Beautiful bed & breakfast located on Bayfront in St Augustine. Greeted by wonderful hostess Joy (from the UK) ... efficiently checked in & offered assistance for sightseeing or food. Incredible morning breakfast options. Tasty and filling! It was a full house mid-week! Everyone was practicing safe CDC guidelines as well.

We truly enjoyed our week long stay at the house. Thank you for going above and beyond to make our stay that much more special. We truly enjoyed all the delicious breakfasts , social hour wines & appetizers were absolutely delicious. The guest were all very friendly and were returning guest that have been staying here for years and we could definitely see why. Coming back home after a late night of fun and finding fresh, delicious brownies & cookies waiting for us in the living room was such a sweet added touch. We also enjoyed the mints by the front door which we would grab after breakfast as we took our daily walks around. Thank you Carrie , Justin and everyone at the Bayfront Westcott house. We truly enjoyed our visit and loved Allison's loft. The towels & bed sheets were so soft. Thank you for the daily fresh towels!! We will be back soon again!!!

This is our second time in St. Augustine at a Bed and Breakfast. First time at the Westcott House. We were impressed with all the options for breakfast. You definitely won't be hungry afterwards. They also have a very nice happy hour with cheeses, dips, crackers and a hot appetizer. Beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee, and tea. Great location and the view you never could get tired of. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I was impressed that later in the evening after happy hour I was able to get a glass of wine to enjoy outside on the balcony. Joy and her staff are there to pamper and they do. Look forward to coming back again in Jan and bringing my sister to enjoy this wonderful B & B. Coming back to see the beautiful lights for the season.

Over the weekend we stayed at the Westcott House in Alison's Loft. We found this room in particular to be of appropriate cost for value of room. Several of the other rooms that our family members stayed in were very small for the cost. We were warned several times of the low ceilings. But from the layout of the room they were not a problem. Down fall of the room was to not have a vent system in the room with a large garden tub. After taking a relaxing soak before bed the room stayed very humid for the remainder of each night even with the window A/C unit running. The biggest success of the house is their food. Breakfast was amazing, and the wine and cheese offering looked great as well. Downfall of the stay was that we did not receive housekeeping or fresh towels during our two night stay. I was informed from Joy that this is not the way her inn should operate, but it was the reality we faced. Please note the inn does have an 8 day window from checkin for reservations changes. Due to work challenges we had to shorten our 3 night stay to 2 yet was still charged for the 3rd night.

    Amazing sangria during happy hour.

We just checked it, but I'm positive we'll LOVE our stay. What a great B&B!. Antique decor, breakfast and Happy Hour included. Our room is very clean and the staff is very nice. I felt bad that he had to carry all our heavy luggage upstairs. I'd definitely recommend getting a room on the 2nd floor for the amazing view. Check in during the week off season to get some amazing rates. We booked our room through hotels.com, but checking in through their website would've saved us even more money.

One of the awesome breakfasts we had during our stay.

My wife sooo loved our stay here the end of July. The staff was wonderful, very accommodating, so eager to help with any of our requests. The Anastasia room is within just a few steps from the second floor balcony where you can sit and enjoy views of the Matanzas River. Our room also gave us views of that river. We enjoyed the complimentary evening wine and cheese/hor d'oeuvres the Westcott offers every night. The breakfast that was offered included many options that were quite delicious! Also this location(in addition to great water views)---provides for great access to the shopping/restaurants St Augustine offers, that you can walk to. Now that's important because parking near the Westcott is challenging. And the lot they provide is a few blocks away...it's walkable...but not terribly convenient. With that said...you are in walking distance of so many things, it wasn't a major issue for us. I would NOT let the parking issue keep from staying here. For the primo location, access to historic St Augustine, the service from the friendly staff, water views, beautiful decor and reasonable price....if coming to St Augustine, this is where you want to stay!

