My husband and I traveled for business to the Doubletree St Augustine 11/2025 for three nights. We brought our service dog as we always do as my husband is an epileptic and she is a trained service animal. The hotel is not kept up well and the front counter staff was disheveled looking at best and rude. Marcia at the front counter was extremely rude to us one evening as we were returning from a walk with our dog. She chastised us for walking through the lobby with the dog and mentioned no dogs allowed in the lobby , mind you as other guests were petting and talking to our dog Her and another front counter person made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable The hotel as a whole is not up to the Doubletree standards we are used to. Employees smoke cigarettes and whatever else in the parking lot in plain view and gossip loudly. I would never recommend. Try the Marriott you can't go wrong ! read more

I typically like to book my hotel stays just outside of the main drag of wherever I visit. The Hilton here is a decent walk from the shopping and eating part of town but definitely walkable if you are in good health. (15-20) It is hot out too don't forget ! Parking in the lot was no problem. Staff - excellent ! Andy at the front desk is a sweetie and Cal in maintenance was nice to me when I had trouble opening the door. (Pull the handle up) Bed super cozy, great pillows. AC works just fine. Coffee maker and fridge in room. Nice amount of space. Shower has various settings on the spray part (always appreciated). The renovations look great and the hotel was relatively clean. We arrived after a 9 hour drive and the check in attended was rude. She realized she was rude and said " it's my Friday" ...The next day was a new day. We were in and out all day and walked right past the customer service clerk about 5 times but she would not know that because her head was buried in her cell phone each time! Unreal! The towels were clean but had holes... we asked to replace them and the replacement towels had holes. There were peanuts on the floor as if they forgot to vacuum. We really enjoyed the location of this Doubletree as it's just about a half a mile from the historic district so it's easy to walk or if you wanna drive it's a quick drive to the area. The rooms are a little bit smaller, but part of that is because of furniture placement. When you first walk in there is a shelf that has the mini fridge on the bottom that is on the exterior portion of the room versus more interior. Because of the walking space to get through the entranceway towards the bed area is very tight. we also found that the vanity in the bathroom is a little bit too long as you were trying to open the door to leave the restroom at the same time. Overall, the room was clean. Staff was friendly, although you could tell that they were training. I often use the app to communicate messages to the Hotel. the first night of our stay, the messages were heavily delayed, but the next day they were more in alignment on timing to what I'm used to with Hilton . read more

Was a 5 star experience the first two nights!!!. Chancy at the bar was lovely and friendly. We ate dinner with her and watched football on the TVs in the bar area. I will return just to be served by her! Our last evening wasn't quite so good. Looked forward to watching Monday Night Football at the bar but Ken was not as accommodating. He didn't want to put the game sound on, but after a few of us asked, he did. However, he had his cell phone jammed into a cocktail shaker playing what was evidently his preference of music. However, it was blaring, poor quality and therefore very annoying. Even if I wasn't watching TV I would be put off by this unprofessional setup. We had a quick two night stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel St. Augustine Historic Area and it was what we expected a DoubleTree to be. The location was pretty centralized, right across the street from the cross and a short walk to the fountain of youth and the historical town center. We checked in the evening so the parking lot was almost filled. It's a self-park only parking lot that's opened to the street, but you are still pay $25/night for parking (which is ridiculous). The spots were oddly shaped so you might have to be patient and try to fit your car in between two large trucks and a generator. They do offer one EV charging spot that was in use by a Tesla when we arrived. It can be a long walk to the check in area from the back of the parking lot so if you have any issues, definitely drop your stuff off first before parking. We checked in and were offered freshly baked cookies as part of the DoubleTree tradition. We were in a standard king with a view overlooking the parking lot, but that was fine since we were only there to sleep. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was firm, but not hard and offered a good nights sleep. The bathroom was dated, but it's a DoubleTree off of Route 1 in Florida. As part of my Hilton Gold status we were offered breakfast in the morning and this is where this DoubleTree really was lacking. The powdered eggs where powdered eggs and there was bacon, but it was sitting in a pot of oil...basically. They had juices and cereal and fresh fruit. Overall, couldn't complaint because it was free, but if you don't have that benefit, then you're better off going somewhere down the street as this was not worth the $17 that they were charging per person. If you come to the hotel with the correct expectations, then you'll leave happy, but if you're coming here for a resort like experience then you're going to be disappointed. read more

