I went to check out this place for a night then asked about rates and they showed us a few rooms. They said they had weekly daily and monthly stays. The girl at the front desk was a mess and we said we would like to speak to the owner and where blown off. It was unprofessional and the other staff members seemed to be on drugs as well bad service. We arrived for our mini-vacation and were greeted by a super friendly front desk person. Very attentive and sweet. Room was very clean, great A/C, lots of towels and toiletries, a mini fridge and microwave, coffee maker and the most comfortable bed ever!! They also gifted us with sparkling cider because we were on our "baby-moon", along with a nice card. I was so touched!!! On a trip to St. Augustine, we stayed at The Cozy Inn for a night. Upon checking in, they were really helpful in offering places to check out around town. They also had several maps and brochures that we picked and took with us that we appreciated. The Cozy Inn is basically an apartment complex that has been transformed into a motel. There are parking spots next to your room. The apartment itself is your standard apartment. Nothing fancy, but it does the job. Nothing spectacular or memorable but it does the job. The Cozy Inn is located in a good part of St. Augustine, close to all the attractions that the town has to offer. read more

The Cozy Inn is one of the factors that made our stay in St Augustine absolutely amazing. Ill start off with the staff, the managers were very accommodating and kind. The Inn is pet friendly, so we were able to bring our pup. Our room was very clean and small, so i could say it was... Cozy. The only complaint we had with the room was that it was a minor odor. Like if the room was wet or something. The location was great, we were within walking distance to The Fountain of Youth and The Old Jail. The street between the Inn and the activities were under construction, so be careful walking down the street. Old motel doesn't always mean "old". Yes, it's a motel, at least in the section I stayed. We paid around $109 per night. The property was kept very nice and the clerk running the place was very friendly and helpful. The inside of the room was really really nice. It's an older place but the rooms compare well to any respectable hotel chain. Downtown was walkable although I wish it was a pinch closer, maybe 1.25-1.5 miles. I'd stay here again. I really didn't know what to expect. I wanted to take my Paramour away for his 45th birthday, and since he'd never been to my favorite city, St. Augie was the destination. Problem? All the hotels & B&B's wanted a 2 night stay because it was the city's 450th birthday. That is All but the Cozy inn. The cozy inn is a throw back to a different era. It's a road side inn from the 40's or 50's and it appears untouched by time, however the rooms are updated. We had room 12, which on the inside was absolutely beautiful. A very Floridian theme with a tropical bed spread, and a little table. The bathroom was quite tiny, but sufficient. The hospitality of the innkeeper was beyond par! I mentioned why we were there, and she offered us a bottle of wine, we declined, but thought that the gesture was quite nice. I would totally stay here in the future. read more

We have taken several mini-vacations in St. Augustine and we have always stayed in the big chain hotels. After searching the internet and looking at all the positive reviews for the Cozy Inn, we decided to give it a try. The reviews were spot on, the lady that greeted us at the desk was super friendly and helpful. The room was just as the name suggests (cozy) and immaculately clean. It felt like a summer get away home, not a typical hotel room. Whenever I walked outside, the employees greeted me and inquired if there was anything they needed to be aware of that may be wrong with our accommodations. This was an amazing find and a hidden gem when it comes to affordable, clean, and comfortable lodging. It has a full kitchen, with lots, pans and utensils, paper towels, dish soap etc. A living room with tv and separate bedroom with tv. I absolutely loved staying here and would stay again next time in St. Augustine. I cannot speak on the smaller rooms and the quality, but we booked the suite/townhouse room with the upstairs and it was great! SO clean, the customer service was impressive, and it exceeded my expectations as far as how close it was to everything and how safe I felt there. Stayed in one of the townhouses, it was small but cute and very clean. The check-in office was friendly and helpful with recommendations. The only complaints was having to go upstairs anytime we needed to use the bathroom (an extra toilet downstairs would have been great) and the AC unit was noisy, (though it worked efficiently, even in the extremely hot weather). Also, a few more towel/robe racks in the bathroom were needed, plus the toilet was a fairly low-to-the-ground model with no grab bar, hard on those with any arthritis in the legs or knees. A perfect little roadside motel/inn that reminds me of what my family used to stay in when we traveled across the country when I was a kid. If you're looking for a fancy hotel with a gym and spa, or an exceptionally quaint bed & breakfast, this isn't it. But what it does offer is good accommodations at reasonable rates. The room we stayed in was had a queen bed, a small table with chairs, and a small but serviceable bathroom with a shower. Our room was set back from the road a bit, so we did not notice any road noise as others have mentioned. Everything was clean and orderly, and we never felt like we were needing anything more. For well under $100/night, this is a great value in a fairly pricey tourist town. The downside of the great value is the distance from old town. It's far enough that you won't want to walk, and parking in St Augustine is a hassle, especially with 3-4 hour street limits. Your best bet is to call for a cab. as it costs maybe $5-7 to get anywhere. You could also bring your own bicycles if that's your thing, as it's free and parking is plentiful. Overall a great little inn that offers everything you need, and nothing you don't, for a great price. read more

