Beautiful view

Great place to stay the views are breathtaking the rooms are clean and the breakfast was great . Close to downtown. Just a walk over the bridge of lions

Lions Bridge and beach area

The rooms are updated and clean. Queens would be better than double beds but they were comfortable. Waterfront [river] rooms have private patios with rocking chairs. Views of the Lions Bridge and river. Clean pool. Quiet neighborhood. Very nice breakfast and social hour included.

Deluxe Single Room w/Balcony

All in all, a very cute, quaint lodge, waterside. I stayed in the Deluxe Single room w/balcony. It was modernly decorated, very bright and airy, which I loved. What I didn't like about it was, it's a suite. And it is the smallest, I mean tiniest suite I have ever seen in my life. It did not have a microwave which I thought was odd. What I did like was the bed. It was very very comfy! Loved the fluffy pillows. I slept like a baby. The bathroom was very modern and updated. I had my own balcony which I loved. Too bad it was freezing when I visited, therefore I didn't get to utilize it too much. I would recommend Edgewater Inn, just be aware of the fact that the rooms, even suites, are quite small.

I struggle with a rating for this hotel. My friend and I arrived, and there were multiple guests in the area where you check in. The front desk person was playing host and serving up hors d'oeuvres and drinks. It was a great atmosphere. We were really happy to be there. Everyone was very friendly, we hung out with the other guests for a bit before checking in. We were very disappointed to see our room faced the parking lot. I didn't even know that might be an option. I'm not sure if it's because we asked for two beds instead of one, but we paid what I believe to be full price like anybody else (pricey) and we had a view of the street. Just misleading for the price. We were able to walk on the other side of the hotel, which is shown in the pictures. It is gorgeous. But you do feel like you're impeding on other people's space. There are chairs right outside their rooms, and you can't exactly take their chairs to sit. One morning I was out there, looking at the jellyfish in the water and checking out the view and an employee accusingly asked me if I was a guest. Assuming I was just there taking photos as a tourist I suppose? I was a little more snappy than I should've been. As a guest I should be happy that they're checking to see if I'm a guest or not, but it makes me irritated that I'm stuck on the other side of the hotel, with one or two other rooms facing the street at full price. I didn't feel like I could linger on the scenic side, again, as it is the area where multiple peoples rooms are. I would stay here again, however, I would make sure I had a proper view for the price I paid. It was convenient to be able to walk across the bridge to where most things are. We are also able to walk to the lighthouse, which is on the same side of the bridge as the hotel. The male who worked at the front desk was great. I didn't catch his name. Very personable with all the guests. He really took pride in his job.

Still a good place to stay. Rick is the front desk guy who I saw last year and it was good to see him again. Sue checked me in and she was a pleasure as well. I recommend paying the extra for a view of the water. Is a bit cold at night around mid February but it would be nice to sit during the day when it's warmer if you see yourself spending some time unwinding during the day

We stayed here in mid November. We stayed in the two-bedroom room with a view of the water. Total price was around $190. Small parking lot, only one car per room is allowed. Extra parking on street for free if needed. They had a social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. which offered wine cheese and crackers and other snacks. Breakfast was served in the main dining room with a view of the water and offered many options including a delicious egg type of quiche without the crust. Rick our host was very nice and offered options about the tours in St. Augustine. The beds in the room were very comfortable. The only thing that the room was missing was a microwave but it did have a refrigerator. This hotel is a 15-minute walk to the main downtown area, and gives you a beautiful view as you walk over the bridge of lions. Parking in the main downtown area is $2.50 an hour. And you can get quite congested on the weekends. So we parked our car at the hotel and walked most of the time. It was too cold to use the pool. We looked at the one bedroom suites and they are very small. However our two bedroom was very large enough for three or four people if needed.

Dirty towel after cleaning a water spill

This could be a hidden gem, however it's a diamond in the rough. Dirty, dingy, and needs updating. The staff were very short and unkind. With that said, they tried to be accommodating in a snide manner. The breakfast was alright but nothing to write home about. If they would simply do deep cleanings once or twice a month they would have a clean hotel. Shutting the pool down at sunset really defies the point of having a pool. The place also needs to have proper maintenance. I tripped on the rotting deck from a large piece of the loose board jutting out. There are a lot of cosmetic issues such as hole in the roof above the deck, stained bed clothes, rusty hardware, doors not being flushed to the frame, lack of caulking in the bathroom, gaps in the molding and just general disrepair. There are no hand rails in the shower and no place to put your soap other than the floor. The shower rod was incorrectly placed in the shower making water get all over the place. I would have given it one star, but the views were spectacular, beds fairly comfortable, great location, and the staff tried to rectify our issues. The biggest problem is the cleanliness. This must be fixed ASAP! A smile from the staff would also improve the overall experience. Last but not least...don stay in the backside rooms. They are not maintained

This is my favorite place to stay at in St. Augustine! The rooms are great, so are the complimentary breakfast and happy hour. But what I love is the view. You look over the Bay and see the Fort, the Churches, the Cross and much of downtown. We park our car then walk across the Lions Bridge and walk to everything!

