There's a lot of social media hype about Andrew's having one of the best pastrami sandwiches in Staten so of course I had to try it. All pastrami I eat is judged by Katz ' which sets the bar. This was thinner but amazing tasting never the less, soft and melted in your mouth. The sandwich comes in under $20 which is amazing compared to Katz' $32. On my few trips to Staten Island I've enjoyed getting the good old fashioned diner experience at Andrew's diner. Even though both times were very packed and busy we had 0 wait on walking in. Food is standard diner sized proportions.. which to me is I can't finish it all in one sitting. The first time I got waffles with a side of turkey sausage and scrambled eggs. Waffles were crispy on the outside and perfectly fluffy and soft inside. I got a side of sugar free syrup on request, which was nice that they were able to accommodate that. One of the other times I got a pastrami omelette which was gargantuan. Easily could have fed 3 people, if you consider the side of home fries it came with. Whenever I'm back in SI will definitely try to make it in for a breakfast sitting at Andrew's Diner. read more

We sat down at 1. It's 1:14 and the server came. Not terrible. She knew the menu when we asked her questions. I ordered the onion soup and the gyro platter and my guest had the tuna. The soup was very good 9 out of 10 and the gyro platter was plenty good. My guest said the tuna salad was awesome and only had half, it was so big. I took a cannoli home and it was good. I'm glad we found this diner. The owner came over with a bit of olive oil and suggested some for my side Greek salad. Friendly service and staff. All in all pretty reasonable 60 with tip. read more

Andrew's Diner in Staten Island on Hylan Blvd has the WORST service EVER! I arrived 10 minutes before opening. I sat down and the waitress brought me coffee. I had asked for milk and she brought me half & half. So i got up to ask for milk and she tells me with an attitude that they open at 8am. I apologized and said i wasn't aware. I sat back down and waited patiently for the waitress. Well! She had the nerve to take someone else's order when i arrived first! Since she had already served me coffee, i left $3 for THE COFFEE, NOT HER TIP, and I left! NOT ONLY IS THE SERVICE TERRIBLE BUT SO WAS THE ATTITUDE! I'll NEVER go back there again! read more

Tonight was my 2nd time at Andrew's Diner, my 4 year old has been asking to go back for the "super nice lady" waitress named Tara! We honestly couldn't ask for better service, and someone who really knew everything to do to make dining out with two young children (ages 3&4) easier! Wish you encountered more people like her! The food is delicious, we had a Greek wrap with amazing Tzatziki sauce, Italian wrap and the kids loved their chicken tenders and fries. Over due for this review; my family & I have been loyal customers since Andrews opened... my dad Artie aka "the Gip" & Artie Junior love this family owned business .... We don't care want you order over here they never disappoint !!! My personal favorite is their mixed grill when it's on the menu..... Tonight me & the wife went with the seafood & chicken paella served in your own personal Lil pot !!! Very tasty, clams, mussels, shrimp & lobster & Scallops cooked to perfection!!! My brother went with their unbelievable looking boneless ribeye steak !! I tried it it was delicious!!! My sister went with their mussels fra diavolo over linguine which was delicious also tasted that !!! My other brother went with the meatloaf which he enjoyed very much ... also looked awesome !! My daughter went with the philly cheese steak & onion hero .... my kid loved it as well !!! My family and I have been going to Andrew's and ordering for years. The last few orders, have been totally wrong. Tonight, we ordered and got something completely different. We didn't want the food they sent and just wanted a refund. The manager/owner came on the phone and was SOOOOO RUDE!!! They are actually coming back to pick up panini that we didn't order so please be careful ordering, you never know where your food is actually coming from!! They just lost great customers. Last time I went for lunch with a friend of mine and we both had the pastrami and 1 onion rings and 2 sodas and an order of cole slaw. They charged us for refills and $ 10 dollars for an order of cole slaw!! Ridiculous!!! The bill was $65 with the tip!!! I asked why do they charge for refills and the waitress said all the places are doing that after covid. I go to Mike's on hylan and arden and they never charge me for a refill!!! Ordered the Pastrami on Rye and it was lean, a decent sized portion and reasonably priced compared to NYC and NJ. Waitress was pleasant, owner stoped at the table and asked how was our order. Place was clean including the restroom. Ordered French fries and Onion rings. Complimentary pickles and coleslaw included. Whenever I go there I order chicken noodle soup or rice, it depends what the soup of the day is! The chicken noodle soup/rice is made with noodles or rice, broth, carrots, celery and chicken. This soup is the best soup you will ever have in your whole life! The last time I went there I tried something different. I ordered buffalo wings, which I normally don't. It was a little spicy but not too spicy, the perfect flavor your craving for. I have been ordering at this restaurant for 3 years now. It is one of the best dinners that I have been to. My mother's grave is on Staten Island and the last time I visited her grave this past Christmas, I stopped at Andrew's diner because I was hungry. I'll admit that I am not a diner lover because the food tends to be okay not great. I ordered a roast beef plate and strawberry shortcake. The portions are large however the roast beef had a lot of fat and the strawberry shortcake had strawberry filling and no strawberries. Had a great burger at Andrews Diner today! The big surprise was how the fries had a nice crunchy outside and moist inside. Also, following Covid-19 guidelines, checking temperature of everyone entering and they even give you a bottle of hand sanitizer on your table. you can see it in the picture.
