So, having Walt demonstrate what the problem was and how to amend it is an experience I'll always cherish, and I'll be damned if I don't defer to him when my bewilderment has peaked. HT Transmissions I…read morecannot say enough wonderful things about HT Transmissions Repair and Pedro. Bought a used car in November 2025, 5 weeks later, P0741 torque converter code, flashing D while driving. Between a shitty 90 day warranty and 1000.00 out of pocket expense, had a new torque converter for a grand total of 2600.00, that was reduced to 2300.00 and a 90 day warranty. 102 days, yes 12 days after warranty was over. When my transmission completely failed, 102 days after having it fixed, I was beside myself. I live 3 hours from L.A. and travel there often. I also live on a fixed income. In other words, now I had a car 87 miles from where I live, and 130 miles from HT Transmissions Repair. and no savings to speak of , to fix it...blah blah blah. I was quoted by RPM Motorcars, Sherman Oaks, same shop who put the torque converter in to begin with, but another shop was going to do the work....yes, cannot make this shit up. 6800.00 retail, but reduced to RPMS cost of 4500.00. 24 months /24,000 warranty. Or options 2 a used transmission with 49,000 miles, for 2200.00. And another 700.00 to install it. But said, not recommended. But would not put 24 months/24,000 in writing. Now, call me crazy.... I would have much preferred options to begin with it. I already researched this time cost of rebuilt transmissions, used transmissions and even remanufactured transmissions. I could have bought a new transmission for 6800.00 I had already been quoted 4500.00 from a shop in Ridgecrest. That is the average, higher rebuild cost. Then I really researched and found HT Transmissions on Fulton, North Hollywood. He's been in business for 31 years and has great reviews. From the beginning, Pedro was honest, patient and took the time to explain everything without trying to upsell or gouge me. Pedro and his crew, yes he has a ten man crew not only did a complete rebuild, he did it for 2800.00 saving me thousands of dollars. 12 months/12,000 miles. HT and Pedro took an incredible, financially stressful situation and turned it into something I could actually afford. My car runs beautifully and I have a peace of mind knowing I can travel, make my long commutes safely. Pedro and his crew not only take tremendous pride in their work. A couple of days after being fixed I noticed a rather large leak under my car, shocked.....called Pedro let him know what happened, that I needed to return home the next day..... He sent two of his guys to pick my car up, fixed it (it was just a loose clamp) free of charge. That's service So, if you're looking an honest, knowledgeable, fair transmission repair shop....look no further than PEDRO and his crew at HT TRANSMISSIONS REPAIR at 7325 Fulton Ave., North Hollywood, CA. 91605 818-982-1212 Thank you again Pedro for your integrity and your incredible work. Both appointments were cancelled sameday by Aamco. I would Not Rely on this company to care for your vehicle. Both appointment dates and their sameday cancellations by Establishment is Unacceptable. This just let's me know they dont care if your left stranded nor that they have highly inconvenienced you. Neil thinks it's acceptable in business to cancel sameday and to place blame on the customer for timeframe. They had all day to replace parts mentioned, Which is a 3 1/2 job. The job would have been completed on Monday, had They kept my appointment. I classify this company as having poor customer service. In business, a company should always be accommodating especially when a customer already scheduled an appointment.

You're probably even thinking about buying a new car since transmission replacement is an expensive repair that most likely costs more than the car is worth. My advice...save money in the long run (especially with the tariffs currently being imposed world wide) and get your transmission repaired. You can save the extra money for a rainy day or for other things. My 2012 Kia Sorento has over 211,000 miles on it and the transmission finally wore out. The gears were slipping and there was no power when I stepped down on the pedal. I called around to two other local shops before calling Arminco. Both places were WAY more expensive than Arminco and said they would need more time to repair my car (one shop said they needed a month and the other shop said that they needed a week and a half to rebuild the transmission). When I called Arminco and spoke to Serj, his price was more fair and his estimated time was shorter (he said he would have my car back to me in a week). After reading all of the positive reviews online I decided to have Arminco do repair the repair on my transmission. When I arrived at Arminco Serj took my car on a test drive while he explained what was happening with my gears. Serj explained that he works on a lot of Mercedes and BMW vehicles. After dropping my car off it was ready in 4 days instead of a week. Raymond also informed me that my axel needed to be replaced. When I picked up my car it ran perfectly! Serj provides a warranty for the first 12,000 miles or 1 year (whichever comes first). Thank you Arminco for repairing my Sorento so quickly; it feels great to be back on the road!

He called about an hour before I needed it saying they were wrapping up and shared the final price which ended up being a few dollars less than the original estimate. Car felt great and we will be returning for any future maintenance needs. Great service, fair pricing and great, clear communication.

