I have only been to one Shake Shack before today when I was invited to the grand opening of the Shake Shack in Hudson Yards Mall in midtown Manhattan. Just have to start by saying 5 Stars!! They are located in a free standing building right outside the mall by the parking lot. I'm not a big red meat eater although the burger I had today was one of the best ever!! It was juicy, a burst of a flame broiled taste in every bite, filling and even though I had the double could have eaten two. The fries were great too, and the Dragon fly lemonade hit the spot. They have a great selection of burgers, chicken, fries, shakes, and drinks. They really think of the customer and every member of their team I encountered was great and engaged with the customers. There was an easy automated system to place and customize your order and the staff will bring it to your table for you. I highly recommend them and I'm not sure why they only have an average score of 3.7. I think there is a choice for people of any age. read more

I'm a regular orderer for that location but the staff that was on duty on 3/26/25 in the evening needs to work on their service skills. We had multiple missing items missing in a delivery (drinks/ice cream scoop) then ordered delivery again only for one of the drinks to still be missing! Plus, look at the food that did arrive...we had 3 hot dogs that were all burnt like the one pictured. To the owners: Get your quality control back on track. First of all, I don't usually review chains. But I thought this was such a nice experience I had to. Upon arriving, I ordered our burgers. There wasn't a line, so i took my time determining what to get. One of the burgers I ordered was the Shake Stack. That really was the bomb. It was delicious! It is basically a burger deluxe with a breaded and fried portobello on top. How can you go wrong with that? Totally recommended! Fries with bacon bits and cheese whiz was great too! Most of the Shake Shacks I go to, as with any chains usually suffer from some sort of incompetence one way or another. But this time everyone was kind, friendly and polite. Not only was the person at the register nice, but we had the food sent to us at the table. After that another lady came to check on us and asked if we wanted a doggy bowl with water for our pup! A nice spot right in the mall plaza to grab a quick meal. I like how there is outside dining for a few tables and it's perfect for a summer day. I came with my friend during lunchtime at around 12:30pm on a Tuesday and we got a table outside without any wait. We both got a shroom burger with cheese fries to share and it was delicious! Their summer mocktails that we got were way too sour and we were disappointed, would not recommend. Customer service was great though, as they bring the food out to your table if you dine there. This is the worst shake shack I have ever been to. The service is super slow, took 25 for 2 burgers and a shake. My table was filthy, so I had to clean it myself. They do have a cleaner, but instead of cleaning he is bringing food to the table wearing the same dirty gloves he uses to clean the garage, bathroom and tables. When we first saw Shake Shake, we couldn't believe that's finally it's happening here! All the mall is so nicely reconstructed so, when we came today, we were thinking that we in California. Also, when we came, it was empty at register, and then, after like 5 min, it was huge line (super lucky). We super enjoyed bacon fries and try finally bacon burger - the taste was incredible good. What we disliked, is hot dog which was sloppy and nothing special also and we wait to get our order for extra 7 min because of him;( so probably will never order him again. Absolutely horrible customer service. I came here with my partner and ordered on the kiosk. The order went through and we chose a table number 40. We waited about 30 minutes for our order, we went to the counter and asked about the order and they said they had no record of it under the name we used. ( we submitted a name and phone number AND chose a table #) We waited for the manager Isaac for about 15 more minutes to help us with this issue. He mentioned he would find the order, disappeared for 10 minutes. He came back and said there is no record of the order, asked if it could be under a different name and I said no. He says "we have no record of the order in our system or on here, that's why I asked you if it was under a different name." And he walked away without assisting further, considering our order was never recorded, nor notified us if the order did not go through. There was no further effort to help with the issue - Isaac just turned around and walked away. Terrible customer service, find a better manager. read more

I try to come here once a month now to curb my burger cravings. In the last few orders I had, has been lettuce wrapped double burger with cheese, pickles, cherry peppers and sauce on the side. When it first opened last year, I went with two friends and it was crowded on a Friday night during winter time. We ordered burgers and French fries. . They made sure gluten free bun burger for one of the friend were separated from regular burgers and I found it impressive. Considering I was new to gluten free stuff at the time. We all enjoyed the burgers and the French fries were hard so we just threw them out. Just be mindful, the French fries are not gluten free due to its being cooked into the same oil with everything else. I've never been to a Shake Shack I haven't loved. In fact no trip to the NY area is complete without a visit. Looking to kill some time before check in at our Brooklyn Airbnb we went to the Staten Island Mall. A mall that several years ago we had spent a lot of time at. Fast forward to 2019 and it's been a few years since our last visit. Imagine my surprise when I discovered they now have a Shake Shack!!! Sure beats having to go out of my way to visit one by the stadium in Brooklyn! And just like the other locations it didn't disappoint. The burgers were juicy on the inside with just enough crisp on the outside edges to give it texture dimension. Oh and that sauce.....words can't describe how much I love that sauce. Like I mentioned before if I could shoot it in my veins I would. The sauce completes the burger, and also is a great dip for fries. I always order several extra cups of it. This location had a nice outside dining area that was covered, along with outdoor mall tables that were not. There was indoor dining as well although limited. It was clean and the staff friendly. There was a bit of a mix up with our order, and we ended up getting four orders of fries instead of two which they insist we keep. In trying to "fix" the charges they also removed the double burger hubby ordered off the bill but gave it to us anyway - score! An area I could see improved is the bathroom situation. Two unisex bathrooms are present and the day of our visit a line had developed. However the bathroom was large enough to accommodate one or two stalls, doubling and even tripling the number of patrons it could serve at one time. It felt like a waste of space and a design fail, especially with the number of customers that frequent. It's only been a few days and I'm already in burger withdrawal - when is someone going to open a location in my neck of the woods?!? read more

Shake shack may serve what's known to be fast food but it's always been in a class of its own when it comes to that category. This visit I decided to try the "dragon glass" shake to buy in to the Game of Thrones fever. The shake came in what seemed to be a collectible cup but was not very good quality, but the shake itself was delicious. There's not much "value" in their menu as my burger, fries, and shake came to about $23 but quality is always abundant in their food. This location is currently still very busy, we arrived literally minutes before noon and the line was already at the door. Once 12 hit, it was out the door. The location itself is nice, they have cornhole outside for nice days to play. My only complaint is they need more seating, definitely for the amount of customers they get! The cashier who took our order was very nice and knowledgeable about the food. Told her what I normally like and she was able to help me get exactly what I would like there! However the orders are not done by who came first as I was the last of my friends to order and got my food 3 minutes before everyone else. The food itself was very good. Thank god we've finally got a Shake Shack on Staten Island! Food is exactly how it is at other locations, quality burgers and fries but you're paying the NYC-premium for them. They've been changing up the menu with new stuff lately which is nice, the BBQ grilled chicken sandwich was great! The line sitch at this location in particular is a little questionable, if there were more than 8 or so people in line it would stretch out the door which is a bad look and would also suck if it isn't nice out, this could use some rethinking. Service was more pleasant than at others I've been to, but the wait time was just as long as you'd expect at other locations elsewhere.
