We just moved to NYC in January, so today's visit was our first. We couldn't decide on lunch, until we passed this place! The Italian gentleman at the counter was a gem to talk to and interact with--service was top notch! And he's a hoot to cut up with! Now to the food...OMFG! My husband and I shared the meatball hero and mozzarella sticks, and I'm SO glad we shared! LOL The sandwich was huge, flavor was exceptional, and the owner was such a sweetheart! We saved a little room and tried Italian Ice for the first time--I'M OBSESSED!!!! We will definitely return to try other things, and cannot recommend this place enough!!! read more

Restaurant quality food in a park. Honestly, the pictures don't do the food justice. Super delicious and juicy sausage and pepper. The grilled chicken wrap is phenomenal and has had me coming back. The mozzarella sticks, and fries in particular, are also top tier and I would definitely recommend them. The Italian ices are also well worth it and are served in generous portions. Went here for a single burger and a bottle of water. They charged me over $15. Had to wait 20 minutes for the burger but then it was served on a moldy bun. The manager replaced the bun with a fresh one and gave me a refund. The prices here are far too high. Snug Harbor should be ashamed of themselves for having a place like this that is outrageously expensive to their visitors. read more

We were excited to have a food option at the Escape Light show at Snugg Harbor. Harbor eats is open until 5:30, so most light goers may miss it. (There is food inside, but more expensive). Anyway, we had a hot dog, a hot dog with chili and cheese, a grilled chicken, a burger with cheese, and a hot cocoa. Everything was pretty good, much like a food stand at your local baseball diamond. I think the grilled chicken may have been the weakest, as there were a few little chicken tenders leaving bits with no chicken. But the bites tasted good. Also, the chipotle may was surprisingly spicy. (I liked that.) My daughter loved the burger and hot dogs were enjoyed all around. Nice chilly night for some hot cocoa. Service was extremely friendly, even during a rush. Price was reasonable for the situation. I think you'll be happy with reasonable expectations! read more

When you drive to snug harbor, the roads leading to this garden/park is not exactly modern looking or appear safe. It kind of leans towards the sketchy side. So if you are exploring the park, this is actually not a bad place to eat. Snug harbor actually looks fine, doesn't appear sketchy and there are quite a number of visitors, not packed. Was here on a weekend and decided to eat here because my friend said they will eat here too, better than venturing outside to find a place. I wouldn't advise it if you are not familiar with Staten Island. I only know the Staten Island mall and that is about it. Harbor eats is sort of like a large stand (kind of like a food truck) in the middle of a park with seating outside. They have quite a number of choices, tacos, burgers, chicken nuggets etc. not totally all "fast food". We tried the mahi tacos and it met expectations, not dry and actually tasty. Chicken nuggets and fries were standard. If you don't want to spend time going outside to find another place to eat, this ain't a bad spot. Prices are ok. read more

The lady was apologizing cause the food might take a little longer because her partner was running late and she was by herself. I had the grilled portobello sandwich with provolone cheese topped with sautéed peppers and onions and they put a balsamic glaze on it which hits the spot!!! I had heard there was a food stand at Snug Harbor with all fresh veggies grown on premises and local ingredients. I don't think that's true after eating here. It's a tiny little snack shack like one at a little ballfield or park. Nothing wrong with that just not what I thought it was. The 2 ladies working the day of the Art Fence Show were working very hard in a small space feeding a bunch of hungry tourists and starving artists. We ordered the -Chicken Taco $8. It was one crunchy Taco that was overfilled, just not very good I really didn't like the shell. After one bite I brought it to the counter told them my disappointment and asked if they would give me a -caesar salad (which was $7) instead. They said yes and were sorry we didn't enjoy the taco. They handled the situation nicely, which I appreciate. We also ordered -cheese fries $5. There really wasn't any cheese but the crinkle fries were very very tasty and I ate more then usual. If you catch this place on a great weather day when they are not slammed it's a nice place to eat outside. We had a beautiful breeze at our table so we didn't mind waiting awhile for our food. It is definitely over priced but most snack shacks usually are. Might be expensive for large families with kids but it's a great place for them to run around and play while you enjoy the scenery. read more

What an amazing little suprise. I had 2 fish tacos (i should habe had just 1) that are truly a meal. A really good meal that was cooked with LOVE. Oh and I also had the chipotle grilled corn. Absolutely satisfying. The big difference about this place is they really care about what they are making and in every bite I felt like whoever was cooking wanted me to sense the love and flavor that was put into the meal. Like the way I cook for my kids. If Im in staten Island.... Id actually go out of my way to have lunch here. So happy to see this place being run properly. I just ate the portabello sandwich and it was fantastic. They have a great varied menu (fish tacos, burgers, salads, snacks) and the price is good. Obviously, in snug harbor the environment is fantastic. I hope they last. My only suggestion would be to lower the volume on the radio and maybe use internet radio so there's no commercials or talking. It's so pretty here we don't need to hear loud music.