Great experience. Hotel is very clean. Special mention needs to go to Tammy the chef in the restaurant. She cooked excellent breakfasts at the buffet. Scrambled eggs were made perfectly and her seasoned potatoes were delicious! She also made pancakes with a hint of cinnamon. Absolutely delicious and moist! Another special mention needs to go to Joseph the server. He was very hospitable and nice. He always checked on you to make sure if you needed anything. Loved this hotel only problem that may keep me from going back is the very slippery tub. I went to get in and slipped and banged my knee. When I finally got in, I was afraid to move. My husband had a similar experience once he got in the tub. I didn't take another shower and luckily I was going home the next day. That's a big deterrent for me to stay there again. I made my reservation for 4 of us to stay in the 2 -Queen room through a 3rd party company. I was shocked to learn at check in that parking costs $24 per night that wasn't included in the reservation cost. And since their parking lot was so limited, we had to park in the gated lot across the street. We had some problem entering the pass code, but finally got it to work. ** DO NOT BOOK THE SUITE** What a lousy weekend! Suite is located in first floor next to the main elevators , the bar and check in area. People are screaming until late in the evening with echoing. During the day all you hear is rolling carts. The pool entrance is right outside your window so all you can hear is the gate slamming. Thank goodness we weren't in pool season. For the one and only suite in the hotel and the extra expense it should be a bit more private. Shower is VERY SLIPPERY! No microwaves, fridge is luke warm and just a little coffee maker that you can only use their coffee. Breakfast and parking are an additional expense. Which they don't explain the parking it just comes off the incidental charge which is $75 per night. Overall is was very underwhelming with all the noise. Be aware that this hotel is more like a dog pound. Dogs barking and preventing a restful vacation. I was one of three customers at the front desk complaining about the barking dogs in several rooms. This is a pretty good location. It's not in the "downtown" tourist district. So, it much less expensive. But it isn't so far that you can't walk down. And there are some interesting shops along the way. And it's close to Our Lady of La Leche and Farmhand Kitchen, a great cafe at the other end of the street. Breakfast was very "Hampton Inn"-esque. So we opted to eat elsewhere most mornings. It was worth getting up early and rushing down to. The staff were friendly--from Frances who checked us in to the guy who ran their breakfast kitchen and the other various folk we bumped into during our week this past June. I liked the large window that let light into the room. I only wish there was something to look at besides the parking lot, pool, and not-so-attractive building next door. read more

Where can I start. The room is plain, the halls are closed and the help behind the front desk is mediocre at best. The beds are hard the pillows are feathers. We came here for our anniversary and it turned out to be during the lights opening and downtown was busy but manageable. Breakfast buffet is the same each day, and the baked goods are purchased once per week. Over the three day stay here the baked muffins had proven my theory. I am not sure as a diamond member of Hilton your expectations will be met, I find it very hard to imagine why I am still an active member. Covid excuses are over, but you don't get daily housekeeping, coffee is really week and you can't get hot water for tea unless you as for it. Very dirty hotel. I mean like mildew in the shower, literally gravel and dirt in the bathroom, and months of dust on the baseboards dirty. I am giving them two stars because they didn't have bedbugs and the location is ok. They are about a 20-30 min walk to downtown and they Have some limited parking on site with two electric vehicle charging stations. The area around is a little scary if you're a single woman walking by yourself. They have a nice bar area and restaurant but the hotel is so dirty I was too scared to eat there. I stayed here with points, but honestly I would rather work overtime and pay cash to stay closer downtown in a much cleaner place. It was so gross I would not even stay in another DoubleTree anywhere. The staff was lovely and I assume it's so dirty because they are short staffed and upper level management is not supporting housekeeping. Hilton needs to do better. Very nice hotel and conveniently located. We were able to walk to downtown with no problems. The staff at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, LOVED the pillows. The water was hot. The only complaints I have are the outrageous parking fee per night ($22 per night), the fact that you will only get your room cleaned if you request it 24 hours in advance (which we weren't told upon check in) and the smelly water. Good hotel located in between Historic district and "old town" area. Our family of four stayed here for a week while visiting at Augustine. We were able to walk to various places from here. Free parking. There is a lounge area and restaurant in the lobby. We did not use /visit these areas. The breakfast seemed a little high for our family. McDonalds and Dunkin' Donuts are really (walkable) close by. They have a little market area that we got drinks (water, apple juice, soda) and snacks from. There is also a convenience store a few blocks away. The hotel has one washer and dryer in good shape. We travel light and do laundry on our "down day" The pool and hot tub are great. They are open from dawn to dusk and provide towels. Front desk staff was nice. read more

