The place had a lot of potential with lots of renovation and updates. The rooms were not the best. Mattress covered torn. Nails sticking out of the walls. I had bigger shower space on a cruise and I am a petite person. No counter space in the bathroom had to keep coming out to get things I needed. Towels had burned spots. There was a bath towel left over the shower curtain not sure whose it was bcs did not matched the green towels in the room. The coffee in the morning was terrible and not a variety or options for a healthy breakfast. The only thing I can say positive is the lady that's runs the place was really a nice lady. read more

We decided to make a last minute stop in St. Augustine on our way home to Tampa. We rented The Tranquility Room (#4) and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious, and nicely decorated. It had an electric fireplace, a private balcony, a jacuzzi tub with a rain shower head. While some inn's have evening activities, the quiet of this one, was a welcomed respite from the chaotic traffic that led us to take a break. After we checked in & got situated, we decided to do a self-guided Haunted walking tour due to the late hour. We were surprised & delighted to find out that the Peace & Plenty Inn was one of the stops on the tour. While we didn't experience any apparitions, it was fun to think about. A fellow traveler claimed to hear a woman scream but her travel companion didn't. The king-sized bed was firm but not hard (I am picky but slept well). In the morning, we were served a delicious breakfast in the beautiful dining area. I can't have gluten or dairy and the lovely woman who made our breakfast was very accommodating... which is rare. Check-out was at 11 am and very easy. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly choose this location again. read more

This property had a great location but it is in desperate need of updating. We stayed in the suite. The first room was descent but the second room was not good. The carpet was extremely dirty. The nightstands in that room had paint chipped off and other areas were just really dirty. The bathroom wall had a towel bar that was broken off but the hardware still on the wall, the paint was chipped everywhere and behind the faucet, the wall was peeled and cracked. In addition, there is suppose to be someone on the property from 8:00am-6:00pm. That was not the case two of the days we were there. One day we had to search through the main house for toilet paper...and that was at 4:30 pm! read more

We arrived at the Inn at about 220pm and planned to just park the car and go get something to eat before check-in at 3. So, we parked in the small lot and went to the door, rang the doorbell and were greeted by a woman with such a puss on her face because, as she said, we were, "technically early." After pausing for a minute, she asked us to come in and again told us we were "technically early." She was so rude. We offered to leave and come back, which was our original plan, but she said no. She complained about having to do everything: the cooking the cleaning, etc. She looked and found that she had just cleaned our room (#6). She then gave a brief "tour" of the first floor and then we went out back to the carriage house where our room was located. At first glance, the room looked okay. Later, I noticed that the shower and bath mats were dirty and the bathroom was dusty. The bed smelled like dirty feet and the bedspread itself was dirty. It was supposed to be white, but it was dingy white. The next morning, we went to what they referred to as breakfast. It was a square egg portion, two brown 'n' serve sausages and a piece of something that to this day I can't identity. It was not gourmet and it wasn't up to the standards of a B&B. We left early the following morning and had breakfast elsewhere. Needless to say, we will never return to this place. As for B&B's, it's TECHNICALLY in a league of its own. read more

I have never wrote a review on a place that I never actually set foot in but here goes. I had booked this place for my wife's birthday for a lil getaway alone. I decided to buy the vacation protection just in case because it has always been a good idea. So I had a medical emergency that required hospitlaztion and was told it would be at least a two day stay. So knowing we had the insurance I obviously canceled. Come to find out the company did not want to honor it. We called the B and B and they did not pick up. We called Expedia and did a confrence call and again they did not pick up. We tried the B and B a few hours later and my wife explained to them that we had trip insurance and they said. "Oh that's if you sick why you are here" my wife then asked since I was discharged from the hospital a day early if we could canel the cancelation and they said yes but we would have to repay the original fee. My wife tried to explain our situation and the lady from the B and B hung up on her. We tried to call them back on my phone and they would not pick up. Then when we tried calling back with a phone with a different area code and the picked up. It's a shame on their part because my in laws and their friends were in the process of booking two rooms for five days. Terrible company that should be avoided. read more

