RUN! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Disgusting and dirty is putting it mildly. I completely understand that St. Augustine is old but there is a huge difference between old and dirty! Unfortunately we checked into this hotel the day after Christmas. As you can imagine the area was packed and there was nowhere else to go at this point. We were there to meet our children who were checked into a different hotel otherwise I would've left! I didn't want to ruin our few days together so I chose to stay. The thought about sleeping in my car did cross my mind! Let me start by saying when I checked into our room and used the bathroom I noticed a wet shower towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. I brought it to the front desk and the woman at the desk replied, "oh, I didn't even know there were hooks on the back of the bathroom doors. I will speak to the housekeeping staff. " A very strange reply to tell someone who just checked in. I was immediately turned off! The floors were absolutely filthy as you will see from the pictures of my socks. I keep them in my suitcase for when I forget a pair of flip flops to walk around in. Trust me, those floors haven't seen a mop in forever! The dirt and dust on the louvre doors for the closet look like they haven't been cleaned in years! I wasn't about to hang anything up in there. We kept all our belongings in our suitcases zipped closed! It was a big inconvenience. Their so called happy hour left little to be desired and could use much improvement along with their breakfast. The only "good" thing about this hotel is that it is walking distance to everything, but so are all the other hotels! Choose wisely! If I could give this hotel 0 stars I would! It was a disgrace and they should be embarrassed to rip people off charging the prices they do. They have a lot of nerve. It cost us over $1,000 for 3 nights. Everything about this hotel was old. Stayed here for 3 nights during the Christmas holiday. The only thing this hotel is good for is the excellent location. You can easily walk to most attractions and restaurants. The hotel needs to be renovated. Rooms are old, musty and dusty. The carpet was filthy. The rooms, especially the bathroom, are very small. There were no bug issues and the beds were decent. The complementary breakfast needs improvement. Plan on taking food back to your room because breakfast area is tiny. Most of the good reviews are a year or more old. My husband & I booked a stay here for our 15th wedding anniversary. The staff was very nice & we were close enough to the historic district of St. Augustine that we could walk everywhere. The room was clean & a great size. They offer a social hour which I believe starts at 6 PM where you can eat & drink with other people that are staying there as well. The provided breakfast wasn't that great but they do have a few options for you to be able to grab and go if needed. All & all we enjoyed our stay & would stay again. read more

Great staff. Cordial and helpful with great suggestions for beaches and food. We asked for extra towels and pool towels which were promptly provided. Every employee we met was smiling and friendly. Room nicely laid out and very clean. Large and convenient to drive up to. We had a 2 queen beds on first floor, with a large bathroom, mini fridge and 2 comfortable barrel chairs to sit in. The beds were very comfortable, pillows plentiful and towels were soft. The shower/tub was large with lots of room. The A/C worked really well albeit a little loud. Pool very comfortable and we loved the raised deck that overlooked the river. We watched the horses trot by and the pirate ship return from its sea adventure. Great hot breakfast with good choices including our grandsons favorite... blueberry muffins. There's a antipasto happy hour, in the evenings, with cookies, cheeses, assorted meats and crackers. They offer cold water all day in the lobby. Both the breakfast cook and the afternoon hor's d'ouvers attendant were energetic, helpful and extremely friendly. They even made a special effort to help my grandson. This is our new "go-to" place to stay in St. Augustine. I love the fact that there is in/out privileges for parking. The inn is much homier than a hotel. Staff was very friendly and goes over and beyond to be helpful. Room and property is kept clean. It has a scenic view of the water which is beautiful from the balcony. The area is safe and quiet. It's conveniently located near restaurants, shops and attractions. I didn't have to rush to breakfast and hope there was food left. It always well stocked. Finding parking is like hitting the lotto so it was nice to have free parking at the inn. Great location and excellent staff! Stayed here on vacation. It was overlooking the water with a great view and walking distance to everything in the historic area. The rooms were average but there was one guy there that would go above and beyond to make customers happy. They have morning breakfast included. The breakfast ended at 930 and we got there after that time and the guy offered to go back and personally make us some more food. There is a cute little sitting area on stilts overlooking the water with swinging chairs. Will stay here again. read more

I would not recommend staying here, there are many other Inns available in St Augustine. Our first room was ground floor and very musty, my companion who has allergies didn't last 3 minutes before having to vacate with a headache. The alternative 2nd floor room, no elevator, did not have this issue and we stayed. However one of the queen beds squeaked so bad that normal sleep movement kept me awake most of the night, the very noisy A/C unit aggravated this further. The only mirror in the room was over the sink, and the TV was small, 32 inches. The photo posted was the harbor view from our room, the demolition of a restaurant. The road accessing the Inn was closed due to the removal of a historic statue. We were not informed of these activities before arrival. read more

