I went to Highland Automotive to repair my car and had an excellent experience. I had visited many shops trying to diagnose an electrical problem, but none of them could figure it out. Romel at Highland Automotive properly diagnosed the issue and fixed it for me. I highly recommend Romel and his services! read more

I needed a safety inspection required by the DMV and after many phone calls and disappointing price/time quotes, I finally found Highland Automotive. Romel was very cool and extremely helpful. I was able to drop my truck off first thing in the morning and he completed the inspection earlier than expected. I will definitely go to him with any future repairs and will be sending my friends his way. read more

RIPOFF Came here to fix a minor problem and they gave me a ridiculous price for an issue that I knew for a fact shouldn't be that much to fix ,any ways don't come here unless you want to be overcharged PS they wanted to keep my car overnight so i took it somewhere else and they fixed it in about 10 minutes read more

I am so grateful I went here for my brake and light inspection. I called around 3:30pm just before the technician was about to leave (he leaves early on Mondays) and he was kind enough to wait until I arrived. The inspection cost $83 and the certificate was $7. I also needed to replace one of the brake bulbs which cost $15, so overall I paid a total $105. I'd say that's a pretty fair price considering how quick and efficient the technician was! Thanks to his help, my car passed the inspection. Needless to say, I truly recommend going here and will definitely come back in the future. read more

The 3 reviews left for this place must be friends or family. I had the worst experience with this lazy shop.I requested to spend any amount of money for my car to get serviced and all I was given was excuses not to fix my problem. If you want to get ripped off and have your time wasted by lazy and unhelpful people, then I highly recommend this place. I would rather give my money to the men wanting to work hanging outside of AutoZone.I guess these people won the powerball, because it is obvious that they do not need money. read more

These guys repair BMWs better than any official BMW dealership or independent BMW specialists I've ever been to! A little background first before I explain why Highland Automotive deserves my 5 stars and why fellow BMW owners should check them out for a 2nd opinion. I knew my '97 Z3 needed a professional inspection since it just surpassed 100k miles and has been running sluggish for the past month. I asked Pacific BMW to take a look. 1-Hour later they came back with their report and said I needed some minor repairs (throttle body cleaning, valve cover gasket + groumets, spark plugs, oil pressure hose) along with a vehicle inspection, vehicle code scan, and road test. Pacific BMW quoted me just under $600 for all the parts and labor. I wanted a 2nd opinion, so I checked Yelp for local auto repair shops nearby and randomly selected Highland Automotive because they had the exclusive 'gold shield station' license and only 10 minutes drive away. When I arrived unannounced, I told the owner's son upfront that I wanted a 2nd opinion about my car. Without telling him the repair details, I simply asked him if he would be willing to spend some time looking over my BMW. All I gave him was my car is sluggish. The owner's son Romel was friendly and said he could look over my car immediately, and if I had the time to see his results in writing. Okay I agreed. 1/2 Hour later when he finished his diagnosis, he invited me into his office, closed the door, and carefully reviewed his notes with me. INCREDIBLY he identified the exact same issues that the dealership said I needed repair! I was stunned. Somehow he identified the same parts that needed replacement! I thought this was very cool since I never told him what the dealership said needed to be done in the first place!! I asked Romel if he would write up an estimate on the spot and he agreed. 5 minutes later he came back to me with his written summary estimate. Highland Automotive quoted me just under $500 for all the parts and labor. Their quote was $100 less than the dealership or 20% less than the dealership! I asked about their guarantee or warranties and he told me they guarantee their labor for 30 days, and all parts based on the mfr warranties (Bosch spark plugs, after-market BMW oil hose and valve cover gasket). I have to admit. I was impressed. Amazing how just an hour ago I was walking out a dealership nearly convinced they would hook me for the repair job. Then suddenly entering this local Glendale independent repair shop that turns my head upside down! I gave my business to Highland Automotive. Not only were they 20% less expensive than the BMW dealership, the owner seemed to take more interest and pride in his work, plus the overall experience was much more personal and direct. Here I had the guy that actually inspected my car, took notes, and let me watch him the whole time 30' away! Well done Romel at Highland Automotive. Now I know why your shop is the only licensed gold shield station in Glendale :) read more

I have a 10 year old Jeep Wrangler and Romel from Highland Automotive is the only person I trust with it. I've taken it to him a couple times for minor problem, and he's always been honest and got the problem resolved quickly and reasonably. They never try to beef up the repairs to fatten the bill. Simple, fast and reliable. I recently took my Jeep in to get the check engine light fixed and he figured out the problem before I walked off the property. Romel got the problem figured out and fixed within a day! He was very knowledgable and up front with the problem. He totally hooked me up and got me the best deal around. Thanks a lot Romel and the entire team at Highland Automotive! read more