Pool

The GM at the Bayfront Inn checked on availability here after telling me that they were full. He directed us here and ensured a good rate for us when we arrived. Although it looks aged on the outside, the post-hurricane renovation is spectacular and surprising. More importantly, the service is wonderful. The front desk clerk was friendly, helpful, and even walked us to our room to ensure we were happy. All of this on a night when rooms in St. Augustine were hard to find. In the morning, the breakfast provided, at no charge, was another pleasant surprise. We had a choice of several cooked breakfast items, served to us, with a waterfront view. This place is definitely a gem and we will return.

Room 102

Wow what a view. ! We stayed at the sister hotel last night. Marker 8. Moved over here tonight. We are in room 102. 2 doubles. Best view. Nice size room. Will def come back. Doesn't look like much from outside, give it a chance ! You won't regret it.

Edgewater is even more beautiful than I expected! Rooms are renovated, clean and spacious. I can't overstate how clean this room feels. I'm one of those people who always brings my own blankets to hotels but we actually left them in the car this time because the sheets really look and smell so clean and fresh. The view of the water is gorgeous and there are nice new chairs and table out there to relax on. Most of all, Sue at the front desk was such a lovely lady. She was helpful, genuinely sweet and so friendly. Every business should have a Sue.

This is the best place to stay in St Augustine, we were here last year and Sue was awesome, helping us in many ways. Just checked in and Sue remembered us from last year. The river view can't get any better. We'll definitely be coming back and staying here every year

We visited for the Christmas weekend and we couldn't have been happier! The view over the tiny private beach included the entire display of Christmas lights and the sail boats dotting the river. Sue and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, the room was pristine. My only complaint was the bleed of light into the room at night through the blinds made falling asleep a bit difficult. Overall, a delightful find and we definitely plan to visit and stay at the Edgewater Inn again soon!

This is a less conventional Hilton, and that fits very well within St Augustine, since there's nothing conventional about St Augustine either. We took a walking tour of St Augustine and learned a lot about this history of this hotel - the hotel has done an incredible job making itself look less Hilton-like and more like St Augustine. From the back of the hotel, you can barely tell that it's a hotel at all. In the valet area, they have relics of civil rights history native to St Augustine. As far as the rooms, room 140 is the place to stay. It's got a door that opens right out to the pool deck. It's a spacious room with large TV and a comfortable bed, and a great view of A1A, the horse and carriage rides across the street and the water. The location is right in the center of everything - St Augustine is a very walkable town, and you can get from the southernmost to the northernmost area with this hotel right in the middle. Plenty of restaurants and retailers in the neighborhood. The restaurant at this hotel was wonderful for breakfast - extremely friendly, efficient and internationally diverse staff made our stay appear joy. The lobby is attractive and the renovations they've done show true attention to detail. I look forward to returning next month after all the lights go up, since this hotel generally has some of the best holiday lighting in all of St Augustine. From a wonderful location, beautiful rooms, great service, reasonable pricing and sufficient amenities, this is a five-star experience.

The room was nice and spacious, with odd closets, but they worked for the time we were spending there. They also had robes if we needed to be bougie and prance around. We slept well and had a nice view of the square between the Lightner Mansion and Flagler College. The staff at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. They gave good recommendations on how to get around Saint Augustine, which had been a minute for me, so it was good to get a refresher. Sparkling wine at the front desk when we checked in was excellent and helped us unwind after the drive from South Florida. They have a gym and pool that I believe is accessible through the second floor, so I will have to remember that for our return trip. Also, they have a Starbucks on the lobby floor, which was great to get our morning pick-me-up. The bar and restaurant were very stylish, lots of Spanish influence from the 15th and 16th centuries. The cocktails were also solid. I didn't care for the water pressure and temperature, as they were difficult to adjust and ensure we were getting the correct settings. It was pretty scalding hot, so it took a couple of minutes to get it right, and then I kept it on the setting for my wife since I didn't want her struggling to mess with it. Apart from that, the experience was great. We enjoyed the sparkling wine and the accommodations when we checked in. The valet was good to have, as I didn't want to mess with street parking, but it is more expensive; take note.

The grounds are fabulous with all sorts of gathering areas and a few fire pits that go 24/7. The pool is small but well kept and there is a bar on-site that has unique beers and cocktails. My 3 star rating is primarily because the hotel doesn't really prepare you for what you will or will not be getting. This hotel is old....very old. It's a collection of small houses with 3-4 rooms per house. There is little soundproofing so you hear ALOT between rooms and the outside. There are no elevators so you will walk a lot of stairs.
