A chain that boasts that they have the #1 cheesesteak in the world is something to be weary of, because as a place with a lot of locations that aren't in Philadelphia, it's simply a VERY bold claim. That being said, Charley's may very well have some of the best cheesesteaks in the world at a VERY good value. You can get a giant (the largest size is about a foot+ long) cheesesteak for $10, and is filled up enough to keep you full for the rest of the day. They offer both chicken and beef steaks, with pretty unique options like a pepperoni, "California" toppings, and what I ordered, bacon and jalepeños. The bread, even while being toasted, is soft and delicious. On the side, they offer fries and the usual fountain drinks. The fries are alright, but they offer loaded fries with bacon and ranch that are absolutely delicious. Don't look at the calories. In terms of seating, this location is in the Staten Island mall food court, so there is a LOT of seating even at the most busy times of the day.

Charley's is a cheesesteak and sandwich chain that you find in a lot of malls, and they've been a fixture in both the old and new versions of the Staten Island Mall food court. They've got a bunch of different sandwiches on the menu, and my favorites are the chicken philly (with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, and provolone) and the turkey cheddar melt. While I may not agree with the chain's proclamation that they are the #1 cheesesteak in the world, the sandwiches are solid, and the prices are a good deal. Hard to beat $5.49 for a small chicken philly and fries. Even when there's a line, they move pretty quickly, and I appreciate that they're one of the quickest options in the food court.

Run of the mill Mall food court stand. This is one of the oldest if not the oldest one here. If grungy it's not a Philly cheesesteak but it's better then Charley's and it's probably the best of the court ,not like it has much competition. The price isn't bad but the it's not much meat. The ratio bread to meat is way off. I always ask them to only use half the bread but they never know what I mean so o have to order extra meat and cheese just to make the sandwich work. It's something I grab maybe once a year or so. But it still is much better then the other cheesteak stand in the court.

    Ultimate fries and strawberry lemonade.

Fast, friendly, good service. Place looked clean. Depending what you get it can be cheap or expensive- a large sandwich, large drink, and ultimate fries came to $15.00. Bur you could get a regular sandwich with a combo meal for under $10. Sandwich tasted good. Ultimate fries are okay. Good place for lunch.

Cooked right in front of you while you wait. Pretty quick and seems good. Cooked hibachi style. Tasted great! Bread was a bit to hard.. Might be outdated. Or just not my norm. I would buy more in the future of it was in a wrap or something. But overall the meat was good.. And everything else I added. Will come back!

I'm surprised I had to add this business to yelp! I can't believe nobody had ever thought to add it. This is my go to place when I'm at the mall and hungry for a good meal. The cheesesteak is delicious, the bread is always fresh and the fries are fresh cut and homemade. It's one of the few places that has a city and its name that actually lives up to the original item from that city. That certainly isn't the case with "New York" named bagel places in Florida.

Sides of creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The creamed spinach is veryyyy creamy, I almost wish there was more spinach but I can't complain because I love the cream. Mashed potatoes were tasty too. For dessert we got the hazelnut gelato. It had an ever so slight crunch to it which was SO GOOD. The only thing that I would love to see is a more robust wine selection. The server was attentive and made sure to ask if everything was okay several times throughout our visit. Happy I found this place, will be back again.

No bother, the lady upfront was nothing but kind. As we were seated, we were immediately taken care of. They give sour dough bread and butter to start, it was very good. I really liked my NY strip steak, it was well seasoned and fatty which was also good. I asked for a medium rare steak and they delivered as requested! As for their garlic bread, it's done on Italian bread and I absolutely loved it. A bit overdone on the baking, but delicious regardless. The burger was larger than I expected, and came with a crab cake too. Would definitely come again for their cuts of meat! What stood out to me the most was my kind server. Since I loved the sour dough and butter so much I asked for some to go. She then later came back with a whole loaf for me to take home!! I think her name was Darcy- she was so kind and I really appreciated the gesture. It's service like that which would bring customers to dine in more often, as I will for sure. Only issue at the end was the choice of payment being apple-pay. One server claimed they didn't take it, and Darcy corrected this and helped us to pay. Clear clarification would be greatly appreciated among all employees, rather than being told 2 different things. Great food, selective service, loved their interior design, and their bathroom was very well kept up as well.