Easy walk to historic district shopping & dining. Loved being able to walk back mid day for a break. Parking lot entrance & exit is 1 car wide plus with a wall so it's a blind spot as you approach from either direction. I have no complaints about the room itself. Not a fan of the chairs sitting outside the rooms. Our neighbors sat outside smoking and talking loudly late which made it hard for us to get to sleep. My husband and daughter were driving from Charlotte to Miami this past Sunday, and made a reservation at Bayfront Inn in St. Augustine to stay the night. They got a flat tire on 95 and pulled off Coosawachie exit. Since it was a Sunday, they were stranded off of 95 for 3 1/2 hours waiting for AAA. I called the hotel to let them know as they were trying to get a replaced tire, too. No garages were open, and it turns out, they couldn't get a replacement tire. They had no transportation & Bayfront hotel in St. Augustine was 3 hours away. I called the hotel back to say they couldn't make it (and shared all circumstances). I also asked to speak to manager. Sasha, the attendant, said she'd call the manager and ask that, given the circumstances of a broken down car and unable to stay the night, would she please consider the extenuating circumstances and not charge us. 2 1/2 hours later, Sasha called back & left a voicemail that said she reached the manager, who basically said tough; she's charging the full amount. read more

Great time at the Bayfront Inn in St. Augustine. Great location with beautiful views and a short walk to all the attractions, shopping, and restaurants. Clean and comfortable rooms. Ample parking. Nice breakfast and evening snack hour. The friendly and accomodating staff just enhances the experience even further. Our chef at breakfast said hello every morning and made sure all of the guests were happy with their meal. Check in and housekeeping staff were all friendly and helpful. We were in Saint Augustine this past weekend for my 30 year high school reunion. I love the area of this hotel, the staff are very very sweet and very nice. They do not have elevators cause it is an older hotel, so if you're handicapped, or have issues going up and down stairs you will need to request to stay on the first floor. The pole is a cute little kidney bean shaped pole with a great view, it's great for people watching the only complaint I have about the hotel is that from walking to the shower to the door my feet were dirty on the bottom this means the floor itself has not been mopped or cleaned. It's a hard wood floor, also, if you have any kind of sugary, anything they do have sugar ants Honestly, I would stay here again but prior to me checking in I would request that they clean my floor. read more

Check in and out was quick and easy. Clean rooms. All the employees were very nice and professional. Breakfasts were very good: eggs, bagels, sausages, biscuits and gravy, fruit, juices, coffee, cereal, and more. Perfect location to walk to everything there is to do in St Augustine. We stayed overnight on our way home from North Carolina. It is quaint, clean and a great location. We had planned on staying again soon for several days, until I noticed a charge on our credit card. I called to inquire that it was for the towels and bath mats that we took. I have never been so insulted in all of my life. We had to check out early because they completely made us feel out of place. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE A LARGE FAMILY. We booked a 2 room suite with 1 master and 2 queen beds and the complaints were unbearable.. Completely ruined our Christmas vacation. Update: I had the displeasure of speaking to the owner of this place "VIRGINIA" I can truly see why the staff is very rude and non-caring. It begins with the owner. Staying a couple nights in a 2 bedroom. One bedroom was cold, the living room was warm the other bedroom was hot. Approx. 10 to 15 degrees different at least. Went to the office multiple times to try and have something done, and they suggested a fan. They already had a fan in the hot room, so they were already aware of the issue, but wouldn't supply another fan which could have at least circulated the cool air from one side to the other. The place is old, and may need some serious AC demotions. The place was clean and we made the best of it, but sweat all night. First time visiting St. Augustine. We choice the Bayfront Inn. The location was good, safe, close to everything, but away from the noise, partyers and speeding/racing cars throughout the town. The staff was friendly, helpful and the breakfast was good! The Inn was well maintained on the outside, nice grounds, Pool & quaint feel of the Inn itself. Our room was ok, the furniture in the room was beat to hell. Especially the bathroom vanity. The furniture in the lobby, tables & chairs were breakfast was served the same, scratched and beat up, from the 80's. The lobby bathroom towel dispenser was broken. The bed was comfortable, loved the Pillows. There were water stains on the ceiling, the floor seemed dirty, there was some sort of paint/film on the Bathroom Window that was old and peeling...I sure someone could have looked through the chipped film/paint as it was peeling off! Our towel bar was broken, being held together by a large screw. It was very quite at night...but the air conditioning unit was going all night. There was no 'DO NOT DISTURB' sign in the room. All in all we enjoyed our stay, but I would make another choice if I had it to do over. NOT worth $500.00 for 2 nights! read more