I am so glad that I found and booked our stay at The Cozy Inn. I surprised my husband and upgraded at the last minute to the Honeymoon Suite for our 8th Anniversary. I called and spoke to Christina the morning of our arrival and asked for the upgrade. I had originally booked on Expedia so I wasn't sure of the process. She held the room for us and when we got there she had everything ready. Our Suite was located across the street from the office in the historic house portion of the inn. The suite was called "The Royal". We had the entire second floor of the home to ourselves. When we arrived at the top of the stairs and first laid our eyes on our suite, my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, spacious & bright. There are several skylights throughout the suite that let in natural light. We entered the kitchen to find a bottle of wine from a local winery and two glasses with a personalized card for our occasion. The kitchen, dining and living area are open concept with a small nook with a desk as well. The only thing that area was lacking was a three prong plug for electronics. They had a little extension cord running behind because there's no outlet on that wall. The bedroom had a King bed and traditional furnishings. The tub was in the bedroom to the right as you entered the double doors to the suite. It is tastefully situated in a way so it is somewhat off of the bedroom but open to it. There we found his and hers robes. The only suggestion I have here would be some bubble bath or bath beads/crystals. The bathroom off of the suite was spotless and bright. A nice bright skylight in there as well. A heads up, The shower is really small. One person at a time for sure. Not long after our arrival, we decided to go in to the shopping district. We were locking up and we're greeted by the owners of the cozy inn. They asked if we found the accommodations satisfactory and wanted to welcome us. Very nice couple. They also suggested some local favorites for us during our stay. After a long day and a lot of walking, we came back to our suite. It was almost too quiet. In the morning it was not so quiet though. This was really the only annoyance for me. I was woken up to a dog continuously barking. There is a vets office next door who does some boarding. This is not something that would keep me from staying again. Just thought I would mention it. Check out was quick and easy. It was a great stay. If we stay in St. Augustine again we plan on reserving this suite. We really enjoyed it.. My husband was pleased and that's not an easy task! Our next stay will include a 10 percent discount. The name of this motel is cute, but nothing is cute about highway traffic at 4 A.M. Situated on top of a busy main road, semi trucks and cars with loud stereos whiz past at all hours. If you are not bothered by that type of ruckus, then the Cozy is a great bet. It's close to the main areas but not down in the historic district, and the rooms are clean (as in, smelled like the chemicals they'd used to clean it - so it must be clean, right?) and comfortable. The window air conditioners could stand to be upgraded (they're the kind that blow the window curtains up, thereby defeated the curtains' purpose), and there was loud hammering on the exterior of my unit at 8 AM. Overall my stay was fine though - my earplugs and white noise machine did the trick. The free WiFi was a nice touch. My husband made reservations at the Cozy Inn for our 32nd Wedding Anniversary and what a perfect stay we had! This Inn offers everything from just a simple room to an efficiency and apartment. We stayed in a regular room with a double bed. The room was perfect! Honestly, I don't think I've ever stayed in such a clean room! This room was so clean you could eat off the floor, ceiling and even the table! There wasn't a cob web or spot of dirt anywhere. I need their cleaning people to come to my house! The bathroom was small but efficient. The room is cooled by a small unit in the room, therefore not cooling the bathroom unless the door is left open which I found to be a bit warm when taking a shower. Honestly. I don't know where to begin. This place gives cozy its name. Perfect place to wake up to in the morning and best place to wind down at night after enjoying the city. We were within walking distance to everything. We literally walked everywhere. The staff left a letter with a beautiful note as we arrived after check out time telling us how to get into our room. The next morning they have us the 411 on the best spots to visit. We loved it so much we are planning another trip. So much fun !!! Love this place so much. This is the cleanest hotel, at this price point, that I've ever stayed in. I've stayed in $200-300 rooms shared with friends or family members that were fairly clean. But this room was barely over $100 on a Saturday and I couldn't find a piece of dirt even if I'd had a magnifying glass. The sheets were clean. Extra pillows were available upon entering room. The shower was clean (that's a first). I even. . . dare I mention it? ...traversed the room barefoot during our stay. We stayed here at the suggestion of my coworker. It's a family owned, no frills establishment for a fraction of the price for a hotel in Saint Augustine. This is likely where we will plan on staying moving forward. It's certainly no frills, the room is very small, but we don't need much! There is a fridge and microwave in the room. We could do without the giant table that was in there, it took up half of the room. The room was clean, bed comfortable, staff friendly! They let us check in about 2 hours early, which was a bonus. While you aren't right downtown, it's only a few miles and a $3 uber ride. That's well worth it to not have to worry about finding or paying for parking downtown which can be upwards of $15! read more

