I had a positive experience with Mannys transmission. I brought my GMC Acadia in because my transmission went bad. They did a fantastic job on the replacement/rebuild and in a timely manner. He even changed the oil and serpentine belt free of charge. I would recommend Mannys Transmission for any transmission work needed. read more

I had a great experience with Manny's transmission. The rebuilt transmission price was very fair and the work was done quickly and professionally. Everything was handled clearly and efficiently, which I really appreciated. What impressed me the most was their honesty and attention to detail. While moving the transmission they discovered that the engine mounts was broken He told me this was the best time to fix that and only charged me for the parts, taking care of the labor at no extra cost. It's clear that durability are doing the Job right is their main concern not just making money. That kind of integrity is hard to find. I highly recommend Manny's transmission to anyone looking for trustworthy and skilled work. read more

I waited a week after he changed my 2014 Hyundai's transmission to make everything was running good. I am extremely satisfied with the work that was done. They put in a used transmission with very low mileage and my car is running like new. The work was done from one day to the next. Manny was as very helpful and knowledgeable his price was reasonable. Will definitely recommend more customers to his shop. read more

My '86 F150 began slipping from 2nd to 3rd gear and realized it was time for the transmission to be rebuilt. After researching online, I found Manny's Transmission and Armando understood the truck and the type of transmission it had. With a reasonable price, I trusted Armando and got it back in less than a week. Thanks Armando! Highly recommend! read more

Great job on my trans rebuild, immaculate shop, fair deal and amazing friendly service. Highly recommended.

Armando really knows what he is doing. I was having really bad transmission issues and he was able to identify the problem and fix it within a couple days. Now my car drives like new! He is now my go-to mechanic in LA. Manny's gave me quality and efficient service when I was in a pinch, and you definitely should give them a call if you need repairs. read more

Awesome experience! Best price I was able to find in the SFV Valley. Manny and his team are true professionals! I came in with a transmission issue on my 95 GMC. After explaining to Manny that I have to manually shift the car (I drive an automatic) Manny and I went on a test drive and Manny explained that my transmission was skipping second and staying in third gear. He told me not to worry that he'll get it all fixed and shifting like new in no time. I brought it in on a Friday and by Monday my truck was finished and ready to go! Finally after years of dealing with the issue I was able to get it fixed. I've dealt with it for so long that when driving away I had to remind myself I no longer had to manually shift my car! Haha! Definitely recommend this place! read more

Honestly the best experience I've had with a mechanic. Prior to finding Manny's transmission, several different shops were asking for double the price of what I ended up paying here. That's including labor and parts. Manny isn't trying to rip you off. He's very honest, reasonable, fast and does great work! Very happy to have found him. read more

Manny is a very honest mechanic and he will tell you what part needs to be changed other transmission specialists only want to change the whole transmission. They don't bother with the actual part and I had the valve body That was damaged and not functioning and he told me he tried his best to figure it out without having so many parts changed. That is why I went with him. He's a thorough and honest mechanic. he does not guess what is wrong he goes by the codes. Ty manny 5 star rating read more

Rebuilt the transmission on 2007 GMC Yukon Denali. Great work and highly recommended. Ty guys.

I truly appreciate the great service and attention that I received from Mr. Armando and team. You can expect family like service and attention. My 97 4WD 4Runner had a horrible hum at 70MPH and higher while I stepped on the gas. Took car to 3 shops no one could figure it out. Armando and crew at Manny's are Rock Stars -- solved it lickey split and price was sooooooo reasonable!!! Not to get religious or weird - but this shopped is definitely tapped into something divine!!! Super honest and Super uncanny skills!!! Pros 1000% Thanks Armando and Team!!! read more

Thank you Armando (that was name on shirt) for backing your work, taking the time to explain to me what problem was and then correcting it even tho it was not related to the work you had done. This is a guy who actually likes what he does . I recommend Manny's Transmission. This was my second time and was recommended by my main mechanic . read more

I just had a full automatic transmission rebuild done for my 1998 Dodge Dakota 5.2L work truck and am very happy with the results. My truck was throwing code P0783 indicating that the 3-4 shift was having problems and I also noticed my transmission struggling upon acceleration, particularly when entering freeway onramps. I found this shop here on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Armando the mechanic is a good natured and honest guy who is very knowledgeable and thorough. He tested my truck and then went over my options which was to either replace the solenoid for $350, or rebuild the entire trans. Considering the high mileage on my truck, I opted for the full rebuild and I am glad I did. It ended up costing me less than $2000 all in all including the kick down cable which I also needed and included a year of warranty. It took less than a week for the job to be finished. Now my work truck is running like brand new and I am so glad that I chose to come to Manny's. I highly recommend that you try here for all your transmission needs. Fair prices for honest work and excellent service. read more