Things I don't necessarily love: Parking is $24 a night, there is no complimentary breakfast and there is no microwave in the room. To me, that is a standard item that should be in every room in every hotel. That seems to be a pattern in Hilton hotels. For what you are charged daily, I think parking should be free. There was a decent amount of parking and was a short walk to the City Gates and downtowns area. There is a free city shuttle that will pick you up and take you where you'd like to go as well. There's a bar in the lobby plus a few different spots a block or so away if you want to grab a bite/drink. Plenty of amenities to make sure you are satisfied. DoubleTree by Hilton located in Saint Augustine, FL near Ripley's Believe It Or Not. I visited St. Augustine, but needed a place to stay for the next day. Entering the parking lot was a bit small & crowded. Upon entering; I was greeted by Maggie (LOVE THIS GIRL). Maggie not only helped be, but we shared 2 things in common close to my hometown & we LOVE Flagler College great to meet an Alumni too. I told her it was my birthday; she gave me FREE complimentary chocolate chip cookies, and covered my parking fee ($18) which is very sweet of her. I got the King Accessible Room #220 on Level 2. Love the layout of the room, yet noticed a stain on the ottoman chair by window. Not a big problem to me, but might be to other people who may want to sit there. Bathtub came in handy after a long day, and lots of walking too. Room does include coffee/tea station, water bottles, & a fridge. There is NO microwaves. On each side of the bed there is electric plug ins on alarm clock, lamp, & side table including wall input/USB. Now; I did compare this hotel to the Hamptons I stayed at down south, and here is what I have to say: * DoubleTree by Hilton's had better hygiene soap, shampoo, & conditioner than Hampton's BUT Hampton's always has a sign in their bathrooms that IF you need womens/mens razors, soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc that you can ask for it; I did not see Hilton's doing that * King Bed; OOOO this made me uncomfortable compared to Hampton's. The pillows are hard as a rock made my neck stiff; I prefer soft-medium. There is only a sheet, and heavy thick comforter blanket that I had to kick off. * AC; I set it to 70 it wasn't cold like Hampton's or my house does. * Hilton's DOES NOT have free complimentary breakfast. If you want there breakfast you MUST pay through the on-site restaurant $15 for continental breakfast OR $17 for hot buffet; I suggest going to a Dennys or iHop or a mom & pop shop you save more money by getting more food. (DISCLAIMER) I did enjoy my stay until I learned about the breakfast part. I wish Hilton's would included free complimentary breakfast as most hotels do that nowadays plus I was bummed out that I had to quickly find a place to eat so I wouldn't starve/get hangry. read more

SUPER nice staff. Room was very clean, bathroom was also clean. Housekeeping does a great job. Hotel was quiet, no issues at all. The only complaint, and my reasoning for deducting a star, the AirConditioner does a HORRIBLE job at maintaining low humidity in the rooms. While it was cool and maintained the temperature, the humidity was well in the 65-70% range. That is way too high. I tried to turn the fan speed to low/auto but that didn't help. Other guests had the same issue. Overall, the price was high at $200/night..it was about a 6 block walk to downtown..the room really should have been in the $130-$150/night range. Great clean hotel located just north of the Ripley's Museum. The room was clean and comfortable. We also utilized the gym. It was clean and had great equipment. Although the restaurant in the lobby was closed, they had live music in the lounge area in the evening. Alcoholic beverages and appetizers were for purchase as well. It's about a brisk 10 minute walk south to St. George Street. And if you plan on using the Old Towne Trolley they pick up with a shuttle at the hotel and take you stop 1 to purchase tickets or activate online tickets. Otherwise it's about a 15-20 minute walk north. Parking was $15/day but you pay for parking anywhere near the historic city. We just left our car at the hotel and used the trolley or walked. The hotel is close to lots of food options and even a scooter rental. My favorite thing about Doubletree by Hilton is the warm COOKIES! Don't forget to ask for them! read more

Hotel is convenient to historic downtown and the fort approx a 15 minute casual walk. Self parking is $22 plus tax per day. The parking spots are narrow. The parking lot had one charging station. I recommend eating breakfast somewhere else. I have status that provided a $30 a day food credit and at $15 continental and $17 for hot breakfast - their are better and fresher food options. read more

These reviews don't seem to be real. First they do not have balcony's and you are a good 15min walk from the good stuff. The room smelled like old rug and the bathroom has beige wall paper. Enjoyed our 3 day stay here, from Maggie and Tip on the front desk to Josh in the dining room and the whole supporting staff. It speaks to management there and great training. The breakfast bar offers a full buffet of options, as well as made to order eggs. But to be honest the cookies are always my highlight. Everyone of these people get an A++++ rating. Hotel is clean. Room is clean. Everything was perfect. The parking lot can fill up and if it does... no worries.... they have a convenient overflow lot. They are ready to assist with tickets... directions.... and are just plain helpful and that is high in my book!
