The hotel itself was clean, modern and our bed was very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the view from our room and the pool area, which was a nice place to relax! There were several things we really liked about the hotel. The rooms have a contemporary feel, the common areas are attractive and the location is definitely one of the biggest perks. The staff was also friendly and helpful when we brought issues to their attention. That said, there were some frustrations during our stay. Parking is $22 per day plus tax, even though the hotel has its own parking lot. As Marriott Bonvoy cardholders, we feel parking should be waived or at least discounted for members. We also were not allowed to check in even a little early, despite being told that rooms were available. When we got to our room, the blinds were broken. We called maintenance twice to have the issue addressed and eventually we were told they could move us to another room if maintenance couldn't fix as other rooms were available. If another room was available, it was frustrating that we could not have been accommodated with an early check in, even by 30 minutes. Housekeeping was another disappointment. We understand that housekeeping is provided every other day, but when we specifically requested that someone come the following day, they only replaced the towels. The room was not cleaned and the bed was not even made. As Marriott Bonvoy members/cardholders, this was not the level of service we expected. We enjoyed the hotel, especially the location, comfortable bed, cleanliness, views and pool. However, the parking charge, lack of flexibility with early check in, room issue, and limited housekeeping service took away from what could have been an excellent stay. With a little more attention to guest service and member benefits, this hotel could be a much better experience!

My view was of a huge power transfer station and a barge with a crane that was filled with loud machinery and pile drivers. Room was handicapped so the bed and all furniture was only 1.5 feet off the ground. I'm 6'4" so the top of the bed was still below my knees. The bed itself was very uncomfortable and i did not see any bugs but had bites in the morning on my legs, the shower tub floor had cracked peeling paint all over it, electrical outlets come out of the wall when unplugging something, tge tiny microfridge was frozen at the top and we needed to put a towel in it because it would fill with water and for the price you pay you cant even get a danish or piece of toast in the morning only a coffee unless you spend over $18.00. They also charge for water and can't accept cash. Was trying to purchase 2 small bottles of water and a candy bar for over $10.00 and had to use my card because they dont take cash. I moved out the next morning. I went to a Hampton Inn for a lot less, balcony with an ocean view, clean non stinky spacious room with a full free breakfast eggs, bacon, bagels, toast, waffles, milk, coffee, 3 juices, breakfast potatoes cereal you name it.

Most options were either sold out or priced at $800+ per night, so we felt incredibly lucky to find availability at Marker 8 Hotel and Marina for $360/night. The hotel was wonderful. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming. They greeted us with big smiles, provided a map of the town, and even offered restaurant recommendations. The location, though, was definitely the highlight. The hotel sits right next to the bridge that leads directly into downtown. They even have a private gate that opens onto the walkway, making access incredibly convenient. We loved being able to stay in a quiet, uncrowded area while still being just a short walk (1/2 mile) from all the excitement. Parking was also a positive experience. We arrived around 3:30 p.m., and the lot was mostly empty, allowing us to park right in front of our room. By around 8 p.m., the lot did fill up, so guests arriving later may want to be mindful of that. Our room was very clean, and the king bed was super comfy. Some of the furniture, particularly the bathroom shelving, was a bit dated, but everything was well-maintained and spotless, so we had no complaints. One of our favorite features was the beautiful view from the patio. The sunset from our room was breathtaking! Our room faced the marina, so we loved walking out to the pier to see the boats and watch the sea life in the water. The weather was perfect, so we took full advantage of exploring the marina area. Overall, we loved this hotel and would absolutely return. The location could not have been better for enjoying Nights of Lights.

I also sent text messages and emails but received no response. While trying to reach someone, I began reading recent reviews and was concerned to see multiple negative experiences reported by other guests. We had not reviewed them beforehand because we had previously stayed at this bed and breakfast and had a wonderful experience. We later learned that the property had recently been sold. When we arrived at the bed and breakfast, there was no one on site to check us in. We continued calling, texting, and emailing without any response. As a result, we were left without accommodations and had to secure alternative lodging at additional expense and inconvenience. Despite not being provided with the reserved accommodations and receiving no communication from the business, we were still charged for the booking. We are requesting a full refund and an explanation for this situation.

She told us how to get in the room and then left immediately. The inside seating area in the lobby is blocked off so no one can even use it. Our room was marketed as being on the ground floor with a sofa and wing chairs. We're on the second floor, there is no sofa, and there's something I might call a winged stool. We haven't seen any single employee since we arrived. Our bed wasn't made and towels weren't refreshed overnight. Maybe that's okay at a Motel 6 but at $300 a night or more you should absolutely do better. To get in and out of the inn and your room, you have to enter a code on a keypad which works about 20% of the time. We just let some other guests in because their code wouldn't work on the front door. Bottom line, whoever owns and operates this place has absolutely no sense of hospitality. It's not a bed and breakfast. It's not an inn. it would be generous to describe it as a self-service hostel. Go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

I saw good reviews on their site, it was less expensive and available. The woman on the phone was very nice (although a little hard to understand feom language differences). When we arrived, we walked right in and were assisted immediately. The lobby was nice and clean and the agents were wearing masks. They were both very friendly and accommodating with me and a broken heel. After going to the room i was even more surprised. A very nice, clean room with more amenities than i expected for the price. And to top it off, when my wife went to get ice; an employee asked her if she needed anything! Awesome place, awesome service...just plain AWESOME!!

I had to turn it on 62 to make the smell dissipate. It was freezing! It was horrible because the temps were in the 40's and I was fighting a cold. There was no phone in the room. The bathroom was so small, we had to duck between the toilet and shower to open/close the door. The shower was dirty. We were otw out that night during a busy holiday season. We asked the front desk girl where the park and ride area was and she had no idea. The place allows pets. When I walked my girl, there was garbage and dog poop in most areas surrounding the building. When I got in the shower the next morning, the water pressure was horrible and the water, even though turned all the way to the hottest, was lukewarm at best. I took a cold shower! That was enough for me. Our trip was supposed to be through New Year's Day. We spent one night, then decided to cut our trip two days short and head back home to south florida. They offer a $5 a day shuttle that stop services at 10:00pm. Or you can walk to downtown in about 40 min. I highly recommend walking if you're able as traffic during night of lights is crazy! And you just might get there faster walking. Price: We paid roughly $270 total for two nights. Which considering it was during night of lights that's a very affordable and reasonable cost. No complaints there at all. Room: The room itself was basic. It was clean for the most part. They only offer body wash and hand soap. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. My boyfriend said he saw a silverfish bug in the shower that grossed him out. But no other bugs seen. Customer service: We had an incident while staying there. This is a dog friendly inn which is nice, however our neighbors left their two dogs yapping non stop in the room while they went out and enjoyed their vacation. My boyfriend was not feeling well and this was becoming a nuisance. We finally snapped and went downstairs to talk with a worker. We spoke with Dustin who reached out to the occupants of the room and management and then after about 30 min the barking ceased. Initially Dustin was somewhat flustered and seemed annoyed ( I understand people have off days). We went back up to our rooms and later that evening Dustin stopped by to make sure that we were having a better experience. Which we thought was nice. Breakfast: Breakfast is included. You'll get eggs, sausage, an assortment of breads/sweets, coffee, yogurt and they had apples one day. Nothing fancy but if you're traveling on a budget and want to cut costs on food it's not bad. Overall 3/5. It's a decent Inn/ motel for the cost. The reason for a lower star rating is simply because we would have liked to know ahead to request to be in a dog free building. Don't get me wrong, we love dogs and have two of our own but the two dogs yapping for hours on end really changed our experience.