Feeling a bit worried that my check up would take forever, they quoted me about 1.5hrs to do the standard checks including brakes, tires, fluids, and oil change and it actually ended only taking 1 hour! Very thankful that they were able to squeeze me into their busy schedule and take care of my car efficiently with friendly service! They've won me over and I'll definitely come back again in a few months for the next service date. What's also great is there are a lot of pretty decent spots to eat and even a few nice bakeries too while you wait for your car to get serviced. Highly recommend giving them your business!

I was introduced to Blue Star Auto Care by my cousin who like me is very particular about his cars. Zareh the owner of Blue Star Auto Care is very knowledgeable about Mercedes cars, so much so I would say he is Master technician, better than the Jokers at the dealers who are supposed to be Experts and trained by Mercedes. After various visits to the dealer complaining of gearbox problems and being told their is absolutely nothing wrong with the car, I believed them and continued driving the car.At the regular service A I took the car to Blue Star and upon starting the car and driving it into the service bay Zareh informed me that the Gear box mount has gone on my car which I found it hard to believe as the Jokers at the Dealers could not find any problem after various visit. He actually showed me the damaged part and proceeded to replace the Gear Box mount. Problem that Mercedes Dealer could not find resolved in less than 10 minutes and at very reasonable prices. I have two Mercedes SL500 and and ML350, the only person allowed to work on them is Zareh. He only uses Genuine Mercedes parts, very clean and professional service. read more

My girlfriend has taken her '05 Mercedes to a shop close to where she lives when it needed repair, but after a few questionable $1k+ jobs I decided to take it to Blue Star when the check engine light came back on since it's close to where I work. Couldn't ask for a much better experience. Zareh was refreshingly honest, upfront, responsive, and turned around what I needed fast. I've read on other reviews that "Z is the man". After taking my 2006 CLK here last week, I have to say Z IS THE MAN! Very reasonable prices and great customer service. He was honest about what repairs need immediate attention and what can wait. I had front and rear brake pads replaced, new rotors installed, an ESP sensor replaced, a Service A, and a fuel filter leak repaired. All completed in a day and at the right price. My CLK drives like a dream :-) And, the shop is clean, organized and actually smelled really good?! I highly recommend Z !!! read more

Zareh is the best!!! has taken care of our Mercedes for years. We have an ML 350 and he has always been reasonable and fair when telling us what is important to fix and what can wait. Jerry ordered the tires over the weekend and was ready to install them Monday at a great price. While replacing the tires, Jerry noticed my front struts were completely worn out, which was causing the uneven tire wear. He explained that if we only replaced the tires, the new ones would wear out quickly too. On top of that, my car had been making a loud airplane-like noise while accelerating for the last couple of years, and Jerry diagnosed it as all four wheel bearings. Originally, the repairs were going to cost around $4,100 between the tires, struts, wheel bearings, and labor. My wife and I were overwhelmed because it was completely out of our budget. After my wife spoke with Jerry and explained our situation, he showed us something rare these days: genuine compassion. He worked with us, cut costs wherever he could, and barely charged us for labor just to help us out. He brought the total down to about $3,600. That kind of honesty and heart is hard to find in the auto industry. Jerry treated us like people, not just another paycheck. The work was excellent, the communication was honest, and he truly went above and beyond for our family. The owner explicitly stated there was no way they could've done it but my car was driving fine before with no problems I only came for a coolant tube. I haven't gotten tires serviced for months so the second mechanic said there would've been damaged long before and I'm lucky to have gotten it fixed quick. For years, I took my 1993 VW Corrado to Ron Wood and his legendary shop VW Specialties in Huntington Beach, CA. When Ron closed down his business, I was worried about finding a good mechanic who could be trusted to understand my Corrado VR6 (which are notoriously finnicky). Stuart did an amazing job diagnosing a few issues with my Corrado, and also with my 2004 Jetta GLI. He's probably the most knowledgeable and ethical mechanic I had in LA, and there isn't another place I'd take my VWs if I still lived there. No idea if he's still in business, but if he is, he should be your go-to guy. He's a one-man shop, so his availability and turnaround times might be an obstacle, but it's worth it to make him your first call.

First brake inspection seemed fine but after a second drive heard the noise I told him about. Found one front brake pad was crumbling. Stuart searched high and far for good pads, had to settle for dealer pads. Was able to turn rotors because rotors weren't available either!! He felt bad about needing to keep my vehicle an extra day and discounted the service. He didn't have to do that. He is the epitome of a small business man who makes sure to give great service.

They not only fixed my car but went above and beyond to find the problem at their cost. They tracked down the problem that I could not find after hours and hours of working on my car and even though the first fix did not resolve it they continued to trouble shoot until the issue was resolved. They only charged for the part they repaired and not for the hours they spent trouble shooting and I know after working on the car it was not an easy fix. I have taken my car to other shops that just charge for unnecessary repairs they think are the issue but this is the first place I have found that I can honestly say treats you like family and not just trying to make a quick buck to move on to the next car. Definitely my new go to place for any work for my honda as well as my families cars. Paul has earned a lifetime customer.