My friends and I booked the Peace and Plenty Inn for a girls' weekend and it was fabulous. The location is convenient to the sites and near the Lightner Museum where the trolley picks up. At check in the woman was agitated because the maid did not show up to work and there were 2 couples wanting to get to our rooms. The first couple got checked in but our room was not ready. It was after 3 PM so she had to prepare our room. Then she entered my wife's CC information incorrectly many timed that the bank put a freeze on my wife's card. She did the same thing to my CC. Next morning I checked my bank and saw she tried to run my CC 4 times, I called my bank and was told the address she entered was wrong and my CC is good. I did this on speaker phone with the woman at her computer. I asked her to correct the address so I could pay but she refused. She said to get cash. Long story but eventually my wife called her bank and got things done. We stayed here anout 9 years ago, it was a very nice BnB then but now the new owner has let things go. The toilet in our room would leak water and refill constantly, l told them but nothing was done. The electric fireplace in our room was broken, no flame and constant heat. The jacuzzi was filthy and we would not use it. Overall, the place looks nice but there is a lack of maintenance or carrying. No wonder why the 3 other BnBs on the street are full and this one has vacancy read more

I so very much enjoyed my stay here! Sejal was so kind, helpful, and just incredible. The place is adorable and my suite was perfect. It is a close walk right into the main historic area of downtown St Aug. The breakfast prepared by Carla was AMAZING! It tasted delicious and had a beautiful presentation. My girlfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary this weekend and it was better than I could have ever expected! I booked this place on a whim and it was honestly the best place I've stayed yet. The hosts were amazing, friendly, and extremely helpful. Anything we needed was provided and breakfast was to die for. My wife and I spent our vacation here for a week. I love the town and its history. The house is extremely convenient to downtown. I did not have to drive all week, except to the beach. Our room was very clean with a comfortable mattress and a beautiful shower and bath. The air conditioner was on point and kept us very comfortable. The staff was kind and attentive. If there were any questions or concerns, they would address them immediately. All the breakfast meals were fantastic! We had a breakfast Mexican burrito, crunchy blueberry waffles, banana foster muffins, Monte Cristo, and a delicious vegetable frittata. The homemade sauces they made for the meals were outstanding. If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would. Had and overpriced $200 per person meal here New Year's Eve 2023. After telling the wait staff about our sons Tuna/salmon allergy we asked that the tuna sauce on the appetizer be omitted only to be told after our son ate it there was an accident and it was put on the dish. When we asked to speak to the manager we were told we could leave. Had we not been able to locate medication we could have lost much more than the $595 dollar bill we were presented with. Peace and Plenty is a charming bed and breakfast in an old Victorian just steps away from major tourist attractions in St. Augustine! Our room: The room was stunning. Comfy bed, TV hidden in a beautiful armoire, gorgeous front porch with a couple of chairs (we enjoyed our complimentary wine out on this porch and it was lovely!), big soaker tub with jets... It was a beautiful room and we were very comfortable. The staff: So nice! We actually had a bit of trouble at the hotel we were supposed to stay at, and they moved us to Peace & Plenty. And the staff was so accommodating! They offer breakfast in the morning and a little wine fridge with free white and red wine that you can pour and take outside or up to your room (which you'll definitely want to do if you get the front room with the gorgeous balcony). The house: Besides being gorgeous, it's so conveniently located! You can walk to Flagler College, Lightner Museum, and really everything else in the historic district. You get a parking spot with at the B&B, so I'd just park for the day and walk around! It's so close to the historic district, but on such a quiet street. The street has four beautiful Victorian homes used as B&Bs just next to each other, and it was quiet and peaceful (we really, really enjoyed our complimentary wine on the porch). No complaints - this is a lovely place to stay in St. Augustine! read more