Great family owned auto repair shop!! I took my truck in fearing the worst, but after a tune up its running like brand new again. These guys know their stuff and best of all are honest and trustworthy. Great thing is that they perform a wide variety of services from smog checks to inspections to just about all kinds of repairs and maintenance. I've always had a great experience here and I'm sure you will too!! read more

Fair prices with honest hard work just can't go wrong. I dropped in my car that had the engine light on, and multiple shops told me mixed answers they gor from doing a surface check along with the reader. This shop told me I would need to pay for a check, but that they would correctly identify exactly what was wrong along with the price of the inspection waived if I decided to get it fixed there. I was short on funds, but I trusted the mechanic- and I don't regret anything. He used original parts, got my old 2001 Sienna to run fine again, and even did the smog check that I needed for me. Best customer service, and I sure am going back there again! Again- prices are fair, and the mechanic does honest work. No blindsiding with hidden fees, and will regularly keep you updated on what he finds. read more

I got an oil change, struts and tires at highland automotive. They broke a wheel sensor, and put the tires on backwards! It ultimately cost me $1,000 to repair the damage that they caused to my car as a result of repair work Romel Gregorian- the son of the owner, Malcolm Gregorian, said I needed. I sued them in small claims court and won a judgment of $1,058.87. They have refused to pay the judgment and I am pursuing further legal action against them. Both of these guys called me a Mo---r Fu----r when I called to request that they pay me the judgement after waiting 20 days for that payment. Do not have any work done at this place!! read more

I tried this place after reading all of the reviews. I think they are honest and do a good job. He gave me the parts he took out of my car that he fixed and I didn't feel he was trying to take advantage of my situation at all. They were fast, convenient because I live in Glendale and I thought the price was reasonable for what they did. I would take my car again to get it serviced here. They were very friendly. I went here for a brake and light certificate that the DMV required for my salvage car to be registered after a total loss. I was happy with the price and service because I did call around other places and read bad reviews about other places before taking it here. :) Thanks! read more

Romel really takes care of you. I send all my friends his way. Fair price, you can trust that he'll get the work done right.

Trust-worthy, honest, and friendly family-owned auto mechanic. Very easy to deal with. Never recommends to do things that your car doesn't really need. Takes really good care of your car as my wife and I have been going there for several years now. read more

I was driving on my way to work when my cts had a sudden loss of power and sounded like it was going to blow up. I looked up the nearest automotive place and highland automotive showed up. Gave these guys a chance and they did not disappoint! First of all, I didn't even make an appointment. Showed up out of nowhere and they said sure we'll take a look at your car. Not more than 20 minutes later they diagnosed it as a broken exhaust system(or something like that). And no more than an hour and a half later, they had it fixed. Thanks for the great work and price! -nate read more

After having gone to three different smog testing stations, I was just driving and saw this place. I decided to give the shop a chance to smog test my car since the other places stated that there was somethig wrong with my vehicle. This place is absolutely awesome. Went in and the mechanic performed the smog test and the the car passed the smog check without any issues. Thank you so much Highland Automotive! read more

I've been recommending this place to all my family and friends. My brother and sister I law and myself have been loyal customers for years since they bought the place read more

I feel lucky to have found this place. This is the most trusting and honest Auto shop I have ever been to. And with my Lemony car I certainly have been to a lot! I first found them when I had to get my car repaired to pass its SMOG test. After talking with Romel he explained the whole process of what actually was wrong and all my options. I finally felt at ease, these guys know what they are doing and are going to do it right and for a better price then my first estimates! And now this is my place for Oil changes, and everything else that may come up. I have recommended this place to my friends and decided to join Yelp because I had such a great experience here. read more

Romel might be a great guy. I don't know. I ended up talking to this older gentleman perhaps his father for an oil change. What an attitude! The guy was rude, very unprofessional. The first thing out of his mouth was money. Normally, with an oil change comes a multi-point inspection. When I asked him if he would check the common multi-point inspections, he said that would be extra $10. All the old man talked about was money. I asked why do you charge extra for what others do as part of oil change service? He said I talk too much and refused to do the oil change. read more

I took my 2005 Acura with a tow truck to the shop since the starter was not working. Shop called me and gave me a $520 price which I did not a choice to accept and get it done. While picking up the car the shop said we charge $100 per hour. And the part is $250. But when I called around later the price of the part is about $130 (Denso). So if you do not mind to pay full list price for your part and $100 per hour for labor take it there. They will be waiting for you with open arms. read more