"Very much enjoyed!" My father and I stayed here in a one bedroom suite while visiting friends in St. Augustine. It was perfect for us! I gave my father the bedroom - and I slept on the pull out couch in the living room. We only stayed one night - but it was so nice. Christine was delightful on check-in, and we were delighted to find our suite was more like a small ground floor apartment, directly across the street! Our suite included a lovely front porch with wicker furniture. The kitchenette was a full kitchen actually - though we didn't need it. We were quite comfortable and I could have enjoyed staying here for a week.... \ I did greatly appreciate the coffee maker - ready to go before we headed off to our breakfast with friends. I will say - I read another review talking about the street traffic on the main road right in front of the room where we stayed - but HONESTLY - we did not notice any annoying level of traffic sounds. We stayed on a Friday night - so perhaps truck traffic was lower - and on Saturday morning there was little traffic until around 9:30 (just as we were leaving) - but it was delightful. The bed, my father reported was most comfortable - and while no pull out couch is great - my night's sleep was just fine. There were televisions in both the living room and bedroom - so we each enjoyed some late night tv. The bathroom, I'll admit, was a bit small and in need of an update - - but over all the accommodations were really quite nice and a tremendous value. Our friends were part of a (sell out) convention group at the Renaissance at World of Golf roughly 20 minutes north. - We could have stayed at MANY hotel/motels closer to them - however I chose this for the reviews and the 'suite' set up and price and I am so glad we stayed here! It was so much more relaxing - and spotlessly clean - just a far better experience than any 'typical' hotel/motel experience. Next time I'm in St. Augustine - this will be my home away from home. read more

Did I say clean.Even the parking lot was clean! My wife and I are already making plans to stay again. The price of the townhouses was ridiculous. They love pets and the walk to St Augustine old town is around 15 minutes, if you do not want to ride the trolleys. I joked with Phyllis at the front counter, when checking out, that I was going to give the Inn a bad rating so no one else would stay here and we would have the place when ever we wanted. Great stay at The Cozy Inn. Staff was very nice and we were able to check in 2 hours early to be ready for a wedding. Room and bathroom were spotless; we stayed in room 20 for one night and it was perfect. Bed and pillows were comfortable. I cannot rave enough about this place!! My wife and I just went there for our honeymoon and Mary Ann took care of our every need. I have never been to a more hospitable hotel in my life. Every recommendation the staff at the cozy inn gave was amazing. They knew all the local restaurants and things to do. Also, the honeymoon suite was one of the best rooms I've stayed in. Having spent many vacations at 5 star resorts around the country, one of the main things I am looking for is cleanliness and service, and this is the CLEANEST place I have ever laid my head. The staff was top notch and went above and beyond for my wife and I to accommodate us and make our stay a great one !! They would have received 5 stars except the shower was a little small for my 6ft. 200lb body to get around in ... oh well, thats my only complaint here. Within walking distance from a couple of other chain places that were more expensive and looked a little run down for my liking. This is a family owned, quiet little gem that deserves the high rating it has received from me and several others from the trip advisor (which is how i found the Cozy Inn) Just a short walk from the Fountain of Youth and from 2 of the starting points for the tour trains that take visitors around town. We took our bikes with us on the trip to be able to bike up and down all streets to see things up close and go at our own pace. 5 minutes from Cozy Inn to anywhere you want to go via bikes.