Had a great stay here! We booked the Topaz room upstairs for my parents and the Ruby room…read moredownstairs for us as that was the last rooms left. Both rooms were clean and accommodating. Tho the Ruby is on the first floor by the entrance it was quiet at night. After much thought, I would give Carriage Way Inn four stars. Carriage Way Inn does some things…read moreextremely well, some well, and some okay. I did learn this business was recently purchased by a company that owns numerous B&B's up the eastern states; hopefully that won't detract in the future. Upon arrival, a huge benefit is a dedicated parking area around back. Unless you drive a very large truck or largest SUV (e.g. a Suburban or F250) you'll have a spot. You should park and leave your vehicle. Saint Augustine is very walkable and Uber/Lyft are readily available, if necessary. Make no mistake; parking is premium in this town so a dedicated parking lot is a big plus. We arrived a little early but were greeted very warmly. Like most old B&B's, there is no elevator or lift (which we were aware of and is no problem for us). We were shown our room (Tourmaline) on the second floor and all typical questions were answered. The room, bed and bathroom were very comfortable. Great adjustable AC (a must in Florida), small flat screen tv (which we never turned on and neither should you), bathroom with very good shower and pleasant toiletries, comfy bed and good blinds to pull down for sleeping. A big negative to the room is the soundproofing. This room (Tourmaline) is right on the front of the house and it was the last weekend of a motorcycle gathering in not too far off Daytona. So we heard mid life crisis motorcycle riders and nearing elderlies on their horridly loud motorcycles off and on all weekend; both out and about and driving by the B&B. Not much the B&B can do except more soundproofing of the windows. It wasn't just the motorcycles, noise from loud car radios occasionally, too. The noise didn't ruin the weekend but did detract. I brought a white noise machine to help with sleeping and recommend it. The location of the B&B is phenomenal; centrally located and you can walk almost everywhere in downtown Saint Augustine. Importantly, we felt totally safe the entire time we visited. Saint Augustine is a very safe city; especially the tourist, populated and Flagler College areas. The B&B generously offers plenty of beverages downstairs to help yourself to. Water and cans of soda are available at all times. Wine, red and white, is set out to serve yourself in the late afternoon through mid evening. I believe I recall beer and hard seltzer, too. The snacks put out at happy hour were meh; just okay. But there were some deliciously scented fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. However, I've had much, much better snacks and happy hours at B&B's in Savannah, north Georgia and Charleston. The first floor sitting area is comfortable; plenty of small tables for sitting for snacks and breakfast; we never felt cramped. Minor glitch; the downstairs ice machine adjacent to the soda and water was broken most of the weekend. The Staff was apologetic and ice was set out and or provided by the downstairs Staff; but this was a minor annoyance. Of note, the rooms do not have little refrigerators. A nice addition might be an ice machine on the second floor (especially since that's where most of the rooms are located. Okay, now let's talk about the breakfast...We only ate it one morning, of two, because it was straight up lousy. Please know I am in no way a picky eater. The entree eggs were not good and I suspect they were most definitely not fresh cracked but powdered, frozen or premade. The plated side ham was barely eatable; it was extremely tough and salty. A B&B breakfast should be very good, if not memorable. This breakfast was shockingly subpar. Well, the coffee I made in the Keurig was fine and the server lady was pretty nice... In sum, I'm not sure I would stay at Carriage Way Inn again. Our stay was not bad but there are so, so many B&B's in Saint Augustine. Perhaps if Carriage Way radically upgrades the quality of the breakfast offering and sound proofs the rooms we'd return.

I used "reservationdesk.com" (Expedia-?) to make this reservation. The agent PROMISED that we would be on a second floor with a BAYFRONT VIEW. When we arrived at the MARIN HOUSE B&B, there was no waterfront view at all, and we were on the first floor, crammed into a little corner on the property. At check-in, we were basically told that, it's your problem because we used a third-party ("reservationdesk.com"). FINALLY, a week later, we finally got our receipt. Marin House said that they could not even give us a receipt because we went through a third-party. So, one week later, I see that we were charged for three nights, even though we checked out after the first night. ReservationDesk.com said that they contacted Marin House, who told them that since we checked out after the first night, it was against their B&B POLICY, and they are refusing to refund FOR THE TWO NIGHTS THAT WE WERE NOT EVEN THERE!!!!! EVEN THOUGH WE WERE LIED TO ABOUT THE ROOM. Sandy, the owner, got her britches into a big bunch because we were singing, and our choice of language apparently offended the geriatric crowd there....
