Hands down THEEEE BEST diner on this side of town! I have been here a few times at different times of the day on different days of the week and can say the food is always consistent! Very clean very fast very good service. On today's visit I ordered the ultimate warrior it's 3 scrambled eggs with cheese and a sausage patty in between two waffles. So good the waffle "bun" was so soft and just the right amount of sweet you could put syrup on top or ketchup inside or both either way it's good and it's going to hit everytime . My husband ordered Philly cheesesteak omelette with home fries comes with your choice of toast . It's pretty much a Philly cheesesteak with eggs if you like peppers and onions it's good ! The home fries was seasoned very well BUT a little on the cold side. We also shared carrot cake pancakes. It sounds CRAZY but they were good . They have a crazy selection of pancakes try them all they are very good. ! I also had a Greek frap it's like an iced coffee but not . Hello, I had breakfast at the Staten Island Diner on Tuesday with a friend and was pleasantly surprised. It was a comfortable and clean restaurant. The service was excellent and the waiter was smiling and friendly. The food was reasonably priced and it was fresh! My French toast with strawberries was not only a beautifully designed site, but it was delicious. No complaints here, I was able to have my coffee and catch up with a good friend. There were no interruptions and we stayed for a good hour and a half feeling very comfortable. There is a small counter where you can sit and enjoy a meal or a cup of coffee. Don't worry, they will make you feel like part of the family! I will certainly be back!! read more

After watching my alma mater, Norfolk State University, take a tough loss to Wagner College in football, I was in need of a pick-me-up. I decided to stop at Staten Island Diner and ordered the Apple Crumb Pancakes. The pancakes were solid, fluffy, lightly dusted with powdered sugar, and definitely hit the spot. One of the smaller diners I've been but there is the feeling of actually eating at someone's house. The food here is on point. The portion sizes are large and the price is similar to other diners. Had to be in Staten Island last week for an appointment. We found this place nearby. Decided to give it a try. Cute little diner with very nice menus selection and very good service. Been coming here for years. The only decent diner on the island but May think twice about returning. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Barriers between booths were dirty, as well as our table. Even one of our waters-we had to switch out. Not sure why it was so cloudy and dirt but you can see the difference between the two glasses pictured. Waiter was MIA. Had to ask other servers for napkins and silverware etc. Not sure if this was his first day on the job but these were customary requests. Also had to get up to pay the bill because once again-our server couldn't be found. There's a short Hispanic guy that's always around and eager to assist. Hes consistently amazing. This is a small place but i feel like the quality is lacking now. Food is average and the space is crowded. This isn't new but there really isn't a reason to return. read more

Hands down the best diner I have ever been to. Everything - service, ambience, the friendly waitstaff, the food, coffee, king sized mimosas, EVERYTHING was amazing. The portions are huge and filling, the ingredients fresh and prepared well. The coffee is hot and exactly what you want from a diner. If I had to criticize anything, it would be the parking situation (there's 3 spots out front - that's it). Just be prepared for that, but otherwise this spot is it. Come for the menu, leave with a happy belly! This place is located in a small shopping strip with limited parking on a main road. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seats available for dining. The staff is on point and quite personable. The menu is going to make you hungrier than you are and you'll be quite pleased with any selection you choose. I was super impressed by the Nutella Peanut Butter Banana pancakes. They were packed with flavor and one of the most fluffiest pancakes I've ever had... moist and not dried out or overcooked. The food selection is large. The menu is four pages front and back. They have 4 different mimosa all for $12. I've been here before and my food was good. This review was based on a new years 1pm sit down. I sat down and waited for my food for 20 minutes. I had to ask for utensils. The place was very busy, so I understood. The waitress brought my mimosa early so that was good. The waiter brought my waffles w/o the Nutella and bananas, so I asked them to please take it back and return what I requested. My waiter was very nice. The waiter brought out burnt bacon, I asked that they take it back and bring out bacon that wasn't burnt. My turkey sausage tasted over cooked. The Nutella waffle and bananas were soo good. Today experience was different then my other experience at this spot but I would give it another chance. They were busy. read more

I have not come across many diners in recent years that have a family history in their business and make you feel welcome as a family from the minute you walk in and get seated. Thanks to Aki, the owner of Staten Island Diner, we did not just enjoy it once on Saturday, but came back again on Sunday, and with only two days in Staten Island with our family, I wouldn't miss coming back the second time. As we came in as a table of 5, got seated by smiling faces and upbeat servers and it did not take long for Aki to come over and introduce himself. We told him my wife and I were here visiting our children from out of town, and did not hesitate to hand me the famous coffee mug with his profile picture on it to take home, and insisted we take a picture together with the mug. Keep in mind, this place was packed and he took the time to spend talking to us, even explaining the history of how his place in the deli business came to be, as his grandfather started another deli on the Island years ago. Getting to the meat of this place is the menu choices and the food. My choice in any breakfast place is Avocado Toast and Over Medium eggs. Instead of putting the egg over the Avocado and toast, they serve it with fresh chunks of the Avocado over the eggs, all on top of the toast. I ordered the Turkey Sausage on the side and the server put a large portion of 5 meaty sausages on the table. Wow, what a treat. Not too stingy on their portions, in fact quite generous. There is no way that we were going to pass up the PB&J French Toast; 2 pieces of French Toast turned into a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich, topped with powdered sugar, and they served a 4 sandwich portion. Of course, enough for all of us to share. INCREDIBLE. Have to recommend this dish with anything else ordered. This was a real treat. My belief is that if I go to any restaurant, and the food is average, but I have fun and feel welcomed, I come back. At Staten Island Diner, the food is EXCELLENT and we were so welcomed and had a great time too. Thank you Aki for making our trip to Staten Island that much better by starting out our day here. The scrambled eggs need seasoning, the Canadian bacon was dry but flavorful, the toast was dry, the home fries needed seasoning and were a bit soggy, The nutella banana pancakes were ok but not beyond anything that can easily be made at home. Don't bother ordering from this restaurant. They failed to give sour cream for my quesadilla and failed to give me tzatziki sauce for my gyro. This happens I understand. My issue is when I called and let them know of the problem they basically told me too bad. They said "we won't deliver just sauces to you and that I would have to make a purchase in order to get them". I actually thought he was joking. Customer service is horrendous!