My family and I stayed at the Bayfront Inn in Saint Augustine Florida from December 26 to December 29, 2021.Rooms were not cleaned, London the desk manager was nasty, and I was charged $10 a day for Covid cleaning or even clean towels which were not done. After being told repeatedly that the manager was unavailable to discuss the charges, I said that I would be reviewing the Bayfront Inn on Yelp and London, the desk manager said there would be no refund because I mentioned yelp and then hung up. When I had first entered my room on the 26th,I noticed there was a dirty rag still present and I returned it to the desk and asked if they could please make sure that cleaning services including towels were done for both rooms the next day. After reminding them several times on the 27th that the rooms had not yet been cleaned and being assured that they would be, they never were. Finally on the 28th we received clean towels and a semi cleaning of the room as the soap dishes as well as the floor were not cleaned.However we were charged for Covid cleaning for three days at $10 a day per room!!When I asked to speak to the manager he was never available. Positive: location, that's it. Negatives: no refrigerator, no safe, dirty stairs, dirty furniture, damaged furniture, dirty doors, for over 300.00 a night, this is unacceptable. Room 213 needs help, gosh, a little paint goes a long way. Outside railings are gross, see all of our images. Breakfast was super slow to fill in. We were told two days in a row, " he's working on it". Really , oh wait, "we had more people than we thought", you'd think? It was sold out on the 4th of July. Doesn't that give you a heads up. We were there and all the time for breakfast no bread was filled in. No fruit on the second day. Left room at 8:00am came back at 2:30pm and to my amazement, our room's door was wide open , why, not enough light in the room, so housekeeping apparently thinks this is ok, for everyone to pass by our room and see all of our items inside, our computers, etc. UNREAL, our room's temperature was 82 degrees inside. She didn't even finish the bathroom because we had come back. Seriously , we were greatly disappointed in this hotel for what we paid, this should have been top notch. Disappointed disappointed disappointed. Management needs to get someone to look at the details that make up an experience. Gosh, go buy some refrigerators so all your rooms have one. They were amazing on helping me to make this a special stay for them. They went out of their way in order to make this a beautiful surprise in their room. I was hesitant to book this hotel based on reviews but was in town for one night for a wedding . This hotel was booked solely due to the location because it was around the corner from the wedding venue. I will be honest. Upon seeing the hotel for the first time, it made me think of a glorified Days Inn. The definitely pros to this Inn are the location and a dedicated parking lot which is complimentary so I will give them that. The hotel room itself is small but has all the necessities you will need. I personally wouldn't stay here longer than one night but that is my personal opinion. Also, don't expect to get any peace and quiet. The walls are paper thin. I could hear children screaming and running outside . And someone peeing upstairs. Grosssssss. Don't be fooled by the website. The beach is across the street. You're not on the beach. My view was the asphalt parking lot. Now for the "highlight" of my stay. After coming back to my room late after attending the wedding, I noticed that there was a gurgling sound coming from the sink. I really didn't think anything of it until I walked over and noticed water coming up from the drain and it kept going and overflowed . I had to race to move all my toiletries and makeup. And the water was murky with brown particles. NOT COOL. Disgusting to be honest. I called the front desk and the poor guy that came out was great. He cleaned up the mess and checked the sink, toilet and bathtub but he wasn't a plumber so I didn't really get any solid answers. Except that they are having plumbing issues and having work done . Which basically infuriates me since this room should never have been booked. And to add insult, they didn't have any vacant rooms to move me to. So I sucked it up and stayed. But was leery about using the sink/toilet, etc for fear that water would come up out of nowhere. The next morning, upon inspection of the shower I noticed hair in there. The attention to detail with cleaning was not up to standards. I met other guests at the wedding who stayed here and had similar stories (thankfully no flooding issues). I think for a hotel where I am paying over $200 a night, this is unacceptable. And to add insult, the poor woman at the front desk could only offer me a $30 credit to my card (plus tax). Yep, not satisfied. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and if you do want to chance it, bring Clorox wipes and don't have high expectations. read more

We weren't impressed & would NOT stay here again. It's not upscale at all (as another reviewer claims). And definitely not as glamorous as the website makes it seem. Cons: - Every room has a view of the parking lot and NOT the waterfront (as the website says). Across the street from the parking lot you can see the water, but you wouldn't want to "sit outside your room & relax" (as a reviewer says), because you'd just be looking at a crummy parking lot. - We stayed in the queen room, which was small, as was the bathroom. - - The room was mostly clean, except for a large white stain on the carpet and some long hairs in the bathroom (Eww)! - The room also had a very strong chlorine smell. - The continental breakfast, although free, is worth skipping. It had dry cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, toast, oj, & coffee. Not even worth it. Wonderful location, good price, nicely refurbed rooms, close to what's happening in St. Augustine. They have a great second floor balcony for sitting and pondering life. I prefer this to the Casa Monica; more casual, simple and exceptionally clean. Good place to meet a stranger on a Harley, who offered to give me a "private tour". Four hours later and lots of info on the history of St. Augustine, this kind gentleman dropped me off at my door. Thank you stranger. Loved the moonlit walk on the beach. read more
