We had my wife's birthday dinner here with a group of about 12 friends and family. The restaurant was set to close at 9 o'clock. We met everybody there just after 730. Needless to say we did not leave at nine. We had ourselves a good time. Enjoyed some drinks, appetizers, and a main course. Not once did anybody mention to us the closing time or did we ever feel rushed to make our orders or eat or food. The service was good, the food was relatively quick, and drinks were well prepared. The only complaint that I have is that we never got a dessert for my wife, But that was the least of my worries. My wife left with a full stomach and a huge smile in her face. Last night my husband took me out on a date for New Years Eve dinner. We had the most wonderful experience. The ambiance was beautiful. They first sat us by the door way and our waitress noticed I was getting the cold draft from them opening the door to the outside patio. She asked us if we were okay, and my husband told her it was cold and she so kindly arranged for another spot. We were placed in a cozy spot and it was so romantic. Our waitress went out of her way to make our dinner beautiful. Her tables were further away but she never skipped a moment to swing by to check on us. The food was amazing! Was really looking forward to this place since my kids and I were craving seafood. Ordered the seafood pan roast at mkt price of $177. The muscles were rotten!! Ate fresh seafood my entire life and that was definitely NOT fresh!!! My daughter and son unfortunately ate it before I even got to try it and stop her from it. The oysters were good. High Tide was highly recommended by a friend and the high reviews for my wife and I's anniversary dinner. I made reservations per their COVID-19 recommendations. When we arrived, were seated immediately with social distancing enforced. A sign on our table read "Happy Anniversary", but that was the most of their extended courtesy. Our waiter, Danny, seemed pleasant enough informing us the daily specials and giving us ample time to decide what to order. A couple seated in front of us were regulars and received frequent visits the floor manager, our waiter and even received a free dessert "on me" said Danny. Unfortunately, Danny paid much more attention to them than to us resulting in our feeling forgotten about and dismissed. As it was our first time there, we ordered several appetizers to sample the menu. My wife enjoyed the shrimp cocktail until the fourth chewy shrimp. The fifth was very fishy and had to be discarded because she could taste it had spoiled. The long strips of Calamari were battered but bland. The sauces served with it were also bland. The crab cake was flaky and hot. The deep fried half avacado was interesting; served on garnish called "micro greens". Was I supposed to eat the garnish? Our favorite appetizer was the Cajun Style Shrimp Boil with sweet corn relish. The Cajun spice was just right and the shrimp and corn were hot and fresh. We then moved on to the Filet Mignon with Lobster tail served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The four asparagus stalks were served charred like the menu suggested but could've been drizzled with an accompaniment that brought out the flavor more. The mashed potatoes made the filet mignon taste like pot roast. The demi glacé on the filet mignon wasn't what I was expecting. The medium rare filet mignon however was buttery soft and melted in my mouth with a slight char on the outside. The lobster tail was excellent however my wife would have preferred it had been served with hot butter, not room temperature. My takeaway is it was just "okay". High Tide didn't meet my expectations with my server or the food. Excellent customer service and great tasting food will have me coming back every time. Their service, their food, their drinks, and ambience is impeccable! We got clam chowder, sourdough bread, and spinach beet goat cheese salad. Everything was superb! I would be have been fine with the price if it were a fine dining experience. The waitress served our entrees before our appetizer and salads. Totally unacceptable! I really enjoy High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill. They have many options and the dishes are not shy on protein. Although the prices may be high, you definitely get what you pay for. This is my fourth visit here and my past two visits included: lobster bisque, oysters, lobster mac n'cheese, fish and chips (replacing cod with halibut) and the spicy seafood pasta! Each dish was very delicious and big enough for sharing. However if I had to pick a meal for anyones first visit definitely go with the lobster bisque, oysters and mac n'cheese! You may have leftovers but it will be worth it. Whenever my husband and I go we always want to order the lobster bisque and find ourselves scraping the cup! The Mac n'cheese is huge, definitely great for sharing and so delicious! I'm literally craving it as I'm writing this now!
