I can't say enough good things about Star Auto and Jerry. I originally brought my 2018 BMW X2 in because my two front tires were completely worn down, and after getting a flat on the way home Friday, I knew I had to get them replaced immediately. Jerry ordered the tires over the weekend and was ready to install them Monday at a great price. While replacing the tires, Jerry noticed my front struts were completely worn out, which was causing the uneven tire wear. He explained that if we only replaced the tires, the new ones would wear out quickly too. On top of that, my car had been making a loud airplane-like noise while accelerating for the last couple of years, and Jerry diagnosed it as all four wheel bearings. Originally, the repairs were going to cost around $4,100 between the tires, struts, wheel bearings, and labor. My wife and I were overwhelmed because it was completely out of our budget. After my wife spoke with Jerry and explained our situation, he showed us something rare these days: genuine compassion. He worked with us, cut costs wherever he could, and barely charged us for labor just to help us out. He brought the total down to about $3,600. Bought a used 2000 Chevy Astro van, and needed AC work done to it. First took it to the Chevy dealership in Burbank just to see what they would charge. $380 just to diagnose the problem, not even fix anything, and would be about 5 days before I could get a free technician. I remembered Star Auto center because they did a good job on resurfacing my breaks on my Subaru Forester. Took it to them, and the next day, they overhauled the entire ac system in one day. All new OEM parts, which it legit needed. It wasn't cheap, but was done well for a fair price with good parts. Bonus they seem to be experts on the Astro van as well. They went above and beyond, cause I was on a timeline for a camping trip the next day. Very happy with their service. Will be back when next problem in my old car hits. read more

If I could leave 6 stars I would! This shop is amazing and Jerry is an excellent repairman. I am beyond happy with my swrvice today. My poor car has been making a terrible scraping sound from the front drivers side wheel, and my regular mechanic found no problem and sajd it was safe to drive. Hearing this noise was driving me crazy so I gave Star Auto Center a try due to their amazing reviews and close walk to work. Lets say there WAS a problem and Jerry diagnosed it right away! He gave me a very fair price and he confirmed that gut feeling I had that my not-regular-anymore mechanic was being incredibly sloppy. Came here because of the good reviews but I'm honestly a little annoyed. I called asking about having my battery replaced and he said it would take 30 minutes for the battery to come. He asked If i was coming for sure so I said YES and came an HOUR later. (That gives plenty of time for the battery to arrive at the shop). Came to shop and I was the only customer here. He took my battery out and said my new one is on the way would be here soon... So we just sat in the car WAITING on a battery that I thought would be here before I even drove here! 50 minutes later and it finally arrived. Y'all, this is the place to get your car repaired. Jerry was excellent in all aspects. I had an a/c problem and dash lights coming on. He found the problem and totally let me make the decision on what I wanted to do without any pressure. I had him repair the problem and go ahead and replace my entire 23 year old system. So happy to have found Star Auto Center! Jerry, the owner, saved me $800. I had a faulty circuit on the rear taillight of my Audi. It wasn't possible to purchase just a new circuit. The dealer's service center said I had to purchase a whole new housing. Parts and labor would be $800. I stopped by Star Auto Center to see if they could replace the housing for less. After seeing that the housing could only be purchased from the dealer, Jerry went online to see if he could find a housing second hand. He couldn't find one and suggested a work around with the wiring. After a half hour, the light worked and Jerry didn't charge me a thing. He wouldn't even take a tip. Back in November 2021, my 2006 Acura TL was was on its last legs at around 235,000 miles. As I happened to be driving by Star Auto the car pretty much gave out but I was able to pull into the driveway of the shop. Once I got there Jerry found the issues and suggested to let him find a replacement motor instead of putting money into a new car. And almost a year later I am still grateful I went with his suggestion. He spent about a week looking for a new motor for me and even turned a few of them away because they were not up to his standard. Jerry ended up finding a great engine that only had about 80,000 miles on it, which in Honda terms is like a brand new engine. In the past year I have not had any issues at all with the work Jerry did. The car now runs like it's brand new! I've passed this shop for years and I finally decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did. Jerry, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable, honest and fair. He doesn't sugarcoat things, so if you don't want to hear the truth, this isn't the shop for you. He's conveniently located on the corner of W. Olive and N. Fairview, across from Chick-fil-A. He has his own parking which is nice so that you don't have to maneuver through other shops crammed into one complex. (That drives me crazy.) His lot is well lit and there are cameras, so I've felt safe having my car towed and leaving it on a Sunday so that he can work on it Monday. He stands behind his work 100% which provides me with added comfort as I have the worst luck with cars. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that he handles all extended warranties after a horrible experience I had at the Infiniti dealership. This is a huge plus as I no longer have to be taken advantage of at the dealership and have my car "held hostage" for days as they work through their overcrowded que of cars just to learn that not all of the problems were actually fixed. He's upfront with his pricing and communicates along the way to ensure that there are no surprises. He provides a line items of repairs so that you know exactly what you've paid for. He's even waived labor costs when additional repairs for needed. (Very generous.) His goal is to ensure that you're driving off in a safe vehicle.
