I have an older Mercedes and the tire sensor light kept going off, so I made the huge mistake of going to the CalStar Mercedes dealership who sold me on 4 new tires at the cost of over $1,700, after which the sensor light still went off. So, I brought it back and they were unable to fix it, but said they could re-install sensors in every tire and give me a "discount" to do that for @$800. Fortunately, instead I found Ara, who was kind and gracious and fixed the sensor, then drove the car with me to make sure the light didn't come back on, and guess what he charged me? Nothing. Ara has many years experience servicing Mercedes at MB dealerships and he knows what he's doing. I am so grateful to have found an honest place to bring my car; I only wish I had found him sooner! Would not trust!!! RIP OFF! Ara charged me $650 for a battery change, added multiple fees, like taxes $40, labor etc, when on the phone he said it's gonna cost around $280-300. And I didn't need any work done, it's just a battery, prices like dealership service not. On top of that when I asked him to add windshield fluid he topped it with water with explanation that's the fluid if concentrated lol. Such a scam read more

I love this place! I had a bad experience with the local Mercedes Dealership repair and I have been looking for a replacement, I have found it. Ara is very professional, kind, honest, straightforward and an excellent communicator as well. I dropped off my car and he called the next day and instead of telling me the problems over the phone he asked me to come down. This was so he could show me the issues in person, there was no attempt at upselling me on what should be repaired. He clearly laid out the issues and let me decide. He went over the costs of the parts and labor, when he later found some more seals and other items that needed replacing he called me and got my OK. I appreciated that. The car was ready on schedule and Ara showed me the new parts in the car and the old parts were nicely laid out on a work bench. He clearly takes pride in doing good work and communicating what was done. As I left, one of his crew was kind enough to signal me when it was safe to pull out of the driveway; San Fernando Rd traffic is pretty fast and visibility was obstructed by some large parked vehicles, I didn't get his name, but thank you! Speaking of his crew; I had to wait 15 minutes or so when I first dropped off the car so I was able to see how his crew worked with each other and with Ara. Originally found this shop on google, I took my wife's E550 here because it was having transmission issues. After having the car for a day i can say Ara is an amazing and also a straight forward honest mechanic. He gave me a complete run down on what was going on and what caused the issue. He also found a lot more major issues with the car that we no idea was going on with the car, he broke everything down and help me really understand what the issues were. I'll start by saying that I'm one of those DIY guys that hates mechanics and does not trust them. Of course having to go to them from time to time because of tasks I cannot do myself and then I complain about the collateral damage that they do. Anyway, this is my first Benz that I bought and will be keeping for sometime. I took it to a few other Benz "specialists" in the area and absolutely hated them and how they did business (one wrong word/misinformation and you lose my trust lol). This review is just based on my phone call. My dads car key wouldn't start the car and it was stuck at Home Depot. We tried everything possible from turning the wheel or brakes but it still wouldn't start. We called AAA to tow it however we didn't want to take it home. I called MBZ auto service to see if we can get the car towed there so he can look at it and he said what's wrong with the car. I told him what's wrong and he told us what to do to have the car start. The man on the phone was so nice and knowledgeable. He could've easily had us tow the car there and charged us to fix the issue but he was nice enough to tell us what to do over the phone. I feel so lucky to have found this place!! A friend recommended I try it. I brought in a 2000 Mercedes I had bought as is, and it had failed its smog test. I've had my 2006 E350 back for five weeks now, including two round-trips to Carpinteria, along with my usual 18-mie daily local commute. I brought the car in with 155,640 miles on it; today its at 157,700, so it's time to write a review. Ara replaced the defective original intake manifold, the worn engine and transmission mounts, front ball joints, other seals and gaskets, and the drive shaft - which was a major cause of noise and, I believe a loss of torque. I feel like I'm driving a brand new Benz. I bought this car over two years ago from the conscientious original owner. I've stayed current on the recommended service (with two other, lesser mechanics) over this time - but now the car is running the best I've experienced. I knew about the intake manifold issue (common to this model year), and Ara walked me through his other findings. He even showed me the previously replaced but defective ball joints were not genuine Mercedes parts (as represented by a previous mechanic) and how to identify them as such. Ara even corrected a sloppy wiring "repair" by a previous mechanic (see separate review). When all was done, Ara walked me through the repairs, going over each replaced part. This was not a small job, and Ara's thoroughness and attention to detail shows in the high quality of his work - which I've been enjoying since (sometimes at very high speeds, but don't tell anyone). I am very happy with the work at MBZ Auto Service and can recommend them with full confidence. 4-month follow up: I recently had MBZ Auto service all the breaks and replace the front rotors. Today I just returned from a road trip to Napa. My E350 remains a joy to drive in all conditions, thanks to the excellent work of MBZ Auto. read more