I absolutely loved this place! It was my first B&B experience for my birthday. My husband and I had 24 hours in St Augustine. The staff was really helpful in pointing out must see attractions. We were able to do and see so much! The atmosphere was very welcoming. There is a main house and other rooms behind the yard. We stayed in the Nirvana spa suite. It was all Asian themed. The decor was beautiful, the room and bathroom were both very clean.... Hotel snob here.... The bed was ok in terms of comfort, a little soft for my taste but I slept well. There was a beautiful garden behind the main house. There were several areas to sit, eat or drink. There was also a fire pit area. In the main house there was a nice dining area with several tables, where breakfast was served. In the living room area there was a coffee table with goodies (cakes, cookies, wine, sherry and port) There was also a small refrigerator stocked with wine, beer, and sodas. Water was also available in pitchers. Ok BREAKFAST! .... AMAZING! It included coffee, tea, juice, water, cereal, and yogurt to choose from. At the table the staff brought over a bowl of fresh fruit. The menu for that glorious morning was cheesecake crepes, with a blueberry sauce and turkey sausage. The food was delicious, my mouth waters just thinking about it. This was a great place to spend my birthday and experience a B&B for the first time. I would love to visit others but if I go back to St. Augustine it would be difficult to not stay at Peace and Plenty again! read more

We stayed at the Peace & Plenty over Christmas weekend. We arrived on Saturday and left on Christmas Day. We were greeted warmly by Glenna who was an amazing hostess. She was a great source of information about the town, places to eat, things to see, and details about some of the towns history. You could ask her anything and she probably knew the answer. The house was a charming historic home and had a cozy holiday feel to it as it was wonderfully decorated for Christmas. This made our Christmas just right and exactly what we wanted. We really got lucky that we were on the best decorated street in town. So much so that the Holiday Trolleys pass the house every day. We stayed in room #3. Our room was very comfortable and the king bed was extremely comfortable. We stayed in the main house and I felt right at home. We really enjoyed the complimentary wine and treats offered every night as well. The breakfast changed each day and the menu was displayed at the front door each night so you knew what to expect the next morning. Everything we had was wonderful. Next time we are in St. Augustine we will definitely return to the Peace & Plenty B&B. Thank you for making our holiday so special! read more