My Third Generation 4Runner had a check engine light come on for transmission solenoid replacement, a new trans filter and oil. I called Manny's for information and Armando was friendly and helpful. He gave me a fast appointment and completed all the repairs one month ago. While inspecting my car Armando noticed the U-joint was bad and causing a major crank every time I shifted into Drive, so he quoted me a reasonable price and fixed that for me within a week too. Each repair only took one day to complete and my car has been running smooth since. I appreciated that they accept credit cards and I have no complaints. read more

I used to deliver parts to this place back in the early 2000's... The owner has always been super respectful & honest.. took my first car to him 8 years ago for a transmission & just took my 2 door Tahoe for new transmission. This is the only place I trust it's been there for years... & the work they do is great both my cars have had transmissions by Manny & I had zero issues. read more

I took my chevy cruze in for transmission repair and they saved me from getting a new one and replaced it with used on with warranty. I dont know many shops that would do that.definately not pep boys or Firestone. Great friendly atmosphere and affordable repairs. Thanks read more

Today I went to mannys after going to 2 mechanics who quoted me over priced transmission rebuilds and replacements. I told manny what I thought the issue was being the transmission. He immediately took the car for a test drive. After driving the car he told me that the issue wasn't the transmission and he took my car for a couple of hours and told me he would call me when it was ready. Ladies please never go to the first mechanic you see. No Armando (owner) did not scam me out of a transmission job he is completely honest with his customers I am so happy that I found an honest mechanic to diagnose and work on my car. When I drove away the gnarly sound was not present. My car finally shifted again and drive like a new car rental :) so amazed by his work. The problem wasn't transmission but the tire bearings who would of known Armando gave me a great price and also serviced my transmission for me ;) an amazing honest man 100 percent agree to go to him even if it is out of your way because a lot of the mechanics in and around LA are looking for a come up. I saved so much using Armando at mannys definitely will be using him for all of my car needs in the future :D Keep up the good work mannys shop read more

This is the best place to get your transmission fixed! Super friendly, fast and the best price you can imagine. So glad I kept searching for a good mechanic and found this shop. Def gonna recommand this to all my friends! read more

I called Manny's Transmission because my car was losing power and the gears were slipping. Manny asked me to have the car towed to his shop. He called me the next day and verified that it was the transmission. The price he quoted me was extremely reasonable for a used transmission with low miles. I told him to go ahead and do the work. He called me back and said the transmission that he put in was cracked. He looked for another transmission for me and never charged me any extra money. Manny is fair, reasonable, hard working and loyal. I recommend him 100%. read more

I called Manny he had me bring in my car . He was very nice and very helpful. All he wanted was to figure out the problem and not a bunch of other questions. He was passionate about his business and I appreciate and respect a person that cares about their work and craft. He is highly recommended if you need transmission work! read more

Manny and his team are heroes. I've clocked in a couple thousand of miles now driving with my car and my transmission that Manny saved. I was getting ready to purchase a new car instead of putting money into fixing my old transmission but once Manny gave me and my car a diagnostic test, he said it still ran well and I should consider fixing it. Manny not only did that but saved me money compared to the other quotes from different shops. I have a 2003 Rav4 and if you have one, you know that there is an issue with the gears shifting. My car was well beyond the extended warranty at this point. I was stressing over where to get the money to put into my transmission but Manny worked with me and gave me some options for repair. I didn't have to do the complete transmission overhaul like I was told by other shops. Manny, I cannot thank you enough for your help. I drive at least 60 miles a day with no problems now thanks to you and your team. Clean shop, professional work and 5 star service! Thank you for everything. I give them my highest recommendation, you can trust your car and transmission will be handled by a honest and skilled team here, believe me! read more

I found out about manny's transmission through a friend and I'm so happy i did. I had a check engine light on and failed my smog test. I took it into manny and he fixed it right up in less than a day. He was kind, and very affordable for the service he did on my car. I will be going to Manny from now on and will recommend him to anyone. Thanks Manny, you are the best! -Dustin read more

I had my transmission fully rebuilt by Manny's transmission and it was leaking 4 months after a full rebuild he will not honor his warranty telling me that it does not cover leaks and I have to pay out-of-pocket just for a bottom seal $250 he's out of his mind this guy's a crook read more

Good dude. I came here based on the Yelp reviews and it lived up to the ratings. Manny took a ton of time to walk me through what was happening with my transmission, spent a good half hour test driving the car with me after, and even took apart the parts he replaced to show me what had failed. He also did the work for $300 less than a was quoted from another transmission shop. read more