It almost feels like a place you stumble into in a small town from a hallmark movie. It's a spot with locals enjoying dinner or solo men having a drink at the bar. To start, the table got some complimentary rustic bread with a maple butter. The bread was good, but wished the butter was more soft. It was all crumbly and hard to smear onto the bread. For the meal, we ordered the Porterhouse Steak for 2 ($115) and a side of Lobster Mac & Cheese ($24). The steak was presented beautifully on a plate all sliced up for you. There was a nice seared crust, which gave it a nice amount of saltiness that it didn't need sauce with this. I was quite impressed with the mac and cheese, which could be a main dish all by itself from the portion size. The macaroni is cheesy and velvety while being loaded with lobster. I loved the chunks of lobster pieces in this, which is well worth the upgrade. Overall, a nice spot on Staten Island with an old school vibe. The steaks are as pricey as Manhattan steakhouses though, but good for locals not wanting to make the trek. Check out their weekday specials for better deals though.

For appetizers, we got zucchini chips, fried calamari and mussels. The calamari was fried too hard and it had a very salty, spicy Chilean type sauce over it. The zucchini chips were thinly sliced, lightly battered with Parmesan cheese sprinkled over them. They were decent but nothing to write home about. In fact, after having about six or seven of the zucchini chips I began to experience heartburn from the grease. For entrees, my husband had the chicken parm. He said it was too thick and should have been flattened more before frying. It was also very breaded. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken and waffles and he said the chicken tasted day old so after having a bite of one piece of the chicken he pushed the chicken aside and called it a day. I called the waiter over and informed him about the chicken tasting day old. He didn't try to change it out or take it off the bill or get a manager. He just apologized by saying I'm sorry. My crab Mac and Cheese was decent. It wasn't seasoned the way I would have liked but the huge, plentiful chunks of crab made up for that. I ate a third of my dish and packed the rest for home where I will doctor it up to my taste. I've never been to this particular restaurant before. The only reason we came today is because my brother-in-law was here on business and staying at a hotel in the area.

Now onto the main topic, the food: This is by far one of the better middle eastern/seafood restaurant in all of Staten Island! The appetizers that were amazing were the chargrilled octopus, which is a MUST-GET, and the half dozen oysters which was by far one of the sweetest oysters we ever had (it was so good we ordered 3 orders!) The tuna tartare, calamari, and lobster bisque were all decent but nothing too special. For entree, the lobster pasta was perhaps one of the best tomato based pasta I ever had! Although the amount of lobster in the dish was on the smaller amount for its price, the flavor was so savory, sweet, and perfectly tangy, highly recommend it! The sea bass was good according to my family, but the flavor was on the milder side in my opinion; they liked it nonetheless so perhaps it's just a personal preference at this point. The lamb shank I would not get due to how overpowering it was; the sauce was salty and intense, where it overwhelmed every part of the dish. It was unfortunate because the lamb was so tender and had a nice proportion between its meatiness and its fat content. The dry aged steak was only okay too, since the spinach was so watery it soaked the steak in its liquid (as you can see from the photo), which detracted from the dish unfortunately. Overall it was a decent dining experience, where some were amazing and others were less so. It's a pricey dining experience but if you get all the right dishes, it's worth the price tag! Definitely recommend giving Sea Bar a try and I can't wait to come back again one day to give them the five stars I know they can definitely accomplish! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

First red flag Focaccia came out and wasn't focaccia it was a thin crust pizza style very dry very hard not good . We picked at it but definitely didn't finish it . I wanted chicken parmigiana because I mean an authentic Italian restaurant can't mess that up right ? The food came out room temperature To about lukewarm which means the food isn't freshly made.