My husband and I, along with our two dear friends, chose St. Augustine for our annual Christmas get-together. We spent 4 nights at Peace & Plenty the weekend before Christmas, and just checked out today (Christmas Day). I miss it already! The location is perfect, in Old Town and in walking distance to everything. Over the course of our 4 nights/days we never moved our car (one parking space for each suite). We strolled everywhere! Glenna is a wonderful hostess, providing thoughtful insight into places to visit and how to get there. Each morning, she'd ask us about our plans for the day and if we had any questions, and in the afternoons she'd welcome us back. We really felt like we were "at home" in her home. My husband and I stayed in Tranquility Suite #4, and our friends were next door in #3. Both are upstairs in the main house (as is #2). We loved #4 as we had a full private balcony with chairs and table to enjoy our mornings with coffee and our evenings with wine. Our friends loved #3 for the super comfy King-sized bed. Their suite was very light and airy with windows that really brought in the light, and I especially liked the size of their bathroom. While our bathroom in #4 was smaller, and our bed was a Queen, the balcony is the reason I would book this room again. If it was the dead heat of the summer, however, I doubt we'd use the balcony much, and would probably opt for another room instead. We also toured #2 while there was no guest staying in the room. This suite has a large sitting room with TV. There was no TV in the bedroom, so the TV watching would really need to be done in the sitting room if this is an important feature for someone. Other than that, it was a spacious suite also, and very nice. Legend is that this suite is where Sophie Decher is sometimes seen. Sophie was the wife of Conrad Decher who purchased the house in 1895. The breakfasts changed each morning, and were another thoughtful touch to our stay. Food was served elegantly, and we appreciated the quality of a gourmet breakfast as opposed to a continental breakfast anyone can find in a hotel. Each evening brought us to the living room to create small plates of desserts and pour a glass of wine (red or white wine, Coke, Diet Coke, bottled water, cans of beer were all available at all times with port and sherry only available in the evenings). We enjoyed the space here with the Christmas tree, but most often enjoyed our goodies on our balcony before retiring each night. Some have said the carriage house is more private, however, we did not feel any lack of privacy in the main house at all. There are only three rooms upstairs, so there is no foot traffic to speak of. The house is a quiet space, and you can see the commitment to "Peace" in everything from the scents, the light music playing at breakfast, the artwork in the rooms, and the overall decorating schemes which varied from room to room. There is no doubt in my mind that we will return. I really wish it could be sooner rather than later! Furnishings were elegant, cozy atmosphere, very warm and kind innkeeper who answered all of our questions and made some great recommendations for local restaurants and sights. This was a stop on our honeymoon trip, and it was phenomenal! The folks here were more than accommodating and hospitable, and the location is in perfect walking distance to the main sites. We were able to walk to anywhere in downtown very easily. Great Location. It has some great historical value. The original owner of this "cottage" was friends with Henry Flagler back in the 1800's. My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary after reviewing other reviews. Previously, we stayed at other Bed in Breakfast in St. Augustine but decided to give this one a try. The check in was seamless until I found my rate was $40.00 higher than what I found online and what I thought I booked. I overlooked this and just let it go. The location is good and is blocks to downtown. Parking is free but is very tight so if you have a large SUV or Truck you may not be able to park in the lot. Our room was okay but was nothing special and we expected a lot more for $229.00 a night. We stayed in the Tranquility Suite which also had a balcony. The room is very small to begin with and the bed is a platform bed that sits very low to the floor. The one plus is the bed was comfortable, pillows on the other hand left a lot to be desired. They were flat, and not comfortable at all. The room was clean but not as cleaned as I had expected. The room has large furniture in it and it was crowded. For instance, you could only use the one chair at the table for two, the chair in the corner and stool had to be climb over to sit in the chair. The major issue with this room is the lighting that comes into the room at night. The bathroom has a large stained-glass window from the hallway. The hallway light stays on all night and the light from this window alone lights up the whole room. We closed the door and this helped somewhat. The door to our room did not close tight and has a large gap at the bottom and on the sides allowing an abundance of light in the room from the hallway. I placed a towel at the bottom of the door to try and block out some of the light but it didn't work to well. Our room had two windows. The blinds did not work on either window and we could not open them to look outside or close them all the way at night to keep the light out. All the blinds were in poor condition. The door to the balcony had a piece of cloth hanging over the glass. This cloth had stains all over it and could not be rolled up and had to stay down the entire time. The blind was not attached to the door but to the wall and it did not cover the entire door. The bottom section of the door had no covering. I attempted to drape a towel off the chair to the table to cover it but that was no help. If you wanted to go out the door you had to fight with this blind/clothe to get out. The lack of a true blind on the door allowed an abundance of light to shine through. The building had white Christmas lights attached to it which were bright. At night these lights beamed through both windows and the balcony door the entire night. This illuminated our room as if the sun was shining outside. It made sleeping difficult to say the least due to how bright the room was. We managed the best we could but literally came home more tired then when we went due to only sleeping 3-4 hours a night. The downstairs of the Bed and Breakfast as well as our room were warm each day and we had to use the ceiling fan on high. The guest is not able to control the air in their room as there is no thermostat. We switched our ceiling fan to a higher setting to keep it cooler but it was off balance and made all kinds of noises. We did not use the balcony during our stay as it was dusty and dirty, and the weather made it uncomfortable. The balcony is large and has patio furniture on it. It would be ideal in the cooler months. We did use the balcony Saturday night after being awaken by a large amount of noise and police lights outside. It appeared they had been chasing a person and caught him on the street in front of the inn. This went on for about an hour but was not the fault of the Bed and Breakfast. My wife and I did not eat breakfast during our stay which was a disappointment. The breakfast hour of 9 am to 10 am wasted to much of our day and we could not start our day prior to 10 am if we ate breakfast. An earlier time or a two-hour segment such as 8 am to 10 pm where you could go to breakfast at your leisure would be more appealing and would allow you to start your day earlier. All the other Bed and Breakfast we have stayed at had an 8 am breakfast or a two-hour segment. The wine available through out the day is a very nice touch and was much appreciated. With a few minor fixes this room could be extremely nice. More is not always better and less furniture and a lot less light would make the stay a lot better. read more

