It's been a few years since I've been here but was pleasantly surprised to find out they have a great happy hour during the week. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. The lobster Mac and cheese was savory. The crab cake was a little charred, unfortunately but the sauce was good on it. The oysters were amazing! read more

Stopped by to indulge in a local seafood restaurant. Beautiful interior, large sushi bar, outdoor patio and bar. Nice whiskey selection and good service at the bar. We had a grouper ceviche special. This place has come highly recommended by our friends. We came in a Wednesday at 1600. Great time to come, FYI. Happy hour is from 3-6 on weekday. To shorten in for you, it's about $2-3 off of most appetizers and drinks. However! Wednesday is wine Wednesday and they offer 50% off of wine bottles under $100. The staff is super friendly. The hostess saw us walking up and opened the door for us. We were sat immediately. The waiter, Danny is also very friendly, attentive and informative and Jason, the bartender backs him up very well. I gave it 3 stars because, I have been frequent flyer at high tide for years and years. That being said I was not impressed with the menu changes and the new flavors with the mussels. The soup came out cold and we did not get crackers or bread. The staff really seemed off that night like they could care less. Not sure what happened over there but I hope it get resolved. Went here to celebrate a graduation and the experience was amazing! Our server (Justin) was knowledgeable about gluten free allergies, explained how each dish could be altered, and took extra precautions to ensure no cross-contamination. He was also incredibly attentive the whole night and hilarious as well. We had the filet mignon with king crab legs, the halibut special, and the ahi tuna for the main meals, and shrimp cocktail and nigiri for appetizers. The seafood was probably the freshest we have had in the East Valley! Overall, an incredible experience and will definitely return for special occasions! read more

High Tide is a good seafood spot here in the Valley of the Sun. We've been twice, several years ago and recently for their anniversary. We haven't been to the south Chandler location. We've mostly stuck to apps, which we're good. I'd recommend the oysters (which were $1 each during their anniversary celebration day). Otherwise get 'em during HH weekdays 3-6pm when they are $2.50 each. The lobster Mac N'cheese was great with a good amount of meat in it. The clam chowder isn't bad but don't expect it be exactly like a true New England style. Crab garlic cheesy bread is also delicious. Drinks are more pricey than they should be when it isn't HH. Happy Hour deals had drafts at $5, mules at $7 or $8, wines $2-3 off, signature cocktails $2 off. The HH has many options for food at reduced prices. I'd say the signature cocktails are overpriced for what you get. These prices are more in line with a fancier cocktail bar. One weird thing is that when sitting at their bar, we had a server and not a bartender doing the serving. Maybe that was just bc of the busy Anniversary? High Tide is better than several seafood spots, next time we'll have to try a bigger meal with more fish like one of their steam pots. Right now we still like Buck & Rider more. read more

I came here for a friends birthday party and had no clue what to expect. From the moment I walked in I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was super friendly. We were seated in a back room where it was a little quieter for all of us to chat and actually be able to hear each other. We ordered an assortment of appetizers and all shared. Everything was tasty! Everyone in our group agreed. I had the salmon and it was beyond fabulous! It was the perfect balance of moist, savory and perfectly seasoned. The sides were also perfect. From the moment I walked in, service was great and everyone very attentive to our needs. The food was amazing starting with the appetizers, edamame, calamari and ceviche, you have to try all three, and you won't regret. And for my entree, I got the hot steam pot, Cioppino. This was the best closest thing to San Francisco Cioppino. Our waiter Danny was always on top of it and always had our drinks full and made this first time experience great. I have gone here several times over the past years, so it was worth coming back. The food is good, slightly over priced so usually a special occasions place for us. I was very disappointed in the service this time though. The restaurant was half empty and we had to wait 20 minutes. Then we had two waitresses and between the two we still weren't taken care of. One kept asking what we needed and then never returned with what we asked for. They all seemed to be running around looking busy but not actually doing anything. We then sat for an additional 40 minutes waiting on our food! Not sure I would go back anymore at least not to this location. read more

