After a few visits, sadly I haven't been able to get the wife to go back. We love Panang Curry at other Thai restaurants. Here it's too spicy for her and I seem to recall a resistance or inability of the kitchen to tone it down. And, as other reviewers have commented, it's too loud because of the hard surfaces. The owners are young and perhaps not aware that for middle aged folks, we start to lose some hearing and the din of a loud space makes it hard to have a conversation. read more

I've only been to High Tide once for takeout, so this is a first impression. I ordered the sesame rice balls (I believe that's what they were called), and while they were super tasty, the menu didn't clearly state whether they were vegan and gluten-free. I didn't ask to clarify--which is on me--but I ended up with a bit of a tummy ache, so just a heads-up for folks with dietary restrictions: definitely double-check! As for the vibe, the atmosphere seemed nice enough, though there was some pretty heavy PDA going on with a couple of customers when I visited, which honestly took away from the experience a bit. It's not something I really want to see while picking up food, but hey, maybe I just caught it on an off day. Overall, the food has good potential, and I'd be open to giving it another try--especially if the menu becomes a bit more transparent with ingredients and dietary details. read more

We stayed in a hotel near this Thai restaurant and we came for dinner given so many good reviews on Yelp! This is a self service restaurant - place an order at counter and then we had to grab our own utensils and glasses of water ourselves. The restaurant was decorated nicely inside and it had tables for both small groups and big groups. The food portion was generous- we placed an order of 4 dishes to share and the food was enough for our family of 5 (we have a 5 years and 8 years old), so 4 dishes were good for us. The food was yummy except for one of the dishes was too spicy. The food came out relatively fast, hot and fresh! The restaurant did not have its parking lot, so we needed to go find street parking. read more

Self-service ordering at bar and use of water station, great idea that I wish others used. The spring roll appetizer was outstanding! Great sauce, not the same generic duck sauce we usually get. Looks home made! Served with Bibb lettuce, thinly sliced carrot matchsticks, and bean sprouts for a veggie roll up. Really good, perhaps the best I've had anywhere! My Green Curry was simply outstanding. Creamy from coconut, with moderate spice that definitely packs a punch. Lots of veggies (mainly green beans and eggplant) with mung bean sprouts. So great! One of the, if not the, best Thai dishes I've ever had. I want this dish weekly for the rest of my life! Spouse's Winter Noodle Soup was flavorful despite the vegetarian stock. Slight spiciness. What a gem! Discovered this place on an over night while traveling through the area. Small menu and great vibe. You order everything at the counter and then find your spot. Great quick service and the food is fresh. Did I mention they have a full bar and make an amazing lychee martini? We had the veg samosas, wings and peanut noodles with shrimp. This is a very casual eatery. That said, the food quality and the curated beer menu were a very pleasant surprise. We got there too late for a Hill Farmstead keg (dang!) , but the other selections were worthy of a NYC or BOS beer boutique. Soft drinks are available as well. The food offerings are worthy of the beer list. Pad Thai and the small plates were excellent. All in all, this is a huge improvement over the local food scene in Brattleboro. What a wonderful find during our trip. The very helpful man behind the bar is a wealth of information to assist you with your selections. I've been coming to the restaurant since it opened and I've never been disappointed. The food is always amazing. My fiance loves Thai food and he says it's the best. The food is fresh and delicious. We come here at least once a week from Keene. Even though it's a half an hour drive it is worth the ride. The staff is so friendly and informative on the menu. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options as well as offering shrimp, chicken and beef. My favorite appetizer is the chive pancakes. They have such a unique different flavor that makes you want more. Along with the amazing food the wines are delicious and they have a great selection of craft brewery beer. I can't say enough. Once you try it you'll be back! read more

We had a delicious dinner at High Thai in Brattleboro VT. We were looking for a good place for takeout and stumbled upon this place. We ordered ahead and everything was out quickly. We ordered two Panang curries, one with tofu one with chicken. We both absolutely loved the flavor of the curry and the freshness of the vegetables. We didn't get any pictures of the food because we ate it so quickly, but we would 100% come back here when we visit Brattleboro in the future. read more

With so few eateries to choose from in Brattleboro, High Thai is a great choice. Very warm and welcoming owner/staff with a tasty menu selection. It is a relaxed and casual atmosphere- exactly what we wanted! There are vegan and vegetarian selections- and when giving my order, I was asked if I wanted my dish more or less spicy, which I found helpful. I had the veggie samosas which were crispy outside and with a moist vegetable filling which were extremely good- and for the main I had the massaman curry with vegetables- which is a mild and very flavorful dish. Of the things we ordered: Green beans and larb wings, along with coconut ice cream were the best, done differently than most. FrIGH tofu is good, pretty standard execution. Grilled beef was ok, needed more char from higher heat and spaghetti kee mao is a bit of a strange combo, I prefer the traditional flat noodles. We bought cocktails for $8.00 rather than the $12.00 signature cocktails, and got charged $4 extra for Jameson (apparently a top shelf liquor). Our food took forever and they brought us the wrong thing multiple times. We also got all different portion sizes even when we ordered the same entrees. Absolutely ridiculous and overpriced.