We have stayed at seven other bnbs in St Augustine... this will be our top choice of return picks! Location is just as good as any others, but quieter than on A1A. A five min walk to historic area at the most, but the decor, finishing touches and amenities put this at the top. Although there were three small negatives, we would not call them downfalls or anything worth passing this by. There was construction next door and at the carriage house during our stay which took over parts of the garden area but it was done with by evening...still a heads up would've been nice since those rooms were still ones we had considered and were available. The hostess was nice and very helpful but there was some warmth lacking for some reason. Last of all, we would have liked to hear what was being served for breakfast before it was out in front of us, which the other guests benefited from...only because of dislikes vs allergies....of course we could've asked after the fact for no apricot/ sauce but hated to be a pain. Now, back to THE reasons to stay here... location of course is very good, price is very competitive and actually a benefit to consider, ambience is lovely...all the perfect touches and then some, they know what they are doing he like a well piled machine. The amenities of help yourself to the soda, water, beer, wine, ice, etc anytime is such a pleasure. The pre dinner or post dinner dessert time is long lasting and delightful, but it would be nice if the hostess socialized if no other guests partake at least when it starts like other bnbs. The rooms were luxurious.... quaint, comfy, nice amenities, beautiful view if you get a balcony, great beds and fireplaces. All in all, we would pick this again over Casablanca, City House, St francis, Powder House, etc. Its a winner without question. Enjoy!! p.s. There is an outside seating area with a small fire pit and chandelier. There is a cute cat that stays outside named Starsky. There is complimentary beer and wine and great breakfast. Booked a room on a whim and got an excellent deal on a room (three room suite!). The staff is very cordial and polite, but not the overfriendly type that intrudes or is too involved. We were given plenty of privacy, but knew they were there to assist if needed. The house is absolutely beautiful and decorated in the most charming way. We were in love with all of the decor and little trinkets found throughout the inn. Be sure the checkout the garden which has a lovely fountain that practically sparkles at sunrise. Breakfast was a tad disappointing and felt rushed, but the waiting staff was very enthusiastic. There is self serve coffee in morning and sherry/wine/beer at night! However I recommend going out for coffee instead if you are a coffee snob, because their brew wasn't very good. If you are the type to sleep in, I would strongly advise you to not get a room on the first floor. There is a lot of ruckus between the kitchen prep and the stairs as early as 6AM. If that's too early for you definitely avoid room Harmony #1 and book one of their other wonderful rooms. All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone! My husband and I were visiting on our anniversary. We loved the city and the location. On the plus side, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The upgrade and wine was a nice addition for our anniversary. The bathroom was updated and amazing. The breakfast every morning was 5 star. On the negative side. Every breakfast we had was served on chipped dishes. The constant work on the carriage was relentless and took away the whole appeal of the back yard (hammering, sawdust, paint fumes, etc.) Our room lack a good dusting. I spent an hour the first night dusting. The overall feel of the room was dark and dusty. I went to open up the blinds and they feel apart. They were never repaired during my visit. we had to wipe down the table and chairs on front porch before we sat down. This place has amazing potential but for me it is just not there yet or maybe I visited at a bad time. I loved this city and plan to be back. read more

