The best!! Yesterday, I discovered that I had a small but important problem to be dealt with on my vehicle. Not having been in the area long - and owning an older 4Runner, so, I rarely need a mechanic - I didn't know where to go. My lucky star led me to call A&R. Harry asked me to come in in a couple of hours. I was greeted with a warm smile and handshake, he assessed the problem immediately and accurately, and had one of his (busy) mechanics come over and deal with it. I wasn't there 5 minutes. The cost was essentially nothing. A young woman showed up with an unexpected and urgent problem, and it was obvious that she had been to A&R before. When I moved to Los Angeles at 21 years old, I was a naive girl on her own in a big city. This review is long overdue, but it needs to be said that my experience with A & R Auto Repair (and Harry) has been exceptionally positive. A while back, I was getting brake warnings and my husband felt there was also a problem with my transmission. It seemed like anytime I had car trouble or needed routine maintenance it would end up costing a fortune. My friend had once told me she had a great and honest mechanic who wouldn't take advantage of you and she recommended calling Harry at A & R, so I did. I was able to take my car in to him the next day. It turned out nothing was wrong with the car, thankfully, but also, there was no charge. He wouldn't even accept payment for his time. I guess the brakes/transmission concern was just a glitch of some sort because the car has been fine since. Now, (more than a few months later) I'm having a different issue and I will be bringing my car back to Harry and I will continue to, because I know I can trust him and he obviously doesn't try to siphon money out of his customers. read more

Harry is very good. No gimmicks, no customers rip off. Honest work. I moved to Burbank and needed to fix problem on my Volvo xc90. He quickly figured out I need new struts and boot replacement, not a cheap job at $760. Price was fair as the damn car is expensive to work on. All got fixed ( he quickly changed the gas filter that I had with me too-no extra charge). Got home, then immediately saw oil leak under the car. Went early in the morning, turned out some seal inside the axle moved, sucks. Harry said his lack of luck, and that he takes responsibility. Turned out, the axle needs to be rebuilt. After few hours I went to pick up the car, turns out the axle couldn't be rebuild. He got a new one, $200, and put it in. And still, he stood by his word and didn't charge, even I made sure it is fair and ok with him.. I am glad on many different levels. 1 as a customer, he did great job. 2 as a human being. I always treat my customers well, if I have to go extra way I do it. I want to do my best as a professional and help people. Meeting someone who does same, who thinks of business relationships as of long term investment, and someone who respects himself and his work is great. It does feel like good karma, especially in this world full of crooks. 3rd, I'm glad because I don't have to look for a mechanic anymore.
