However, the hotel did come 3x to fix, each time checking in periodically, and eventually we got a portable AC unit that worked wonders. The entire staff to the manager was so pleasant and accommodating (no rooms, sold out, or they would have moved us). Now on to the good, upon walking in, there is a bar with pizza (late night too!) and tapas. Wowowowow! Hands down the BEST spicy tuna tacos I've ever had - they were delicious, jam-packed, flavorful, and tasted so fresh. My husband got the Magic Beach Pizza called Sunburnt Surfer, which was cheese, pepperoni, and hot honey, spectacular. There is a roof top restuarunt and bar, which we went up for NY, but it was wayyyyy to cold. Location is close to the beach, walkable to the pier, there is a publix conviently across the street (you can walk) as well as other bars and coffee shops. Breakfast is the morning was good, typical eggs, waffles, fruits, oatmeal, etc., staff is super friendly too!

Staff is very nice This was the first time I've ever seen it raucous but a bunch of Navy guys were finishing up some training and all heading back to their respective bases so I understand but wow that lobby was loud and boisterous at 2200on a Thursday night. The lady at the front desk was great; I think her name's Amber. The valets were very pleasant too. I luv this hotel's proximity and easy access to the beach. And luckily the cacophony didn't reach the 4th floor

The Voco was an ideal place to stay. It is a modern boutique hotel and about a 10 minute walk from downtown St. Augustine. Everyone we met on the staff was very friendly and accommodating. I felt ZERO ghostly spirits around and no bad juju, which is hard to find in St. Augustine, honestly. Everything was super clean and crisp-looking. It was quaint and quirky, but I enjoyed that about the hotel. It wasn't your run-of-the-mill hotel. The room came with a big TV, a very cozy bed, and a bigger-than-usual mini fridge, which was AMAZINGGG because we had made a pit stop at Buc-ee's for birthday treats and fun... I am obsessed with IHG's bathroom products. Their shampoo is incredible. And the room was pretty quiet- we didn't hear our neighbors. The bar area looked really tempting. We heard the breakfast there is realllllly good- unfortunately, we didn't have time to hang out at the bar or have breakfast. We did pop into the littleee convenience/shop area for a pint of ice cream which hit the spot after coming home from dinner. There is free covered parking below the hotel (and more parking available outside), which is super convenient. The gym looked nice. I love that they had laundry machines. The ice machine was always fully stocked and working. We had a great stay at Voco and really enjoyed our 3 days there. I highly recommend it and would stay there again.

From the reviews I see it was a la quinta. The lobby was very well done, a spacious bar, nice seating for breakfast. The check in was 10/10 - the hospitality, the dining recommendations, the directions. Honestly we felt like we were staying at a B&B, that's how much care the staff had for getting us settled in. The room, on the other hand, was dated and had an odor but we let the staff know and we were switched out immediately to another. The location was great - we walked into town, over the Bridge and explored all night. We came back over the bridge to dine later on but as long as you have good walking shoes on, you're good to go!

She chastised us for walking through the lobby with the dog and mentioned no dogs allowed in the lobby , mind you as other guests were petting and talking to our dog Her and another front counter person made us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable The hotel as a whole is not up to the Doubletree standards we are used to. This is a less conventional Hilton, and that fits very well within St Augustine, since there's nothing conventional about St Augustine either. We took a walking tour of St Augustine and learned a lot about this history of this hotel - the hotel has done an incredible job making itself look less Hilton-like and more like St Augustine. From the back of the hotel, you can barely tell that it's a hotel at all. In the valet area, they have relics of civil rights history native to St Augustine. As far as the rooms, room 140 is the place to stay. It's got a door that opens right out to the pool deck. It's a spacious room with large TV and a comfortable bed, and a great view of A1A, the horse and carriage rides across the street and the water. The location is right in the center of everything - St Augustine is a very walkable town, and you can get from the southernmost to the northernmost area with this hotel right in the middle. Plenty of restaurants and retailers in the neighborhood. The restaurant at this hotel was wonderful for breakfast - extremely friendly, efficient and internationally diverse staff made our stay appear joy. The lobby is attractive and the renovations they've done show true attention to detail. I look forward to returning next month after all the lights go up, since this hotel generally has some of the best holiday lighting in all of St Augustine. From a wonderful location, beautiful rooms, great service, reasonable pricing and sufficient amenities, this is a five-star experience.

We -- along with six other families -- were left waiting in the lobby for nearly two hours past check-in, with staff unable or unwilling to provide a realistic estimate of when a room would be ready. Simply stating that the hotel was at full occupancy is not an excuse -- it is a failure of planning and management. This situation reflects inefficient and lazy management. Late checkouts were clearly oversold without regard for incoming guests, and there was no urgency, accountability, or proactive communication. Guests were left in limbo while management avoided taking responsibility for the problem they created. For a Courtyard/Marriott property, this level of operational disorganization and disregard for guests is unacceptable. We will not be returning and would caution others to reconsider staying here if timely check-in matters.

When we arrived to our room, I was pretty impressed iwth the size of the room. They had a little kitchnette (small beverage fridge) and table, plus a sitting room with chairs and a couch, and luckily we scored a beach view room. The bedroom was spacious, but will say the pillows were totally flat. I'm talking almost paper thin, but the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a tub and large vanity. When you go onto the grounds, they have a large pool with lounge chairs facing the beach. Prior to the pool there are rocking chairs and couches and fire pits, which were great. The ocean view was a joke as you had to literally lean over the railing to see the ocean. Checking in the lobby was clean and valet was accommodating. Unfortunately that's the extent of good things I have to say about this hotel. Walking in the room had a musty smell. The bathroom was dirty with random hairs all over. There was no dresser or any way to put your clothing away except the 4 hangers. We called guest services and they said they would bring a dresser up. What they brought was a nightstand that looked like it was bought off Temu. After going back down to the front desk we were told that there are no rooms with any dressers and we could not get any additional hangers. Furniture was in bad condition and definitely not worth the price they were charging. The room was not cheap, but it felt as if we were staying in a Motel 6.