A hearty, freshly made breakfast starts your day at this quaint bed and breakfast conveniently located in downtown St. Augustine. You can park your car here and just walk or Uber to destinations. The people are the best hosts and can make your stay even more convenient by making dining reservations for you. Highly recommended for couples of any age! This is a perfect location. Near Flagler College and Lightner Museum, and just steps away from St. George's Street. Take the trolley the first day you are there to get familiar with the area and what you might want to do. Must eat at the Columbia, but save yourself from Catch 27 as it is too small, noisy, crowded and has a limited menu. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to stay at our first bed and breakfast for Valentine's day this year and oh boy did we make a good decision. After hours of researching we landed on the Peace and Plenty Inn. We were greeted by our hostess who was very informative and knew just about anything you wanted to know about St. Augustine. She gave us a tour of the Inn and then showed us to our room, which was lovely. We even had our own private balcony and Jacuzzi. She gave us maps of the area and recommended places for us to have a romantic dinner. She then left us to get settled and we relaxed on our bed for a little before sightseeing. It was so big and soft, we wanted to take it home with us. The bed was not complimentary but there were complimentary drinks such as beer, wine, soda, water, coffee, tea, as well as after dinner desserts and sherry and port. We were the first ones to break into the desserts and it was all done with so much love and care. Also while we were snacking our hostess gave us a Chocolate Heart as a gift and said "Happy Thanksgiving". It was so funny, such an odd mistake to make but we all had a good laugh over it. After the laughing and during the snacking I was able to look at all of the records of the house. A thumping good read if I do say so myself. Really neat to stay in such an old place. And our B&B was not advertised as "Haunted" as many are but it sure looked it. It looked like one of those places you see on the ghost TV shows, but I didn't want to know until we were leaving because if it was I didn't want to see something everyone else said they have seen. I wanted to see it on my own. Our room came with everything we could have needed from soap to bath-robes. There is a great view from the balcony. The decor was very nice, I got a chance to glance into other rooms at the end of our stay and it seems as though they all had different themes. There was a marching band suit outside of our door and it freaked me out a couple of times but I got used to him. Also some dolls I wasn't really a fan of but it was nothing personal, I just don't care for dolls. The next morning we had breakfast in the dining room, we were treated to a variety of breakfast foods like cereal and fruit, but the real treat was the Waffles! We had to wait for a little bit because I'm pretty sure there were only two people back there tending to everything. But it was so worth the wait. It was like they found a way to batter and deep fry butter. So crunchy on the outside and soft and buttery on the inside. It was perfect. I wish I could have them for breakfast every morning. Also I loved the back round music and the art on the walls. Very classy. Another great thing about B&Bs is that the majority of the patrons are older. So even though we are in our early 20's it's nice that everyone else is 60+ because that way you don't have to worry about loud drunkenness while you're trying to relax, which I'm sure at first they were concerned about us being that way but we ended up making quite a few friends from this trip. So the answer to the big question, is the Peace and Plenty Inn haunted? Yes! But just in one room. Which room? Well that's for me to know and for you to find out. But don't worry. This was the first bed and breakfast I have ever been to. It was so neat not having the typical hotel experience in this great city. The Inn is very well kept and during Christmas it is well decorated inside and out. They offer breakfast in the morning which can also be delivered right to your door so you can have breakfast in bed. I would recommend staying out in the carriage house on the second floor in Rhapsody Suite #6. It is absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back in the future. The staff is caring and willing to accommodate any request, such as birthday cakes, champagne, wine, dinner reservations, tours, ect.. Parking present right outside. read more

Peace & Plenty is a solid 4 star Bed and Breakfast. It is one of the cheapest B&Bs in the area, and you get most of the perks of the other places. Here's the breakdown. Pros Cost: We paid $89 plus tax off season for a nice room with a full kitchen. Now most people don't want to cook on vacation, but I love cooking, so to have a kitchen I could make a small meal at 2 am was fantastic. But even the other rooms were not much more if you don't want to see a stove during your romantic get-away. Comfort: The bed was nice. The room was pleasant. The bathroom was cozy. There was a little courtyard that was somewhat enjoyable. Location: The house is two blocks from the Lightner Museum and four blocks from the river. Cons Service: The owner is pretty stuffy and definitely not warm. She runs things more like a hotel than a B&B. I am not saying she was mean, but don't expect a hug when you walk in the door. Food/Drinks: There is free wine and beer available in the main house all day, but it is really low quality. There is evening snacks with port and scotch, but also the drinks were not good quality and the treats were ok. The french toast for breakfast was very good, but somewhat small portions, and the accompanying sausage was Jimmy Dean-like frozen sausage. Again, nothing was bad, but just not stellar. But for the cost, it was to be expected. Ants: There were a few carpenter ants that were on the wall in the bathroom next to the tub. This is an old house, like everything in St. Augustine, so it is no surprise. But still, I would have preferred no ants. Overall, this place is a great deal. If you are comparing staying here to staying at the Hilton for the same price, I would take this place in a heart beat. But if you are looking for an uber-romantic stay in tranquil St. A, then there are better (though more expensive) B&B options in the area. read more