I spoke to Manny on Friday about my truck (1999 F250) making loud clanking noise at idle. He told me to bring it in on Monday 8am and was finished by 3pm. Repaired my truck which ended up being my Torque converter. Very honest and will take my truck there again. Thanks Manny read more

Manny was super cool help me out when I was having issues w/ my transmission when it was shifting irregularly. I read a great review about Manny's Transmission and decided to try it out. Being a woman alone I was skeptical abut going to a mechanic shop by my self but was soon very pleasantly surprised starting with the first mechanic I came in contact with he was very polite offering a chair and cold water while I waited. When I met Armando he was just as polite and listened while I explained the problem and then he explained what could be the problem with my transmission and what my options were. He went above just being a mechanic he helped me with another issue with my car completely unrelated to the transmission but took the time to help me anyway. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone especially women who have to maneuver through a man's world and try not get ripped out off. Thank you Armando God bless you. read more

Problems on the way home Friday evening, car would not shift smoothly. I found Manny's transmission on yelp, made one phone call, he said meet me at the shop tomorrow (Saturday) morning. I did. We talked about what the car was doing, I explained my fears with the car, my finances. He explained the cost if there was a minor fix and if there was a major fix; then he opened her up from the side to see if there was something easy to see and fix. All in All, Manny made this experience a much easier one than what I have experience in the past (car issues in general). He showed and explained my car to me in terms I can understand. My car was ready by Monday afternoon, and it did not cost me a fortune. My car runs better than it has in years. I will return to Manny's for other services, he also does brakes and mufflers. I also encourage you to give this small business your business. read more

Ok, let me just start by saying, I trusted this guy, first with a transmission valve cover leak, then a broken transmission mount. Did a great job on both and then comes the big one, my torque converter needed replacement and was failing. They had my car for 2 days, and it came out worse than it was when I took it to them. Also, even though I bought fluid, he insisted on putting his own fluid in and charging me for it. My transmission uses the special TIV fluid which I don't think he used. In fact, I have a feeling he had been setting me up when they did the valve cover and put their own fluid in. I barely got it home and was extremely upset. First of all, he charges me $700 to replace the torque converter with one I ordered, then, tells me to replace the transmission it's going to be $900 even if I order it. I do not recommend this place and there are a ton of other shops nearby that are cheaper. 6 months later, thanks to help from a friend, found a place that'll charge only $475 to change it out and I'm having to have it towed to them. Never going to this place again. read more

Very grateful to Armando at Manny's Transmission. I had a weird issue with my car that stumped a few mechanics, and after going to a couple shops I was referred to Armando. Had to replace a transmission to a 2014 Honda Civic. Found the place by Googling transmission North Hollywood. Manny came up with lots of 5 stars reviews, and they were right. Amazing work! I am an automotive enthusiast and do 95% of my own work on my cars/family's cars. I absolutely hate major franchised shops because mostly what you deal with are employees who are better trained at selling things than they are at diagnosing/fixing things. That's a great way to make money as a business but it's terrible for the consumer. Not at Manny's! Absolutely true professionals in the field. When the transmission went out in my work truck I took it in and had a rebuilt one in SAME DAY!!! Armando and his crew took extra good care of me and even gave me a ride home after I dropped the truck off. No uneeded up selling of unnecessary work. Showed me all the parts that were replaced and the causes of failure. AND the prices were way less than I expected. HIGHLY recommend!!! read more

In my quest to get my 2002 Civic back up and running, I have dealt with both honest and dishonest mechanics. Needless to say, Manny's transmission service was surprisingly honest and reliable. Why it's honest? Well, I discussed with him what a previous mechanic had diagnosed. Manny told me that he would perform repairs based on the diagnostic previously done. However, he explicitly advised me that he could not guarantee the repairs based on another mechanics diagnostic. Fair. Consequently, he did his original computer diagnostic and specifically found the problem ensuring that I would not waste my money. Than, he showed me a graphic visual of the problem (clutch solenoid) and gave me a fair market price for parts. It really was fair because I compared it with other used parts. Labor was a bit above average for a "mom and pop" shop, but service and honesty make up for it. Overall, I left satisfied and my vehicle is up and running like new. Nitpicks: No seating area. Decent customer service but not up to par with mainstream customer service. read more

I had a very serious problem with my 92 Tercel experiencing the transmission locking up and was more than pleased coming to Manny's Transmission to have the repairs done. Dealing with Manny and his mechanics all the steps for the repair were done in a very professional manner and at all times giving me a total piece of mind. Getting the car back the vehicle has been running better than before. It is rare to find a business with the mechanics being so honest.
