would think that paying this much for a salad you would get a fresh salad. However this was not the case... I was horrified when I opened my salad to find the avocado was black. How do you charge $17 for a salad and put rotten ingredients in it??!! I was in disbelief. I was on the way to pick up my two children from school so I could not turn around and go back to the store, so I called in instead. Their reaction was even worse than finding black avocado in your expensive salad. The boy who picked up tried his best, however it was the manager/owner who shocked me the most. His solution ? " give me your address and we will send you fresh avocado." What?! He wanted me to pick out the disgusting avocado and wipe off the lettuce and chicken that was mixed and smashed up with the spoiled avocado? I was almost speechless. He had a temper and was yelling at me that I was making him lose money because I wasn't bringing the salad back. I explained I had no time. He continued saying that he could of sold it to someone else and that he is losing money if he refunded my money. That too me is a indicator that this place doesn't care about costumer satisfaction or health. This has been the hot spot for me and my co workers to get lunch during the pandemic. They have the best chicken sandwiches, and their sides and starters are so good as well. They deliver pretty fast and their portions are HUGE!! I often find myself only eating half of a sandwich and saving the rest for later. I got their fries and onion rings before and both can easily be split between two people. I never had a meal from here and left hungry. The only downside is that they do mess up orders sometimes. I will say when they have messed up and gave me something else I was still happy because whatever they gave me was also delicious.