It's been great having a fresh seafood place to frequent in the East Valley. Especially because finding good seafood in Arizona is always a chore. High Tide Seafood's happy hour is one of my favorites. They have a killer drink and appetizer menu that really makes for a delicious late afternoon. High Tide specializes in steam kettle cooking and you can smell the fresh seafood as you approach the building. They offer anything from oysters to crab cakes to sea bass. I love New Orleans cuisine and recently had the Louisiana Gumbo for dinner. It's not always cheap to eat here, but keep in mind you are paying for good fresh seafood. We have been eating here for many years and have always enjoyed the food and service, but this will absolutely be our last visit. The food and the service has gone way downhill! We sat and watched people tell us someone would be right with us for about 15 minutes, this was in the middle of the day, after lunch but before dinner. My husband had the Halibut sandwich and it was bland, a tiny piece of fish on a massive bun. Ordered with no tomato and it came on the sandwich with some suspect lettuce. I ordered some Edamame that tasted very freezer burned. I also ordered the Firecracker that comes on crispy rice. Be careful, the crispy rice square is super thin and I thought I might have cracked a tooth, it was so hard. The only good thing was the peach slaw! The orange slice that came in my Aperol Spritz's was slimy and obviously old. After being billed almost $70, we decided, we will not be returning. First off, very good customer service and everyone was very friendly. Very important for any business. The crabby cheesy bread was a total rip off...$12 (happy hour price) and no crab! We are seafood lovers especially coming from the Big Easy and know how good seafood should taste. The ciopinno hot pot and spicy seafood lacked flavor. There was a good amount of shrimp in the dishes, but the clams were so small, maybe 1/2 of a dime in size. ALL the muscles were very soft which made us concerned if we'd get sick...which we didn't. Overall, way overpriced for the amount and quality of food and not even close to meeting our expectations. Very sad because we thought we had another go-to for seafood cravings! I highly recommend either of these 2 east valley locations. The HighTide Steelyard being the newer of the two, was designed to have a luxurious, if not "sexier" vibe from the original and the promises as such by owners Chris and Kim Glass did not disappoint. Seeing how stunning and very impressive the newest location turned out, it wasn't long before renovations to the existing Williams Field and Val Vista location followed. At each location you will find the same exquisite level of cuisine. The menus varying a bit. There is something for every palette. The Seafood Enchiladas, Salmon, Sea Bass are all very tasty offerings. On the casual side of the menu items such as the Salmon BLT or Lobster Mac n Cheese are a couple of my favorites. However, and I hesitate to add this next all time favorite appetizer of mine, as it is "not" on the menu. But the "Steamed Calamari" is such an amazing appetizer I hope it finds a place on the menu some day! Having had the opportunity to enjoy almost every item on both menus over the years, there is nothing I would not recommend. Even the beef and pork offerings are brilliantly prepared. I would be remiss if I did not mention their very popular "Steam Pots". The cocktails are always on point! My personal favorite, "The Glass Pear", namesake of the owners, Kim and Chris Glass. Came for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Overall, the food was average, not bad but not great. Hubby and I decided to split an entree, the tide roast, because we wanted to also have the wedge salad and lobster bisque. The salad had all the right ingredients but with dried cranberries. It would have been great but there was waaay too much bleu cheese dressing and I couldn't scrap enough off. The bisque was fine but very thick, like nachos cheese thick. That detracted from the flavor. Our entree came and like the soup, the sauce was overly thick and the taste was a bit in the bland side. It had good portions of crab meat and shrimp so they didn't seem to skimp on the seafood. Overall it wasn't a bad experience but the food wasn't good enough to make me come back. read more

My Fiancée and I got engaged in October, and the people at High Tide made it an extremely memorable and special day for us. I proposed in Sedona but told my Fiancée that I had planned a personal dinner for just us at one of our favorite restaurants in Gilbert, little did she know that I had planned something a lot bigger. I booked the entire private dining room and invited all of our family to come celebrate. I wanted to shout out the two people below for doing an amazing job. Leading up to the big day, I coordinated with Dave, who is a manager and he did a phenomenal job. I sent Dave a slide show of pictures of my Fiancée and me, and he took the extra steps to add some background music to it, it was perfect! Even when we walked into the restaurant, he grabbed two menus acting like it was just us dining for the evening. He then led us to the private dining room with all of our family waiting for us, she was COMPLETELY surprised! Danny provided excellent service for all 25 of us. He never missed a beat and created a fun and exciting environment. The food was perfect and brought out at the same time in an efficient manner. Everyone was extremely impressed with the food quality and service and we continued to hear praise about the experience for weeks after the event. But we came in a Friday night so they were quiet busy. My boyfriend is a huge fan of king crab legs. The calamari was like fish sticks and way over priced. Very chewy and plan. The gumbo was the worst gumbo I have ever eaten. It was seafood with rice and brown gravy, and very plain. The service was excellent as a staff was right on top of everything. The place wasn't very crowded, and they had way too many tables on reserve. I will not be back as this place was extremely over price thinking it's a high end restaurant but all it is high end prices. Way over rated and extremely disappointing. They also say they offer military discount but only with an actual military ID not veterans on your drivers license. The food is better at Chilis or Applebee's and not the crazy prices. read more

Took my husband to this restaurant for his birthday. When we got there I informed the host we had a reservation. The hostess showed us to a table that my chair was in the aisle. I asked if we could be seated at a booth. She said she was unable to seat us at a booth because I didn't request it when I made the reservation.
